I can support the idea of going with an EDGE for the #1 overall pick.  You got your QB last year, just resigned an OT.   EDGE is the 3rd highest priority position in my book.  So, that makes sense.  But... passing on Hutchinson to grab Walker makes zero sense to me.  I know this draft class doesn't really have the highest of the high profile guys... but there are better options at #1 than Walker, even if he is an athletic freak.  His production didn't exactly match that, and with so many other monsters on UGA, it cannot be argued that it was because of the attention he drew from opponents.

That said, I think Walker turns into a good pro.  Maybe a Brandon Graham type DE.  But, at #1, you are hoping for a little more than that.

It’s just the whole process doesn’t make sense. He’s not a #1 overall talent with #1 overall production. But it’s the Jags and nothing they do ever makes a lick of sense. They already screwed up in free agency, might as well screw up the draft too. They can’t get out of their own way.

Yah I don't get it.

*All national reporters are saying more teams want to trade down than trade up*
*All draft analysts say the draft is deeper than top-heavy*
*Proceeds to have the Eagles massively overpay to move up*

Most of these guys are just trying to be different from the crowd to stand out.  If Howie makes that trade, he should be fired on the spot.  Ridiculous.   I am against a trade up in this draft... but if they are going to do it, they need to do it at a bargain rate, not overpaying.  There's no one in this draft worth overpaying like that.

I agree whole heartedly, but there's really not a '#1' overall talent with #1 overall production.  Hutchinson is about as close as it comes.

Howie isn't trading a 1 from next year to move up in this draft. I'd be shocked if that happened

If they go Davis at 15, Karlaftis at 18, I’m pretty happy with that. There are way worse scenarios possible. I think Karlaftis is underrated in the blog. The amount of attention he got in college won’t be replicated in the pros. I think he will be a solid sack guy and also be quite good at setting an edge and playing the run. He’s so young too, at only 21. I think he becomes a much better pro than most think.

WR/DL round 1. Bet on it

Yeah no way that happens

honestly #101 is the highest pick i use to move up. Probably in the second rd.

Jamo is the only special player i think about moving for

I’ll take Karlaftis over Wyatt. Wyatt is 24 and has red flags.

Walker is too good of a run defender to be a bust. There's a good chance he's just a solid pro.

First overall you better be much more than just a run defender

Agree. Though I would also do a small trade up with HOU to grab Davis before BAL. A realistic scenario is:

Davis

Karlaftis/Booth/Burks

Mafe/Pitre/Brisker/Pierce

If we don’t go CB in R1, I’d like to see them grab Alontae Taylor later at 101 or 124. He’d be an excellent fit in our zone scheme.

Thats a moronic take

Howie prediction: Howie is going to trade up to 10 to pick whoever falls between Sauce, Stingley, Hamilton, or Kayvon. If none of them are there at 10 then hes trading 15 back. No idea what he does at 18

Rumors have it that lots of teams looking to trade back.

Also, 3 or 4 teams including Eagles kicking the tires on moving up.

While I want to move up for QB, I could see WR, CB, DT and EDGE as potential trade up targets.

I'd like to trade 15 to 6 and 18 to 13.

At 6:  Sauce, Stingley, Wilson, Thibodeaux (Pickett . . yeah, I said it)

At 13: Davis, Jermaine Johnson, Jameson Williams

He has short arms with a short body and only 2 Ints in college. Not even many pass breakups. PASS

Howie is writing his name on the card now

In a world of click bait and sounds bites, especially right before the draft, yes it is idiocy. Just stay quiet and try to learn something.

also let remember the HE rule for tonight. No tipping picks for attention.

Yeah which is why his rosters have been subpar at best. You're picking 15 and 18. Should be able to draft day 1 starters BPA. Trading back isn't the answer most of the time. I could understand if the picks were used for someone already proven but that's never the case. Just delaying his poor decisions to later picks.

I'd take Jones and Hall over both. Ebiketie too. Though they're three different style players.

We all know that Howie is only in charge if it's a good pick.  If it's a bad pick, he was influenced by the bad people.

I've already asserted my dominance as the premier knowledge holder.  No need for anyone else.

I predict that whomever the Eagles select tonight was their highest rated player going into tonight and they were surprised he was still available.

I’m ok with some moving around. For example…

Lets say you trade 15, 101 and next year’s 3rd to the Texans for 13 and their 5th next year. You get ahead of Baltimore and take Jordan Davis. Sweet.

Now Howie decides he wants to recoup part of that deal so trades 18 to Pittsburgh for 20 and 84 so they can jump the Saints cause they think they’re both looking at QB. We take umm…Treylon Burks or Andrew Booth or George Karlaftis. Now you’ve essentially traded:

15, 18, 101, 2023 3rd for

13, 20, 84, 2023 5th

And gotten your two targets. Those are the types of moves I’d like to see.
