Sorry.

Lurie has, it was reported around October that he gave Howie the green light to go get him.

It's pretty evident, if we get Watson, we have the Conference's best QB for the foreseeable future.

You also have the biggest bag of trash in the conference for the foreseeable future that also comes with King James GM playing tendencies. He has talent, but what did he do with arguably the best WR in the league? He didn't win and I wonder how much was on Hopkins making him look good. Bottom line is if he's that big of a POS towards women then I want him no where near this team...and SCREW giving up a first for him let alone more.

If consensual, they likely wouldn't have filed civil suit against him.

But, either way, I wouldn't be happy with the team trading away what it would cost to bring him here.  That's too much for him.

I mean it's an air raid offense.  I am not sure it's much different than what Lavell Edwards ran for years at BYU.  The same system Jim McMahon and Steve Young played.  I think the question of scheme in school doesn't make much difference.  I don't think the throws he is making are gimmick throws.  I don't think he has 5 progression reads but I don't think any college player does.  I also think the level of competition matters less for QB than any other position.  The reality is that he's throwing the ball to similar quality athletes that are defending the passes.  I don't think more competitive programs run more advanced defensive coverages.  He apparently had his knee checked by an NFL doctor prior to returning to play this season.  I would imagine team's will thoroughly look at the knee.  In terms of size and arm strength, he's an NFL prospect.  I am not sure why he's not being touted as a sure number one but I think it's because the current internet draft experts have no real insight into how NFL teams are valuing him and other QBs.   I mean Trey Lance had less of a pedigree than any of the picks this season and he was the third pick overall.

Yup, this whole gimmick offense gripe is old, every team in the NFL runs spread concepts and RPOs and steals all those spread concepts from college.

Mahomes came from a gimmick offense and he's done just fine.

It's not like strong is a triple option qb, he's in a college offense that most colleges run and a lot of NFL teams use concepts from so🤷‍♂️

I don't understand where all this "he hasn't progressed" nonsense comes from. There was clear progression across multiple games in multiple key areas, and it proves why beyond a shadow of a doubt he deserves to be the starter at QB as well as have that C on his chest entering the year 2022. People want to bring up the competition all the time, but you only play whose on the schedule. Outside of that, he was basically a rookie this year. And also had at least 3 different coaches, play callers, offensive coordinators and offensive schemes he had to learn and adapt to. Also had tons of new pieces come in and go that he had to learn to grow with. He overcame all of that to improve his game substantially. Outside of all that, he's had to overcome a lot. He had the starting job but unfortunately the coaching staff decided to go with Tua Tagovailoa instead and never gave him a fair opportunity to reclaim his job. He's a stand up kid whose been playing Quarterback his whole life from Highschool to being a redshirt freshman all the way through his senior year. Frankly, if he was eligible I would have extended his contract already to make sure he's locked in for years to come. Now lets take a look at the stats, and I will show exactly where he improved.

Week 1: 6/10, 60%, 51 yards, 0 TD, 0 INT, 73.33 passer rating (not the best stats but he was thrown in the water feet first and managed to tread above water)

Week 2: 2/2, 100% 👀, 7 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT, 120.83 passer rating  (to be fair he benefited from a strong run game so yards are a little low, but he executed the plays he needed to with perfection)

Week 3: 22/33, 67% :showoff:, 343 yards 👀👀👀, 2 TD's, 1 INT, 108.52 passer rating  (Clutch on the road, beating a playoff starting QB in Burrow, leading his team to a 4Q Come back as well as engineering a GWD.)

THAT, is steady progression across the map, and THAT is why Reid Sinnett should be the unquestioned starter in 2022.

Dropping facts and stats all in one post.  This is why the blog is so awesome.

Understood, which is why I went with the 'likely'.  One woman... absolutely.  Two?   possible.   Three?  getting less likely.   26?  (Is that the number it is up to now?).  That's a concerning pattern...

I don’t know I’ve listened to a couple episodes of Packers (the athletic)reporters podcast throughout the season discuss the situation. They felt for the past couple months (since around mid October) that his attitude is kind of changed about staying in Green Bay, apparently he’s actually had discussions with their GM and wanting to stay there. There was also a report that some of this is he wants a massive extension and the Packers are hesitant to give it to him knowing it would likely go into his 40s

I could see Rodgers playing into his 40s

Come on Brandon!

I just watched some highlight videos because I didn't have time to watch full games... I watched a Carson Strong, a Desmond Ridder and a Jalen Hurts...  guess which one spent the least number of highlight plays throwing the ball from the pocket?  If anything is a gimmick as it pertains to success in the NFL... it's the QB running the ball as a matter of design.

My point was, we can like or not like it all we want, the guy with the only vote that matters is okay with it.

Sorry.

I'd rather stick with Hurts....that's saying something.

I don't know anything about him, but if he gets the job, you can bet he's to blame for all the bad picks.

I disagree on Nelson.  I don't think he "needs to be gone", but I doubt the Eagles are in a position to re-sign him, either.  Two different things to me.

I don't think he needs to be gone, he wasn't bad in any aspect, he wasn't really particularly good in any aspect either.  If he gets the same kind of deal that brought him here you have to bring him back.  Anything more, then no thanks.

As much as hurts showed everything he's been ripped for all year in one game, Sanders did the same

A few posters including myself connected in Sanders lack of vision and taking to many negative plays

He played horribly on Sunday showed his lack of vision and had a few big losses that really put them behind the chains

His best run came when they were down by 31 and he decided he should get up and bang his chest after a 12 yard run down by 31 points😒

I've been disappointed with sanders for Abit now if one is going to having a run heavy offense then one cant afford to have a RB who takes negative yards and fails to hit holes opened for him, a guy like Howard keeps the offense on schedule, unfortunately he was playing hurt in Sunday.☹️

Shocking information.   The big question is how does this ultimately impact the salary cap.

Would explain why we haven’t heard anything on him though. Maybe he’s done.

I don't know.  It seems like the best case scenario is that Watson paid for multiple massages and thought they included a happy ending which they didn't.  Are these women lying about it being non-consensual or that his conduct was improper? I mean who knows but it's  good.

If true...

"When an NFL player retires, all of the dead money on their contract counts against the current year’s salary cap. As far as the salary cap goes, player retirement is treated the same as if a player were cut or traded by the team. Any non-dead money is forfeit upon retirement and does not count against the team’s cap, but the dead money remains."

Brooks' Dead Cap = $15,736,474
