Liar Liar Stop Breaking The Law Asshole GIF by Jerology

Not necessarily. Our history is chock full of bad laws, laws that should be disobeyed and often were, hence the term civil disobedience.

Virginia Slave Laws, Alien and Sedition Act, Fugitive Slave Laws, Black Codes, Volstead Act, Indian Removal Act, exclusionary zoning laws - soon to be displaced by US Government sanctioned racially restrictive covenants, and Public Law 503, which resulted in the internment of 125,000 Japanese Americans. I would argue that fixed sentence laws that remove judicial discretion are bad laws but I won't make that argument here. I am trying to cite only universally acknowledged bad laws, hopefully to avoid an explosion of political to-and-fro, insults, etc. and just to acknowledge their existence throughout our history.

Sorry, but I think that need is completely overrated.  We tired to go that route with Riley Cooper, Jordan Mathews, JJaw and others.  Get me play-makers.  We have a TE who is a possession, RZ threat.  Get guys who can stretch the field and create space for the underneath stuff.  D Smith isn't just a deep guy anyway.  He's more of a possession/volume catcher.  I see KC and I don't really see them needing a big bodied hands guy.  I think that need is a myth.  You get weapons and good players.  Then when you do get a real QB, it shouldn't matter.  Move those guys all over the field.

KC has an otherworldly TE. I like Goedert but he is not close to Kelce level. There are plenty of big bodied playmakers this year…Burks, Pickett, Ross, Pierce, Ekunanma, etc.

I don’t want Riley Cooper. If we draft a white guy he’s gotta play slot.

Got it. You are 85% mouse.

As am I.

We've been waiting 5 years.  What is another few rounds?  Not every draft is perfect.  You go BPA within reason and be happy about it.  We need help up front....badly.

Yeah but there’s so much CB/S talent in R1-2.

Agreed. Which is why for TE it should be a day 3 guy.

That's odd, I would call it a home with a bad father that isn't setting the example a father should. That's okay legalize crack, wait until people find out it's okay to use. Woooohoooooo!

His addiction alone causes you to conclude he is a "bad father”.  Note that the father is in the home in the example, so not just a reckless pro creator.  So the solution for this father and to his addiction is to put him in jail?

I don’t advocate the legal manufacture or sale of crack but rather the decriminalization of possession of an amount for personal use.  Under the Portugal model, he would go in front of a tribunal of a social worker, a medical professional and a legal professional.  The result can be no action,:a fine, medical treatment and/or addressing the social needs.  The latter would fit with our crack addicted father and may not take the first time, just like with any addiction.  It is compassionate and more fiscally responsible.  Legislating morality by making use illegal is treating illness with punishment, which rarely works.  The social needs would also address the needs of the family.  Over 3/4s of Portugal’s addicts receive care. Less than 50% of the US’s do.  Our method isn’t working.

Fletcher Cox is a free agent next year. I wasn’t aware that they structured his deal this way. It further makes me think he will get traded at some point this offseason.

My stab at a mock draft. I did not do any trades as I thought most of them were unrealistic.

How do you guys condense the font size on the screen shots from that site?  I'm not exactly computer-literate.

I had someone tell me once I share a common trait with a computer.  When I asked how so, he said "You both have to have information punched into you"

For me I use a screenshot tool (Gadwin Printscreen Pro). I have to constantly generate screenshots for work, so I am use to it. Not sure how others do it.

Take it to CVON fella.  I'm done responding to you.  It's not purposeful and only leads to bickering.  I'm a lover not a fighter.

You being a creepy childish A hole isn't really a topic for CVON.

I don't care if you are done responding to me I'd appreciate if you'd stop indirectly making veiled comments about me to other posters, you saying it's not purposeful, then what is it, you're just accidentally an A hole?

You just accidentally act like a 13 year old jaded girl?

You just accidentally came across my post and accidentally commented on it to another poster?

Like I said put me on ignore it will save you from any more " accidents"

Screen capture on the phone and crop to size. Upload the photo. Simple.

His contract is rather complex, but 2022 is definitely his last year as an Eagle (if it isn't already). With Brooks retiring, the last major dead money player is Cox. Yes, there is dead money with other players (ex: Kelce), but it's not nearly the same.

Brisker is such a good fit and such a playmaker. We like to spin our safeties, and he can play deep safety and in the box.I’d have no problem with him at 19, although ideally he’d be a small trade back option.

I can't see eagles using a first on safety.

Not that I'd be opposed if they did it just seems like organizationally they view safety the same as they view LB.

Which is weird because one of their greatest players in franchise history was a safety, who coincidentally was a 2nd round pick.

I think if eagles draft a safety it will be after 1st round.

I have no idea who I'm not up to snuff on my draft prospects but I can't see them going safety In first round, but who knows.

This is why I do not like spotrac.  They do not show the new bonus money spread over the life of the contract after a restructure.

If Cox is cut / traded pre June 1 this year, the future bonus money accelerates to this year, adding a cap hit of 34.927 million to his base salary of 1.12 million.

If he is post June 1 cut/traded, that 34.9 million is spread over two years.  Eagles would have 34.9 dead and 3 million saved over two years.  He is here next season.

Cox restructured his contract on September 10, 2021. As part of the restructure Cox converted $14.8 million of salary into a signing bonus creating $10.96 million in 2021 cap space. The team also converted $15.9 million of Cox' 2022 salary into a bonus creating $8.8 million in salary cap space. There are four dummy years at the end of the contract which will allow the Eagles to potentially use a post June-1 designation on Cox in either 2022 or more likely 2023 for salary cap purposes and defer the cap charges until 2024.

Actually with is restructure they added an option bonus. It’s $3,185,411 from 2022-2026. It’s not guaranteed right now. Neither is $1,120,000 of his salary. It becomes guaranteed in the summer. So basically if he is traded or cut by then the Eagles save $17,047,055. They set it up to be able to trade or cut him this year. If you just look at OTC or Spotrac it doesn’t exactly explain this.He knows it. He’s done in Philly.

Here is a link to a video breaking it down.

If it saves 1 cent to move Cox it needs to be done.  He doesn't even contribute anymore.

Thats a huge dead cap hit, this is what Howie kicking the can down the street multiple times with Cox gets you

Cox I believe is the highest paid player on the team and at one point he was the eagles best defensive player and one of their best players but he's no longer that not even close yet he's still paid as such and as such I can't see too many teams giving up much to trade for him even if Howie was willing to eat the dead money.

All this capology stuff is so confusing, but I think whichever site or numbers are listed I think general consensus maybe even in those sites is that Howie is a moron.

I guess Howie isn't as big a moron as the saints GM whose cap situation is FUBAR but still cox's contract seems idiotic to me.

You, @Bacarty2 and @RememberTheKoy need to grow a pair.  This is the blog, anyone is free to respond to anything that is posted.  You don't like it, stop posting nonsense or go to another forum.
