Teams were talking to them about Dillard and Herbig, maybe Reagor gets moved as well, 4th, 5th, 6th? That would replenish the 3rd day picks he traded.

Have to think they didn't have a 1st rd grade on any of the remaining WRs, and Brown will only be 25, so his contract runs through his prime years (25-29). It's another gamble, but in the opposite direction, more a reflection that in the NFL, 5 years is forever - and they have two top WRs locked in with Goedert. Watkins becomes your slot WR. Not bad.

We don't know how they grade the DBs they picked up last season, Gowan, Scott, Vincent, McCain, Mayden - if they like them better than mid-round DBs in this draft then they don't care as much about losing those picks.

The other "X" factor is how they perceive the UDFA class this year, last year was really weak, they were lucky to land Stoll and Awosika. This year may be much deeper.

Trade him post-June 1 then.

I wonder what is knocking Johnson down the board so hard

Cowboys are gonna get Jermaine Johnson huh…damn gonna be a good one for em

At this point there have to be reasons, right?

Maybe Cox is moveable with that new deal.

If you were a fan of a different team...how much would you be willing to give up for a player that was just a free agent and has yet to play a down on his new contract?

Cowboys also have Linderbaum available, Devin Lloyd & Nakobe Dean. Could use a WR also.

We have a slew of draft picks next year. This isn’t all in on Hurts. It’s all in on the QB we are going to draft next year. But if Hurts magically becomes a star, then we have an embarrassment of riches.

Hurts sucks

Crazy they were pumping him up as a potential top 10 pick

I heard top 5

Brown highlights.  He is impressive.

I don't know... I'm just flabbergasted at them bringing Cox back when they did anyway, especially at that cost.  Still makes no sense.

Humor me

He cracked 1k twice by like 50 yards each time. Jackson and Maclin both had dominant years.

Run first offense, I know. But let’s see him do it first, and not get injured all the time.

Because they would be better off getting 2 more defensive starters vs what they’re getting. The team has no depth or developmental players at multiple defensive positions.  Adding a WR whose production has gone down over the last 3 seasons to a team that lacks a decent qb does nothing to build the offense in to a top unit.

Brown was excellent last year. His best season statistically was 2020, but you could see his dominance on tape this year. In the 2nd half, he WAS the offense. There was no WR #2, Henry was hurt, Jonnu Smith was gone...

Yeah, but then again sometimes guys just fall. Look at Hamilton for example. We’ll see.

The Eagles got the best athlete in the draft (not an exaggeration) and traded for a top 5 WR and somehow people aren't happy.

And the ones who aren't happy about the Eagles trading a bunch of picks to get those players are the ones who say the Eagles would blow those picks anyway.  Some people just love to **** -- it's a Negadelphia thing.

I can't think of a better outcome from this evening than Eagles not only taking a QB but doubling down on Jalen Hurts by trading for the top young WR that he is good friends with and has been recruiting.

I almost am considering unblocking certain people just to see what kind of delusions they are jumping to right now.

Amen.

This defensive line structure doesn’t make sense.  What are we doing with Milton Williams?   He’s surely not a DE.  Unless we go pure 3/4.  Then why keep Cox?

Is his contract tradeable? That was such a mistake whether they drafted Davis or not. Very bad decision to bring him back. Your 1st round pick won’t be starting as it sits now.

All that and we still have two day 2 picks. I'd consider today a success. Love today but if they choose an offensive player tomorrow I'll lose my mind.

I don't know that Johnson was ever as high as some folks had him.  He wasn't seen as that high a pick at the beginning of the process.  He shot up, and Walker shot up.  Walker was real, apparently, and maybe Johnson wasn't.

They have Taylor and Stevens at LB, a bunch of young DBs, and Williams and Davis off the bench at DL. So I wouldn't say they have no depth or developmental players.

They could use more of course.
