Damn, Justyn Ross goes to the Chiefs. 😑

He should have come here. They say his prior injury makes him pretty susceptible to more injury when taking hits. Mahomes likes to throw the ball. We have a QB who only makes one read, and often doesn’t see open WRs. Can’t get hit if you never see the ball.

Great genes in that bloodline.

Unlikely? Yes. Impossible? No.

I'd love to stuff that old hag

I disagree. Hamilton is not a player that you have to scheme for, Davis is.

I think that's his potential but it's not his floor.  I don't dislike the pick. In fact, so much his made of him not potentially being a pass rush threat that I think they miss the bigger picture.  He allows the team to defend the run in a lighter front.  Part of his value to pass defense is his ability to tie up o-lineman in the run game.  They won't need 8 man boxes.  They can play effectively in nickel.  This means they should be in a better position to defend the pass. Of course the problem defending the pass last year wasn't the play up front. It was the lack of talent in the secondary.

You can argue that Davis makes people scheme differently but it's not like it's that hard because of the secondary.  Th question is the value to the team vs. Hamilton who would be an every play starter.

And 2 turds of Jalen

While discussing the AJ Brown contact with @LeanMeanGM, ran across something interesting.

2021 he played in 13 games, but only played 51% of the snaps.

Doing the math, for the season he would have only played in 66.7 % of the snaps.

For comparison, DeVonta played 82% of the snaps.

Not sure what to make of that.....

The results of my draft knowledge questionairre are in. I barely got them all scored before having to leave for work again right now. Ill post full results later. These are about as legit as the NBA lottery. Id be shocked if I didnt miscount anyones. For now, Ill just announce the winner, and will post all scores later.

The winner of the  first inaugural Chris Steuber Ultimate Draft Nerd Award is........

@Texas Eagle!!!!!

Congratulations! You can add that award in your sig if youd like. Or just throw it out and pretend this never happened.

Shout out to @Iggles25 who had the same score of 14/20 correct, but did not get either tie breaker. Texas Eagle had 14/20 plus 1 tie breaker.

Did he get the Matt Pryor question right?

Certainly the similarities are there. Cam was bigger and stronger.

Anthony is faster, more explosive, has a better arm, and quicker release.

He got in 7 games last year.  Threw the ball 64 times .... ran with the ball 51 times, so .....

Hill and Adams may have had higher cap hits for 2022, and that years was reworked as part of the extension to lower the current year cap hit.

For Adams

When traded, Adams had a cap hit of 20.145 million on the franchise tag.

They reworked that number in the new contract to lower his cap number this year to 8 million.

Right, they lowed their base salaries for the year to lower the number. But just look at any extension. Here's Maxx Crosby who was set to play on his 4th round rookie deal

Look at our own guys from last year who signed extensions. Notably, Jordan Mailata who was playing on a 7th round rookie deal that had a rookie signing bonus of just $89k. His 2021 numbers changed after signing an extension.

I usually hear the expression that the "new money" doesn't kick in until next year but they generally are referring to base salaries, not the bonus.

Just telling you what I saw tweeted this weekend.  We will have answers soon enough.

The Titans like to run the ball alot.

Those stats are misleading a little bit, his supporting cast and line basically dictated him to make plays with his feet. Especially as a freshman being thrust into action when the starter got injured.

With Napier at the helm, and a whole off-season of taking first team snaps, his skillset should be fully displayed.

Injuries. Above 80% first two weeks, tweaks his hamstring week 3 and has 11% and 64% the next two games. Then he tweaks a knee around week 8, and then had that chest injury later in the year.

Kind of a dearth of punters available.  Was hoping they would bring James Smith in for a tryout but he signed with the CFL and is not available (2:year contracts, NFL window is closed).

And ?? He is the #1 WR, so even in 1 WR sets, would he not be the guy on the field the majority of the time ??

The SB is almost 4 hours long too with all the commercials and halftime show

I'm curious as to how many two TE sets they ran last year. I'm assuming less with the loss of Arthur Smith and Jonou Smith

After 5 days in the hospital, we're finally home!

I wasn't able to log into the EMB on my tablet and I wasn't able to follow the draft on TV, so the EMB was basically my only link to what was going on.

I gotta tell you though, 5 days with very little food and very little sleep isn't as easy at 53 as it was at 25.

This is just about the worst take that anyone can have.

I’d point out he was also 8th in the league in passing yards not 21st. He also attempt 646 passes which is 4th in the nfl. Hurts was 432 attempts in the league which is 21st. We didn’t even attempt 600 as a team. Josh Allen QBR was 6th overall. Hurts was 19th. I haven’t even mentioned josh Allen might have the best arm talent in the league and can make every throw. That interception in the playoffs where smith is wide open. Josh Allen fires that ball and it’s a touchdown and not picked.

There's an interesting interview with both him and Vrabel where it doesn't seem they are on the same page.  Brown said after their Week 5 win that he was on a "snap count" and it would be that way until Week 10.  When Vrabel was asked, he said "That's all news to me".

Might be just both guys putting out there what they felt was best for public consumption -- but Brown did deal with injuries last season.

In 2020 he was well over 80% in most games.

Josh Allen actually beat a team that made the playoffs last year. Imagine that!
