First, there's just something about the sound of his voice that's just so grating.

Second, this "I need to get the players to run my scheme" stuff is garbage.  Go get some talent, build your defense around your strengths.

OK, Harrisburg area here....gas jumped 30 cents over night to 3.99.  I've never seen it jump that much in 24 hours.  What are the rest of you seeing?

I'm seeing a lot of walking in my future :(.

I haven't checked today but it cost $70 to fill up my van last week.

I really don't like that we are talking to the QB prospects.  You think this is a smokescreen or are we legit interested in a QB?

. Why?

Nah.  Proof is in the pudding, Howie.  What we've seen is you really can't.

Btw if you think a GM or coach are going to reveal their cards

Like 3 days before James Harden was traded, Steve Nash "James Harden isn't getting traded. He wants to be here."

And the Eagles are meeting with every QB in the draft.

It's been obvious if you look at their actions rather than listen to their words they want a QB upgrade. Now whether or not they're able to land one via trade is another story, but they are going to try.

Howie always listens. But if QBs don't become available, what exactly can he do?

Props for my man , Pitre

Trading up has some interesting possibilities:

-- trading #16 and 19 could get up to #4 overall

-- trading #15 and 51 to move up to #8 overall

-- trading #15 and 83 to move up to #12 (similar to last season to move up for Devonta Smith)

We'll see how attached they get to any specific DE, WR or QB prospect.

I'm purposely not looking at gas prices until I need to fill up because it's too depressing.

Howie's gonna get ideas.  Here we go, gonna trade up to get Matt Corral!

So the Eagles brass made it pretty clear today how they feel about Jalen Hurts; usually I’d be here dunking on @downundermike and co but there is a disaster going on in Europe right now so don’t really care as much.

I’ll be back to commence said dunking closer to the draft when (hopefully) the mess in Europe is resolved.

Like Brian Westbrook said on 97.5, when it comes to Roseman, he will say player X is his guy until he isn't.

I hope it was something similar to what Steve Nash said about James Harden.  (I know it wasn’t even close, because I heard it).

And I’m someone who doesn’t want to reach for QB in this draft.  I just know Hurts isn’t the answer and I more importantly know the Eagles brass knows, as well.  But go ahead.  Please.

I ask that you both patiently await my dunking.

Are you saying they won’t draft a QB, or trade/sign one?

Did he really just say, "We’re great at linebacker just like we’re great at every other position.”?

No, he said they're grading linebackers just like they're grading every other position

Thank you. But let’s be real, my quote sounds like something Howie would say. 😂

Uh, the Eagles have #15, #16 & #19 in a draft where no QB is expected to go in the top 10.

So they're doing due diligence, as much for gauging trade interest as their own interest.

I am shocked Roseman and Sirianni didn't say Hurts is trash and they are desperately doing everything they can to find a new QB.

He has no idea.  All he knows, is he wants to "dunk”.  For what, I really don’t know.  I have said all along that the prudent move would be to trade one of the 1sts to build equity for 2023 and hope that the QB class is better than this years.  With that, we’ll have to go with Hurts/Minshew for 2022.  Nothing has changed that thought as of now.  And whatever the Weasel said today doesn’t change the fact that Hurts is a severely flawed passer of the football.  And as mentioned, you can’t believe a word these guys say

To summarize:  @Thrive is sad and desperate.

I’ll bet you that a QB goes in the top 10.

If one does, we have the dunce GM. I mean would any of these QBs get drafted before Jones last year?

Giants aren't expected to pick up Daniel Jones' 5th year option

CAR needs a QB

ATL will need a QB after 2022 when Ryan's contract is movable

DEN needs a QB

Those teams are picking #5, 6, 8, and 9.  You may not expect a QB to go in the top 10, but QBs (plural) will be drafted in the top 10.

So, you'd rather he draft him without talking to him?

They already have ideas.  Howie is a splash guy, he loves to make a splash.  Meanwhile, there's no commitment talking to the QBs at the combine.  Now, if they bring them in for their top 30 visits... that's another story.  Talking to them at the Combine is just due diligence, nothing more at this point.

Finally, you get it.

I’ll say they won’t trade or sign another QB (unless they trade Minshew). And they won’t draft one in the first two rounds.

The board will be full of excuses about why the Eagles didn’t make a move, but still convinced the Eagles think Hurts sucks like they do.
