Why does the media bite on every rumor.

Howie has called about trading up, well, duh. Howie calls everyone before the draft, postulates scenarios, finds out what they want to move up or down, and keeps that info by the phone on draft day. Doesn't mean he's targeting anyone specifically, but he wants the parameters of deals worked out before the 15 minutes start, so as the draft unfolds, he can strike quickly.

If Howie wasn't calling people, especially this year with all the trade bait he possesses (not just picks, supposedly he's had calls about Dillard and Herbig, who just signed his tender and can now be traded), he would be negligent.

Howie's pretty good about guessing how the draft is going to unfold, but it's not an exact science. Got to preserve "optionality."

The key is always stick to the board, don't let the heat of the moment get you to make a rash move. Trust the process.

Depends on who you ask, like I said isn't much of a difference in value between RT and LT anymore.

Especially if they are position versatile and can play both like Mailata.

If an OT is a better talent at OT than the DE is at DE you take the OT.

It's not like deciding whether or not to draft the number one ranked FB or the number one ranked DE.

OT is a high value position and I'm not sure there are any sure fire DE prospects In this draft like a Garrett or bosa.

Hutchinson is big  powerful and relentless but not real twitchy explosive or bendy.

Thibideaux is lean and fast and twitchy but also not a good bender, he lacks power.

Jermaine Johnson who has exploded up boards is a one year wonder in college who needs to get better at the point and the run.

Walker, his college production is no where near his combine wow numbers 

Where as the top OT in this draft are all top prospects with out a ton of ?

I'd say the top OT in this draft are far better than the top DE in this draft.

I'd have two OT on my board above any DE prospects.

If I didnt need an OT though I'd take a DE.

Making a bad pick is not necessarily making a panic pick.  I think the way Howie maneuvered the draft last year was very good.

 

Drafting Reagor over Jefferson the year before was terrible. But I don't think it was a panic move. Just a bad decision.

I missed it, what are the Jets offering for Deebo?  They are desperate for a star WR for sure.  Virtual lock that they will trade for either DK Metcalf or Samuel, and I'd bet that #10 overall pick is in play.  Maybe they are trying to copy the Bengals model?

Why are people making mocks with Travon Walker at 15-18? Those mocks are immediately disregarded. Same with anyone drafting a LB in the 1st.
