Tbh, a good chunk of the passing yards was screen passes that went for massive gains. All tom had to do was throw it a few yards and just like that he got another 50 more watching his guy run.

How does that justify "defense wins championships” ??

Eagles lost because Reagor is the worst player in the league. By a lot. Yes they made other mistakes but he is the single reason they lost. He dropped like 3 balls, 2 of which could have won the game.

Really? Hurts knew Reagor couldn't be relied upon to catch anything. So you go to the #1 draft pick, who had to go to the coach and ask for Hurts to throw the ball to him. What happens? Hurts is too stupid to simply glance over at a reliable receiver, a #1 draft pick, WIDE open...and goes to the guy who just DROPPED a TD, who proceeds to drop another one. Some of you will defend that with all your might, but the proof is on film, and film doesn't lie. Smith threw his  freekin helmet in disgust of HURTS. Hurts ignored Smith and chose rock hands to throw to. Your very talented #1 WR is now disgusted with the starting QB.

Defend Hurts if you want to, but I sure as hell hold him accountable for a horrible game where he was so bad, he looked concussed. I could not believe the horrible throws all day. I even said here early in the game, he might be injured or semi concussed. He was THAT bad. I predicted multiple INT's, knowing he was going to throw at LEAST 3 INT's, 4 or more. I was spot on- HURTS SUCKED that badly. And I watched people defend him, even though what I predicted happened. And no, I was NOT happy about being right... I just knew it was coming. I guess some people give a player who sucks that bad a pass.  I'm not. It is inexcusable. Just ask Smith. smh.

When you’re scrambling around, you’re not looking for your #1 target, you’re looking for anyone who might be open. You can’t be picky. You’re just nitpicking.

He didn't have to look- it was all right in front of him. Done talking to you. Watch the film- film doesn't lie. And ask Smith why he threw his helmet- he was right in view of Hurts, and Hurts chose the idiot who just who just dropped a TD. Defend him all you want. I'm not. He sucks- period. He is also not very bright.

I don't think Siri adjusted too late. We should have been able to have success with the pass against this team and I don't fault Siri for at least trying to see if we could.

We lost. For many reasons. Too much overconfidence, some bad luck, and not enough emphasis on fundamentals. I Love energy Hurts  brings to the team, but multiple throws into a double covered receivers?!? is just unacceptable. Hopefully he learns from watching the tape and the team gets back to the fundamentals next week. Also all the drops by wide receivers?!? They need to clean it up, and step up. Bad game overall against a weaker opponent.

This is false. Eagles had 33 rushing attempts, and 31 passing attempts.  The last possession was 8 consecutive passes, you do the math.

However the final tally came out, you can not say that this was a balanced offense throughout the game. If you are sporadically doing only one thing, either just throwing or just running, then the other team knows exactly what to expect. When Hurts tried running the ball, after continuous throws, he gashed the Giants on couple of long ground plays before they readjusted. We should have been doing more readjusting throughout the game to achieve balanced offense.

Not the point i was making.

I would say when you spend a 1st rounder on someone and at best you can get a mid-round pick for him, that means he didn’t live up to expectations, no?

Bud, hes barely played to prove if hes a bust or not. Jordan got the job because hes a damn freak. When Dillard filled in at LT he looked fine considering how little game time hes had.

Wasnt Dillard having nagging soft tissue injuries which promted Mailata to get the starts?

Terrible game all around by the whole offense. Defense played good enough to win but there's still not enough pressure on the opposing QB. Hurts was really bad today but somehow still did enough that they had a chance to win the game. Bad drop by Greg Ward in the endzone, TD called back along with another big run thanks to Herbig holding penalties, Goedert had another bad drop, Miles Sanders twists his ankle by just running in the open field by himself, Not converting a 4th and 1 in Giants territory just outside of field goal range, Boston Scott fumble late in the game while on a promising drive in Giants territory, plus back to back potential TD drops from Reagor.

Eagles didn't deserve to win this game but it's crazy how they actually should have won it multiple ways. Oh well that's how divisional games go more times than not you can throw win/loss records out of the window and expect a tough match up. On to the next one.

That may be true.  Just watched Stanford throw a pass that had to be perfect.  Some of Hurt’s throws aren’t even close.  You can see it in Devonta’s eyes too.

Completely agree with you. Sometimes hurts does throw a nice pass but all too often they lack zip.

After this game ended the way it did I 50 percent agree. Still can't blame the QB because a player whose job it is to catch footballs cannot catch.

You can't no... But on 3 out of 4 plays right at the end? When on at least one there was another player open?

Bigger point, the game shouldn't really have been that close. Giants suck - they have nothing on offence but our O crapped the bed even worse than them.

Not the first time its happened either. Reminded me of the Panthers game somewhat - yeah it was different ending but our offence in both games had chance after chance against an inept opponent but games still came down to the wire.

At this point I believe Hurts is destined to be a backup, but that doesn't mean I think an upgrade at QB is a priority. I think we can improve more next year with upgrades elsewhere. That also doesn't mean we build around Hurts. Hurts needs to adapt, not the other way around. A running QB with little passing ability doesn't get you to where you need to be no matter who you have around them.

I would agree here. I think Hurts can be a good long term back up. If you told me Hurts was the back up and needed to play a handful of games a year I would be OK with that. You can win games with Hurts and I don't think he's going to lose you too many by his own poor play. He's a good back up and the fact he can run I think means he can come in to any offense because what you do is simplify things and go run heavy which you'd do with your back up in.

Wentz had games like this in his last couple of years as an Eagle. And like Hurts he made some that should have been game winners at the end which were dropped.

But that didn’t excuse how poorly he played and the same goes for Hurts.

Hurts is going to get the rest of the year and I will stay patient. He has shown some really good things this year. I agree though it’s too early to say he has earned another year. Let’s see how it plays out.

But what I would say is that I don’t see any of the possible QBs we can get in a trade as viable options. I want no part of Watson. Rodgers and Wilson would cost so much in respect of salary/draft picks that we couldn’t build a good enough team around them to realistically compete. I doubt any of them would come here any way.

So let’s just hope this was an aberration from Hurts and that he bounces back strong. Because the other options for last year don’t look great.

I agree it was the same with Wentz, but not last year where his throws were all over the place. It's how it was with Wentz the years before - good passes that get dropped again and again.

Difference is that Hurts can run it so well that he was able to mask the flaws of our receivers to some degree.

Yes I can, because it is a fact.

1st half drives

1st drive - 2 runs, 1 pass

2nd drive - 3 runs, 7 passes ( total 5 runs, 8 passes )

3rd drive - 0 runs, 3 passes ( total 5 runs, 11 passes )

4th drive - 10 runs, 5 passes ( total 15 runs, 16 passes )

It is the biggest challenge for sure. Unfortunately there’s no chance he gets removed (frankly he should be gone before anyone else at this point) so all we can do is hope for the best.

Hey I would have preferred he threw it to one of the ball boys, as they probably have more talent than Reagor does. The guy still needs to catch at least one of those, and it's not Hurts fault he has to share the field with the worst player in the league. BTW I think Hurts is pretty much trash (ok, trash with a gimmick) too.

As bad as Hurts was today, he put the ball in the right place (twice) to win the game but Reagor blew it.

Yup. Reagor is just a waste of water, oxygen and calories and has no purpose on this planet.

I'm not defending Hurts, if you think I was please show me a quote. He sucks. I'm simply pointing out absolutely terrible Reagor is. Saying one guy sucks doesn't mean I'm defending another player by default.

I pointed this out weeks ago, but any given game really watch Smith. You consistently see him pissed/saying something to Hurts.

I would give up two first round picks for Deshaun easily.

I don’t blame Hurts for targeting Reagor. Ultimately if he is worrying about who he is throwing to then that would be a major issue. Hurts made two really good throws which should have won the game.

As for Smith getting frustrated with Hurts, well I’d expect that from a true 1 WR in a run first offense. I don’t see it as a major issue.

But none of that disguises that Hurts was really bad yesterday. Showed a lot of concerning traits, inaccuracy, bad decision making and failing to look off DBs. He needs to be better, no question.

Yeah Hurts was awful and it's extremely unlikely he is the answer at QB unless he miraculously takes a quantum leap. I still like watching us win though, and pretty much any other player in the entire league would have caught one of those balls.

Also, he sucks at returning punts. He sucks on those WR screens and plays of that type. He is bad at everything they ask him to do, but he still gets reps.

I mean yeah you can't completely kill Hurts for that you can't. Reagor is out there and Hurts hits him in the hands on both throws. But to go to him 3 times in 4 crucial plays... I don't know I think Hurts deserves criticism for that.

Oh you're absolutely right he's going nowhere. He should but he's not! And that's why I am generally quite down on this teams future right now.

Coaches fault for putting a completely useless player on the field. Literally any other player would be more effective.
