I keep being told that NS is calling 15 screens a game because of Hurts' limitations.

If that's true, put someone in who has proven to make NFL throws and let's see your offense open up.

The Eagles roster still sits at 52.  If Jackson was healthy, they could activate him and they'd be fine.

Why the hell do the Eagles insist on not filling out an entire 53 man roster?

Howie.... he likes to have flexibility... and since they can elevate PS players, he can save a few bucks by not filling that last roster spot.   GENIUS!!!

To be fair didn't Lurie pick JJAW?

That is based on a rumor that Lurie knows the mother.  Who knows if he had any real involvement in that pick. When in doubt, blame Howie.

Saw a Fulgham jersey on a kid at the game.  I just hope it was discounted.  I also saw a Max Jean Gilles jersey.

An estimation?  From the team?  Isn’t there a requirement for an official injury report?

It was just a walkthrough. The estimation is if this was an actual practice, that's what would have happened.

If it is impossible to obtain a long term high end qb this off-season, then I don’t want to invest in a new 2022 starting qb just to force it and make a change.  I’d sooner waste a year with Hurts or Minschew.

Ohhh if we cant find a quality QB for 2022 I'm riding Minchew Mania all the way.

There was a simple reason we couldn't run the ball: we couldn't block the interior.  Dickerson and Driscoll and Kelce were physically dominated all game. Nor were they coherent in their blocking. Their combo-blocks were badly timed and the release of the one blocker to the second level basically wasn't there. Combo blocks require both OL to hit the defender at the same time. Not only that, they have to be hip to hip so the defender can't split them. When the All-22 goes up I'll post a couple of no-nos. As for the tackles, it looked to me that Mailata's right leg wasn't, um, right. He couldn't drive off it well and he had trouble pivoting. Dillard was our best OL that game, and by a lot. Most of our successful runs were to the left. Pass rush pressure came from the inside for the most part, although Mailata got beat a few time to his right.

There were a few reasons for the failure of the short/screen game other than rank stupidity. The first was that we got nowhere inside. The second was that our guards and center did not seal LB pursuit. The third was that our slot receiver whiffed on several blocks (I'm looking at you, Reagor). His man came clean and the back had no chance.

Well, we know that Reagor is no JJAW.

Eagles brought back Christian Ellis, who they cut last week to restore Clark to the PS from IR and Ellis took his place.  More interesting is the cut Eubanks and signed Togiai in a PS TE switch.  Must mean Togiai is healthy. But of course, adds to speculation that a trade with the Cards might be in the works

Businesses do have pinnacles, just different ones.  You and Manu are deflating the little hope I have that Lurie will fire Howie at the end of this season. Got to find those glimmers of hope wherever we can.

Let's go get the gleam!

(Sorry BigE, I just don't see Lurie making a move with Howie, unless this season goes completely belly up.)

If it's not clear that Hurts is the future at the end of this season then have them battle it out in the offseason. Build up the defense in draft

I was hoping there'd be some great prospect in the draft we could get but from the comments in here it seems like that's not happening

Ok, so what do we do?

I'm being told that we can't evaluate the coach because he's being held back by the QB. So, does this mean we have to wait until he gets his hand picked guy?

And then how much time does he get to let said hand picked guy develop?

This is setting up for a looooong rebuild process if that's the case.

Flacco and Minshew can make NFL throws, so shouldn't that be a big improvement in a good scheme?

Don't know.   Me... I watch the games, full of chagrin.   I do believe that Minshew offers more of a traditional style than Hurts.  But you said that you wanted to see one of the other QBs because Hurts is a guy he 'didn't want'... but if that's the case, I don't think Minshew or Flacco were near the top of the list of QBs he wanted either.

I think that we might be able to evaluate Sirianni with Minshew a little bit better, but probably only marginally so.

As for the bolded... yes, I think that we are in for a long rebuild process... but not just because of Sirianni and the QB situation, but largely due to the GM position.

I think less than 7 wins might do it.  Every time the team has had two losing seasons in a row under Lurie, the GM got canned.  (Three times, the GM was the coach).  I will find my glimmers of hope anywhere I can.  I am an optimist about the Eagles, after all.

How much is Javon Hargraves's's's's next contract going to cost?

Howie has bludgeoned my optimism to death before my eyes...  and Lurie handed him the club to do it with.  I opened my heart, as Lurie told me, and Howie stomped on it.

$0 for us since at that point he will be to old and on the decline to resign. Not over paying for a guy hitting in his 30's

Maybe franchise tag to extend one more year?

Didn't he? I'm pretty sure I heard a rumour (and that could be untrue) that Lurie really wanted JJAW.

He did, then Metcalf went a few picks later because he couldn’t high point footballs, ya know because he’s got a bad neck.

Many are dismissing Minshew as a viable option. We have no information regrading Minshew in this system. I, for one, would like to see it.

You haven't been paying attention to Howie's contracts... Cox, Graham, Kelce, Brooks, Johnson... he gives out big money to players hitting their 30s.

I know many aren't big on this class, but I like Carson Strong.

I can't say I agree with this. Hurts does not have the arm to throw it to Smith. Ertz was the correct read, just a bad pass.

If he is there in the 3rd round sure even though I know he wont be there. Wouldnt touch a QB in day one or as early of a pick we would have in the 2nd round of this draft class.
