I didn't say he'd cost 3, read the whole post.  Said we wouldn't have 3.  LMFAO at people who can't complete reading 2 consecutive sentences

Regardless- we aint giving up 3 1st for the likes of Carr. No one would! 🤷‍♂️ When you start with that, I didn't read any further.

I'd give Carr a guaranteed 3-year deal, 4 if I had to. And I'd draft a QB in 2023 to sit behind him because I think he'd be a good mentor.

And I think the cost of getting Carr is very much up in the air.

I'm not opposed to Carr but it could be recency bias as Hurts was so bad.  But a 1st is the minimum cost for him, I think.  Especially with the thin QB talent in the next 2 drafts.

Would not have 3 1sts if they get Carr and he has only a year remaining on his contract so it's a must extension if the cost is a 1st+.  Is Carr your guy for the next 4 years at a minimum of 25 million a season plus a 1st and likely at least a 2nd, maybe more?

Yes. This has been my point. You’re not only going to have to pay the price of Raiders are asking and with a market that’s probably going to have 4-5 teams so you’re competing in the market. You’re gonna have to give him an extension because he only has one year left. You’re not gonna give up that type of draft capital just have him for one year then go and likely give up more draft capital to get your franchise quarterback that you covet.

the draft capital it’ll cost for him to be a one year bridge doesn’t make sense. Unless the raiders dumb enough to just outright release him which i highly doubt. I don’t even think the Niners are going to outright release Jimmy G because they think they can get some value out of him in a trade

Nah, you are letting your WRs decay with Hurts.  He can't utilize them properly.   The frustration moving forward will only get worse.

If the price is right for Carr (3rd round pick or less), then that buys me a few years to find a proper franchise QB.... or try to develop one.

You are correct about the draft slot aspect of this... but Howie is a great trader.   Make him figure it out.

If Carr only costs a 3rd I’d be all over it, but this is a QB driven leave and I highly doubt he could be had at that price.

This is incredibly unfair to Barnett. Barnett has been productive throughout his career.

He has 21 1/2 sacks in 5 years.  TJ Watt had more than that this year.

I didn't start with that, but you be you.

This play kills me. Reagor if he just keeps running gives Goedert a 1 on 1 against a DB on a jump ball.

Reagor's lazyness lets Dean come up and attack Goedert. Hurts' throw was good!

This is just pure effort. Reagor constantly lets down the QB.

i saw that route at the time and said the same thing you did. if he ran his route better then goedert has 1 on 1 and dean isn’t close enough to make a play on the ball. That is the fine details of route running and running a lazy or sloppy route kills a play due to spacing. Again things coming out of college that he was criticized about.

That's not at all what his words said? Why are you interpreting it that way?

@Connecticut Eagle are you starting the offseason blog ??

Agree on all counts. What this defense desperately needs is more speed in the middle of the field. Teams killed us there all year.  I'm beginning to think @HazletonEagle may be right about Dean. Not that he can cover Gronk but nobody else can either but at leaast he can run. More speed in the back seven, primarily at LB and safety. Another edge rusher.

Bring in Dean in Round 1, back it up with Harris, Smith or Muma.  LB solved.

Maybe.  But... there's plenty of these unhinged fools.

Oh yea, but that's Reagor...do we want to judge Moorehead's coaching on Reagor's laziness?  That was one of the complaints on him in college and still is.  I'm one of the lone guys pulling for Reagor but it's not happening here.  He's a disaster.  He's gotta go.

We didn't get to see any other young WR besides Watkins to see how they progressed.

Will do.

How about later tonight?

I think I read somewhere about 5 years ago, that Haddix was the worst Eagles player of all time.

Exacerbated by the depth of talent in that draft.   They got Wes Hopkins in Round 2, which is nice, but could have gotten a HoF QB in Kelly or Marino.  HoF OL in Bruce Matthews... things that team desperately needed.

If that was the cost I would be 100% with you and be all over it. I don’t think that’s gonna be the cost though. Carson Wentz came of a horrific year, like 2 team market and got a conditional first and a third. Derek Carr is coming off a very good year. performed at a pretty good level with a team with a bunch of distractions and a bunch of crap off the field and got them to 10 wins and into the playoffs. I can see the Raiders having a 4-5 team market and the price being much higher than a 3rd.

And this all depends on if the Raiders are actually willing to move on from him. I’m not so sure that’s going to be the case

How about a 3rd and Hurts?  lol.

I think @RememberTheKoy is in hiding after the embarrassing performance by his hero.

I can certainly live with Hurts another year but they have to evolve the playcalling and force him to make more NFL throws. It can’t be all laterals and screens. Smith, Watkins and Goedert are all guys that win routes fairly often but getting them the ball when they do is sporadic at best. I think they do need one more WR or TE playmaker and at that point it would be hard to let Hurts keep running HS QB plays.

RTK’s Rent is due jan 18th since today is a holiday.

The delusions the people have about the state of this team to think trading for Carr makes them contenders.

Likely correct.   But, he's a rental.  So, that's where the negotiation starts for me.  In a comp pick, you'll get a 3rd for him.  I'll give you a mid-3rd a full year sooner.

Carr's age changes the calculation... Wentz was younger and not a rental.  (and it seems they overpaid).  I could throw in a conditional 2 for 2023 if it helps them sleep at night.   Eagles would need to make it to the conference championship game to earn it.

I said it at the end of the regular season and I’ll say it again…

The Hurts humpers are mostly harmless, irrational Eagles fans who just want him to do well.  The national media has some sort of agenda with Hurts and doesn’t give 2 craps if the Eagles win.  So I don’t really care that those groups call Hurts special and deserving of patience.

But it’s very concerning that the Eagles brass actually bought into this.  The damn Giants coach called our offense a gimmick and every DC just makes their entire game plan to dare us to let our QB throw the football.  Imagine that.  And Eagles brass actually gave this guy a full season and a half as the starter.  Forget 2022…I think it’s a massive indictment of their judgement that he has already started for this long.

What confidence does that give you when they select the next qb?

I said last night that I wonder if Hurts is going to get evicted or would he become a squatter?  No one picked up on it.

I guess it's not a good joke when you have to explain it.

I didn’t even see that otherwise i would’ve laugh emoji’s it. I was having too much fun with cowboys memes and laughing at them last night.
