Remember though that they don’t have Sean Payton.

So insert Jameis (or rookie!) in at QB, remove multiple players due to cap ramifications, retire defense stalwart Malcolm Jenkins, and we very possibly just traded for a top 10 pick.

They lost Jenkins and Marcus Williams.  Jameis is an upgrade if he can go full season but if they go QB early he might lose some confidence and dude shady as he!!! anyways.  The big thing with them is Michael Thomas.. Is he back and healthy

I’d bet Winston plays most of this year until willis/rookie QB is ready. They were 5-2 when Jameis was out there and he’s much more competent than hill and siemian were. losing jenkins and Williams hurts their defense. I think comes down to how long kamara is out with suspension, did Allen learn anything from previous HC and how they replace jenkins/Williams.

Didn’t they lose a couple Olineman too? Including a pro bowler

Falcons have a garbage roster and no QB. They're going to be a bottom 5 team.

Falcons are the first round pick Id really want.  They have the inside track on first overall, IMO.

As of a few days ago Saints were projected between 7.5 to 8 wins this upcoming season

Only thing that gives me pause is Mickey Loomis is a better general manager than Howie. So for him to agree to a trade like this means they might have a better evaluation of someone we just passed on.

I think they want WRs and believe the Eagle's picks give them the ammunition they need.  My guess is this is about the Saints being all in on Jameis.

1-  You can argue Mariota and his mobility is a upgrade over Ryan and they have a 2nd year coach

2- Panthers lived and died by Cmacc. They also are bringing back some decent talent and a top 10 picks

Saints, lost there best player(Kamara) lost a top coach, lockeroom leader and   are getting a bad QB with one less ACL

1. Mariota has had injury and concussion issues. So behind a bad oline with no WRs and he holds the ball too long at times. let me know how that goes for him.

2. Cmc is injury prone. He’s played 10 games out of his last 33. So he’s going to be healthy for that game?

winston is still SIGNIFICANTLY better than tysom hill and siemian. Kamara has yet to be suspended. So when that happens we will know how long. They are also getting back Michael Thomas. He’s not been traded. He’s there’s. Also jenkins leaving might workout better. He was liability in pass coverage. He had a 64.5 grade last year according to pff.

.....please give me your reasoning.

You traded #15 for a first, second and third

Time devalues those picks

so equivalent of a second and fourth to me

i admit i am a tad surprised by the overwhelmingly positive reactions. I am not a believer in Hurts so i want qb ammo next yr. I get that.

i also get spreading out the first round contracts. I just saw plenty of good players that could help rebuild this team

Not a fan of young tbh. However i don’t think you are gonna be picking high enough to get stroud with either eagles or saints pick. nor do i think if a team like seattle, houston, Carolina, giants and lions are picking in the top spots are going to be willing to trade back with you if stroud keeps his draft stock where it is by next draft season.

Agree.

I'm going to keep an eye on Stanford's McKee.  And there's other QBs besides Stroud and Young.  Be curious to see how many of them, if any, step up their game in 2022.

That's true. Could also see them trading up from 51 if Mafe falls to the 35-40 range. We know Howie loves to trade 3s and 4s lol

Yep

Eagles will have picks #12 and #17 next year

That's my initial read on it too. I don't think they are trading up for a rookie QB. They have a bad cap and can offset it with 3 players in the top 50.

If you're convinced that the 2023 draft will offer significantly more value in the 1st round than in 2022 then you make this trade all day, regardless of what you think of Hurts.

Lost Armstead.

Pro bowl Left tackle to boot. Unless Big V is his backup, Jameis is gonna feel that one at least a few times a game

A QB from some bum school in Ohio or a short Alabama QB. A real pick your poison.

Better.

Pass. This dude can't even run a 40 all offseason.

Wouldn’t be surprised if later in FA they sign Duane brown or fisher to fill that spot for a year as they groom their LT or go after a better one next FA. Neither are Armstead but both are competent starters. Particularly brown who was solid last year.

I dont get the crowning of the saints on here.

winston blows and is injury prone. new coach. more holes on defense, up against the cap and waiting for the Kamara shoe to drop.

Not to mention the Saints may have one of the hardest schedules in the league.

You can get to 10-11 wins REALLL EASY when you play AFC North, NFC West, Tampa Twice, Eagles and the Vikings.

No one is crowning them. All we said was they are likely in the hunt for the playoffs and they play 4 games against crap atlanta and crap Carolina which is true..

lol at Jameis isn’t great or good but he’s BETTER than hill and siemian. And not by a small margin. Are you going to tell me winston isn’t significantly better than siemian and hill? He had 14 tds and 3 ints before getting hurt and a 102.8 QB rating and they were 5-2

I like Tyler Van Dyke. He is on my list of QBs to rise next year.

Interesting.

6'4" 224.  He's a RS FR so will be a RS SO in 2022.  Only started/played 10 games, but averaged 32.4 pass attempts/game.  Had a 62.3 comp%, 2931 yds, 9.0 YPA, 25 TDs and 6 INTs.  Also, only had 57 rushing yards on 53 attempts so he's a pocket passer.

Another one to keep an eye on this coming season.

If Pickett falls to 15 all bets are off

Welp.  Been saying for months that the right thing to do was trade back and bank on the QB class being better next year.  And I had a feeling that's what they would do if they didn't land Watson.  For you Hurts huggers....this is them realizing they need to put some equity in the bank to "buy that house" later.  He's not the guy long term.  If this doesn't tell you that...nothing will  Good job by Howie.

Making all 3 first round picks was never going to happen.

Exactly. I wasnt sure they would be able to pick up that 2023 1st but I am very glad they did. This trade is a huge win for the Eagles.

So you're saying the rent was due, but wasn't paid, so an eviction notice was just sent in the mail and now Swag is rolling dice in a last ditch effort to pay off said rent?

Weird trade. Saints must be trying to move up. Too bad the eagles couldn’t keep a 1st and trade Hurts instead @RememberTheKoy

Howie should have kept the 1st and offered Hurts and thrown in your box of ****s!  Right, @hputenis?
