As for the Colts, the issues with Wentz stretched back to before the season began, one source said, and over the course of the year, some grew frustrated at what they deemed a lack of leadership, a resistance to hard coaching and a reckless style of play, which had a role in several close losses this year.

Heard this before when he played with the Eagles so it must be all lies.

We will see about that.

Prediction: The Commanders will not make the playoffs, and Wentz will be gone after this season.

Sadly I think he gets benched by week 10.  Indy was a better situation for him.

Yea true, but I imagine they’ll pick up a WR in FA. Not advocating for a RB in 2nd round, just saying that I’d be ok with them doing it.

I suppose there may be some scenario where I take Walker, because I really like him. But I still think even after signing a WR we take one early. I think we need to upgrade the slot, and though I have faith in Quez to be a #2, I dont think anyone can really be sold on him (thanks a lot Hurts) so its probably worth taking another WR out of this class, early.

I think we may sign a slot, Smith-Schuster, or really digging in to the bottom of the bargain bin for Richie James, to improve the slot. Thats where the bang for the buck is. (You can get either of those 2, or maybe Crowder for a fraction of the price of a guy like Robinson. And JJSS and Crowder are capable of being go to/volume WRs without the price tag of a star like Robinson.

But the I think they still draft a guy to play outside across from Smith.

I really feel like Burks is going to be ours. But if not, then those WRs who will be available in round 2 are pretty likely to be some of the best players on the board regardless of position.

No.  Why would he be available if not for the scandal?

Pretty sure he was forcing his way out of Houston before the scandal.

Colts gave up too quickly

Needs a lot of improvement. One would even say more than he can have

I said the same thing but maybe they (and the Eagles) know something we don't.

I’m really warming up & liking the idea of taking Burks. My favorite scenario so far is using a 1st on a DE and Burks, then using the other 1st in a trade to gain some 2023 draft capital. Using that pick along with 2nd & 3rd on a DB/LB, then another DB or another DL.

Next offseason, aggressively go after a QB. With a new QB to go with Devonta/Burks/Quez/Goedert in place, a reliable OL, and improved defense I’ll feel really good about Eagles future.

I was simply saying he'd be great to have for Smith and the others if he didn't have the scandal

You're the one that was trying to break it down...

I am simply saying there's more going on with Watson than just the scandal about sexual assaults.

Exactly, because they didn't consult him about the GM and HC hires.  No thanks.  I don't want that guy for my franchise.  Because, who's to say he won't do it again in 2 years here with Howie?

I know, and I know why.  It was a question to move the discussion beyond his deviant behaviors and to his entitlement issues.   In other words, too much baggage... hard pass.

I am thrilled that Wentz was traded in the division.

We are entering a season that I was about to have little to no interest in...the third consecutive year in which no reasonable person would have anything resembling deep playoff expectations for the team.  And now...a Colts/Commanders trade just spiced up the season with 2 weeks of high quality theater.

It was a coup that we got a 1 and a 3 for Wentz...and, to be fair...it's a coup that Indy managed a 3 and a 3 (and possibly more).

Now, could Wentz beat us once (or twice) next year head to head and make things "look bad" ?  Sure, Mcnabb did that once too.  But the reality that he's an overrated bust who was masterfully unloaded for more than he's worth won't change.

So according to the Wentz fan boys Reich and the Colts was THE perfect place for him to resurrect his career and even that didn't work out. Not only that the same rumblings of being a bad teammate and not being coachable came up and Reich had to apologize to the Colts for vouching for him. Can't even make this ish up, lol.

It’s crazy that people are still on Wentz’s side at this point

Ah. Unfortunately it’s too much of a trend now that the entitlement, and in particular QB’s, is going to be the norm going forward.

Sure.  That doesn't mean I have to support it for my team.  And each year, I find that the game and I are drifting apart.  One day I may find that I just have no interest.  My interest seems to wane more every year now as it is.

I think it has more to do with being stubborn about their take. A lot of people here were adamant that Wentz would prove us wrong and all that Jazz.

Some just don't want to admit that they were wrong. There might be some legitimate fans of his who like him for whatever reason, but I think for most it's just stubbornness.

When a guy has as much arm talent as him in a QB starved league and has been traded in back to back years you'd think some people would start to put two and two together. Three teams in three years and he isn't even 30 yet.

Wentz has to be closing in on some NFL records for most regular season starts without playing more than 2 series in a playoff game.

Teams just hate that he's a Republican, didn't ya hear? This is all a media hit job, I've been told.

On a serious note, 2018-present Wentz ruined traditional QB stats for me the way Jason Babin ruined sacks.

If I were a conspiracy theorist I’d argue the two were related.

Lots of rumors that Marcus Williams will be an Eagle.
