If I put $100 bet on a team winning and it later came out the team was paid to lose the game and they lost. How would the sport books deal with that?

Isn't that just the risk of gambling?

After due absence of diligence I have decided to pass on Linderbaum and draft Green if he's there. With Kelce (maybe), Driscoll, and Seumalo, I think we have center covered. Not so much RG.

This is the first time I have seen you reference Driscoll as a potential center... maybe its just me though.   Glad to see you coming around to that thought.   It's where I thought he was brought in to play when he was drafted.

Herbig is a product of Stoutland's coaching. He's an indifferent athlete who has been coached up. Green is just better and a much better athlete. Under Stout, he has All-Pro potential. It's nice to have Herbig in a pinch but he's no better than average, though he can play all three inside positions. We keep him, he'll play some, but Green is better.

I meant as a reason to draft guard since Herbig can also play center.

Agree Greene is better.

If Green falls to 15 I'd be ecstatic to take him

The draft network has 2 different player rankings.  One has Booth as the 6th ranked prospect and the other has him as the 8th ranked prospect.

I've seen him as high as 3rd

Gannon tried to run this front - but Sweat isn’t a 4i, Fletch isn’t a 2-gap NT, Avery isn’t the SAM/OLB that can 2-gap/blitz or drop - so we saw a lot of 4 DL base because our personnel has been tailored to it.  Even if we drafted JD99, we’d switch to a 4 DL in obvious passing situations as the rush would be stronger (hence the whole multiple front thing).

Isn’t Marlon T a NT type?  Bit light at 307 but IIRC he played some nose at USC.

Wonder if he's bulked up.

I just remember hearing how he had heavy hands and super grip strength then watching him get abused and pushed 5 yards back every play in the ore season I was like, this dude blows.

Maybe with an off season he can improve, I mean he's basically a rookie 😉

Lol at least the jets can’t have fun with it now

I think Ekwonu could be first OL drafted  , wouldn’t be shocked if he is , that is one nasty player .

So he can make them lose? SF wins with a QB in that game.

That would fall under Rodent of Unusual Size

Do you think Strong will be athletic enough? Seeing his game reps vs. career highlights are a little different, in terms of seeing what he does best. A lot is scripted (not as much as some others though)

He was supposedly a pretty good basketball player in HS so he has enough athletic ability.  His problem has been that he tore his knee up in HS and missed his senior year.  He got surgery, but it wasn't the right/best surgery so his knee has been a lingering issue with him his whole college career.  Before this season he got the right surgery where they put in cadaver tissue to replace his damaged tissue, where before they tried other things to 'fix' his damaged tissue.  He was supposed to wait 10 months before playing again, but was out on the field for Nevada in less than 6 with a knee brace.  He was basically playing on one leg.  The last few games of the season he stopped wearing the brace.  The further he gets from the surgery the better his knee will be.  He'll be much more mobile than he ever looked at Nevada.  Will he be Allen/Mahomes mobile?  Of course not.  That's a helluva nice option to have with your QB, but those 2 are outliers and very rare talents.  Teams will go looking for that and be disappointed to not get the whole package both of them bring to the table.  I've said this before, I'm fine with a Burrow type QB who has enough mobility to move around within the pocket and buy an extra second to make a throw or who can pull it down and run and pickup the 1st down when he has an opening because all the defenders have their back turned to him covering receivers instead of having a spy on him.  Plus, Strong has a more powerful arm than Burrow.

Tip of the cap for the ROUS comment.

Even still...late first/early second is not 51.

Last 10 drafts there has been 4 or more CB's selected in the first round 8 times.

CB is a premium position and is over drafted.  No way in hell Booth slips to the 2nd, and sure as hell not late 2nd.

@Bacarty2 you gonna take my bet ??

He's better than Neal, but he didn't play at Alabama, so.....

If you put $100 on those Browns and Dolphins winning, then they should laugh at you.

I understand your point, but those two teams tanking was an open secret.

Fletch should have been a passable NT and we used Hargrave and Williams in the 4i alignments. We would definitely switch to 4 DL in passing situations - I totally agree with that. I go hot and cold on JD99, mostly hot. If we were to draft him, I'd want Devin Lloyd stacked behind him.

I'll take the over at 21, you can have the under

Nope.  You had him at 57 in your realistic mock draft.

33, and I take the under.

Did you see this @Outlaw, in his "realistic" mock draft he has Booth at 57, then I challenge the degenerate gambler to put his money where his mouth is, and he wants to set the over / under 26 spots higher than his "realistic" projection.  🤡🌏

I think the bigger question would be is there some criminal activity involved in this?   Point shaving, and the like?

I think people get sensitive about the issue.  The reality is that there are still large racial gaps in this country that carry across other measures such as education and experience.  The analogy that I have learned which I think is a good way to understand the problem is that of a fishes and a lake.  If you see one dead fish in a lake, you think there's a problem with the fish.  If you see hundreds of dead fish in the lake,  you think there is a problem with the lake.  Racial disparities that continue across other controls are indicative of systemic issues.  Now some people look at the lake and say well those kinds of fish are just known to die easily and they need to be in another lake by themselves.  I think those people don't realize that all of the fish share the same genetic make up.

Let's assume there are equally  80 candidates for a job of whom 12 are minorities. Your company plans to interview 15 people for this position. If you were to just to do the math if opportunities were equal, you would assume that out of the 15 applicants at least 2 would be minorities.

Your company along with others in your industry has a history of discrimination.   You want to help fix the impact of discrimination because  you think that's a good business decision and morally correct.  To fix that problem, you are mandating that at least one applicant interviewed be a minority.  For the 14 applicants that are white, the person making the hiring decision shows up well dressed and spends a full day with the applicant.  For the minority candidate, the person shows up late, hungover in a t-shirt.  The interview lasts an hour.  Maybe the person doing the interview doesn't think he's racist.  He has a lot of black friends and eats tacos on Tuesday.  What is that one minority candidate going to think about the reason the interviewer showed up hungover, in a t-shirt and the interview lasts an hour when he knows he was the only one that had that experience?

I think that's part of the substance of Flores' allegations. I have no idea whether it is true or not. To clarify, the person showing up late, hungover and in a t-shirt is the person interviewing the candidate.  Not the person applying for the job.

Ok.   I haven't looked into the Flores' allegations beyond the Giants.   I have a hard time believing that the Broncos would do that Elway or anyone else would do that sort of thing... but maybe that's my bias.   I expect that each team would purport themselves respectfully, even if the interview is just a formality to meet a quota (not saying that it was, however).   But, if it is... I think that they would be extra careful to not give off that intention and would make sure to dot their i's and cross their t's.

Carson Strong moves like Drew Bledsoe. He's stiffer than Flacco. Tom Brady is one of the greatest moves *within* the pocket of all-time. It's not the same at all.

It's a shame Elway isn't a GM, because he'd like Strong for sure (like Lock, Lynch, Osweiller, etc).

You're basing your conclusion on the fact the kid has played his entire college career on bad knee.  It's been a hindrance for him since he didn't get the proper surgery since his HS senior year. He did get the proper surgery before this past season started.  He was supposed to wait 10 months before playing again and he was on the field in less than 6 with a knee brace basically playing on one leg.  Of course he looked stiffed.  And one of the things that has been repeatedly said to be one of his better attributes is his pocket presence and his subtle movements in the pocket to buy time.

If I told you right now the Eagles will draft ONE (only one) UGA player in this coming draft -- who would you take, and with which pick?  Go ahead and choose a top 3, and bold the one player you want the Eagles to draft (in the draft slot he's likely to go -- drafting Dean at #121 is not a constructive answer):

Nakobe Dean -- ILB

Jordan Davis -- DT

Lewis Cine -- FS

Adam Anderson -- OLB

Derion Kendrick -- CB

Travon Walker -- DE

Jamaree Salyer -- OG

George Pickens -- WR

James Cook -- RB

Channing Tindall -- LB

Quay Walker -- ILB

Devonte Wyatt -- DT

Zamir White -- RB

idk much about gambling on sports, I'm just curious as to how its dealt with. I figure if fixing a game and knowing the outcome didn't have much repercussions with the sport books, there would be a lot more of it.
