These refs are straight garbage

Lots of home cooking.

No need for that added time.  Only 0.1 seconds, but there was no reason to boost the clock there.

EMB worst take ever " Sixers should trade Embid " @HazletonEagle

Could be right.

3-0.   Let's close it out on Saturday.

I get Solak as a film evaluator but does he have any sources or is that just his gut feeling?

His gut.

That was a fantastic game. Sixers had no business winning after those turnovers in the 1st half.

Wish it was possible to see more of him. Finally got a highlight video from one of the best highlight makers on youtube. Should be one of @eagle45 favorite prospects.

Thing I love in what very little I have seen is how he catches all of these with his hands. Even the long balls. Hes not backet catching anything. Hes also at speed very quickly off the line. Despite being 6'4'', hes not a build up speed guy. Hes a low 4.4 guy and he gets there right away.

Lol what an awful take

I was interested when I saw his workout numbers. He’ll turn 25 during the season.

He and Tanner Connor are really interesting 7th round or hopefully UDFA guys.

Connor is slightly faster. I think he got 4.3s. But I really love the way Weston uses his hands on every type or catch. And one of the most impressive things I love about Alec Pierce is how quickly he is at top speed. Weston has that too.

Theres not a lot to take away from a really short highlight video but those two things really stand out to me.

Here’s what Brugler has to say about him…

He’s old too. Turned 24 in March.

Sixers stole that game with an unbelievable game winner from Embiid

I tend to agree.  But tonight’s not the night you try to make that point.

Broussard is all in on the Nets, so he’s having a rough night.

He's right.  Yes, Embiid nailed that last second shot to win the game.  But he settled for a similar shot to end regulation and missed.  Was about to turn the ball over on a shot clock violation on that possession, if not bailed out by Rivers with a timeout that enabled that desperation shot.

Embiid got 3 chances at the end of the game to win it on the last shot... he made his last chance, but couldn't convert on the previous 2.

A higher percentage play would be to allow him to post up and if the double comes, he can kick out for a cleaner look at a 3 from someone else... i really didn't like their possession at the end of regulation or OT.  The 0.9 seconds after the timeout was great.  But the 23.1 seconds before that were awful.

Sort of confirms my gut feel.  Like Weston better based on the little I know.

Would take either as a UDFA though and be pretty excited.

I have seen 4.37 40 for Conner at 230lbs so those numbers are a little different in that scouting report. He could be a candidate for afans favorite thing in football- the H-back conversion.

Before last night's game winner Embiid was 0-14 on last second game winner tries. I bet almost all of them have come from the 3 point line.

Gross.   I know I'm an anachronist on many of these things, but if you are 7'2" and 280+lbs... and they haven't got anyone close to matching you... you have to win in the paint on that.   Maybe you get fouled (though referees often will just swallow their whistle both ways in that situation, as we saw with the mugging Harris took on the rebound at the end of regulation), but you should be able to bully your way closer to the hoop, and you get a better opportunity for a put back as well.  I know why guards play the perimeter game in that situation... but your center shouldn't be doing that if he's your choice for the last shot.   You play with the ball up top until around 8-10 seconds left.  Then you throw it in to him and let him go to work.  Keep the perimeter covered with shooters, in set positions that he knows he can dump the ball out to for a quick 3 without having to 'see' them... and take your chances.

Listening to WIP. Everyone wants Deebo because he also runs the ball. The main reason why he wants out of San Fran is because they used him as a running back.

If I've learned one thing about the blog, is that they don't like any non running-back getting carries.

There is nothing wrong with the QB running when warranted, but if that is his primary skill, that is not going to win you a title.  QB's need to be top 10 passers to win in the NFL.

Samuel of the 49ers is asking to be traded.  An intriguing possibility for the WR group.  A proven yet in the prime player who can catch and rush, adding many options to the offense.  Only thing is what does it cost to get him?

Nah.  The blog (if the blog thinks with one brain) doesn't like it when the QB gets carries as a regular part of the offense.   I've got no issues with end arounds for flankers or whatnot.  Using Samuel in a role like that here wouldn't bother me one bit.  Receivers are paid to get yards after the catch, as much as yards in the air.  If that 'catch' happens behind the LOS... that's fine.  The QB, on the other hand, doesn't get paid to run the ball.  He gets paid like he does to THROW the ball.

Look at the cost basis for positions across the league and you can see that money is spent on the PASSING GAME... both in producing by the offense (QBs, WRs, and OTs) and in defending by the defense (DEs and CBs).   The money is generally NOT spent on RBs and LBs.  So, why would you want your most expensive asset to be taking the risks associated with one of the least expensive position?

Here are the prices for the 11th-15th players at each position, by average annual salary.

QB: $25M - $32M WR: $16.5M-$19.2M OT: $14.7M-$16M

RB: $6M-$7M

DE: $15M-$17M CB: $13.3M - $14.5M

LB: $8.8M - $10M

The QB makes about 4x the amount of the RB.  The RB is much easier to find as well.  Why risk your QB by having him run as a regular part of the offense?   Makes no sense.
