He's been good at getting middling talent.  Elite talent?   Pretty much not at all.  Other teams have... almost all of them, at a place after the Eagles' first pick, so we can just dismiss immediately that whole false narrative that Lurie wanted to sell that they couldn't land the talent because they went before the Eagles' choice.

Hmmm. Mailata, not an elite talent?  Goedert, best two way TE in the NFL, not an elite talent.

Dickerson, Smith, WIlliams have plenty of upside left.

They just went 9-8 in the first season of a rebuild, have 3 1st rd picks, I'd say most franchises would be overjoyed to be in that position, especially 4 years after winning a SB.

Not that anyone cares, but I got this in the mail a couple of days ago. I’m a huge fan of the artist (and the Phillies, obviously), so when I saw he was designing this for Topps, I had to get it.

Wilson has been rumored to want out of Seattle.  They are re-building with o-line issues. He wants to go to a team that is in a better position to win.  I don't think he could actually force a trade but it's not like Seattle has completely shut it down.

His only option is retiring.  I don’t see that.

Let's wait until they actually hit that plateau before we anoint them.   Mailata... the classic Howie gambit.   Blind squirrel finds an occasional nut, too.     Goedert?  Best two way TE in the NFL?

Since he moved to TE1... he's done a nice job, but also has a bad habit of seemingly one bad drop a game recently.

And now we are anointing rookies after one year?  Slow down.   The track record from 2016-2020 is much more a complete picture, and its few and far between just in players from those drafts even sticking on the roster, let alone being elite.

Howie is indisputably one of the best maneuvering around the board on draft day. His strength is predicting what other teams are going to do.

Doesn't mean he doesn't miscalculate at times, but has a good track record of moving up and down and garnering value.

Is he?  He maneuvered in the best RB draft and got Pumphrey.  He traded up for Dillard.  He makes lots of mistakes.  He has actually admitted that Douglas had to control his trade tendencies. He is like a kid on Pick First. He gets some good trades and bombs others.

They were respecting the wishes of a franchise legend that wanted a new start instead of entering rebuild with a new GM since Morey had left the summer before that season.

Nets for sure want him but it's become increasingly clear through reports over the past several weeks that Harden wants out and will likely leave in free agency after the season anyway and the Nets would then lose out on any return unless they did a sign and trade.  And even then they would get less in a sign and trade than a trade right now during the season.  They can't risk just letting him walk after the season after all that they gave up to get him.

Why does he want out of NJ?

Reports that he doesn't like how the coach keeps changing the rotations, doesn't like how Kyrie is a half time player since he can't play home games and he's just really frustrated with how everything is playing out in Brooklyn.

9 days ago he addressed it and it sure sounded like he pretty much confirmed it all (not sure if the streamable link below embeds but if not just click it):

https://streamable.com/n1yzjp

Then about a week ago that teams around the league were suspicious that the Sixers are tampering with Harden.

https://nba.nbcsports.com/2022/01/28/report-teams-readying-to-call-on-nba-to-investigate-76ers-james-harden-connection/

Around that same time it was reported by Yahoo Sports NBA Insider Chris Haynes on his podcast:

"There’s another player we’re going to add to this dynamic. Michael Rubin. For those who don’t know, the Sixers co-owner is very, very, very good friends with James Harden. And I’ve been talking to a rival owner, talking to rival front office executives, who believe that there can be some talk going on now between both sides."

And then there was this from a day ago:

This is probably to take Mike McDaniel's spot. McDaniel may be getting the Dolphins HC job.

Seeing Mike McDaniel as a head coach is going to take some getting use to

Who’s more likely to get a head coaching job — Gannon, or Brian Flores?

I think Bobby April has a better shot than Flores at this point.

None of that sounds like NJ wants him, sounds like he's sick of nJ and they're fed up with him and want to get something for him before he bails.

Hardens a chump, it's always some one else's fault other than his.👎

Don't care what the so called rumors are. I dont think Flores gets a gig for a LONG time if ever as a Head Coach.
