Would like to hear some juicy details about what exactly Wentz did (or didn’t do) to make the Colts leadership brass hate him so much. If I remember correctly, Jonathan Taylor said he wanted him back.

Teams just hate that he's a Republican, didn't ya hear? This is all a media hit job, I've been told.

On a serious note, 2018-present Wentz ruined traditional QB stats for me the way Jason Babin ruined sacks.

No doubt, it's everybody else's fault....lol

Yeah I just ran a search and it seems to be a bunch of fans just hoping we do. Unless I’m missing something.

Justin Reid over Marcus Williams all day.

Get vaccinated

I love the fit and he will end up being cheaper.

Williams is top 3 and Reid is probably more like top 6-10. Unless Reid is a huge discount compared to Williams, give me Marcus all day.

I hope not myself. I really think if he says yes, he will be in Philly. I don’t think the Texans care to let him sit for another year if they don’t get what they want in a trade. The Texans could void his guarantees over conduct if the civil cases don’t go his way. He may not have a choice if he wants to play for another team.

Seattle will likely go after him, with the release of Wagner (saved about $16 million in cap space)  plus the draft picks, a deal may already be in place.

Heard this before when he played with the Eagles so it must be all lies.

Sadly I think he gets benched by week 10.  Indy was a better situation for him.

Irsay doesn’t make the trade knowing Wentz refuses to get vaccinated.
If Carson had to miss week 16 against the Raiders because of Covid, Irsay cuts him immediately.
Imagine if the Colts sign Foles, and the Commies lose that game, Wentz retires on the spot and becomes Brock Lesnar’s neighbor somewhere in Canada.

He will be significantly cheaper. We have way too many holes to fill to shoot our wad one big ticket expensive guy in my opinion.

in 2020 the eagles on offense against the playoff teams averaged 20.4 ppg and had crap wrs, bad play calling, wentz played like crap, defense being worse at creating turnovers and all the other things he just mentioned.

in 2021, offense managed 19 ppg. I’d argue the eagles had a better and healthier oline most of the year. Better WRs then in 2020. Statistically a better defense than in 2020. And I’d argue about equal coaching in 2020 vs. 2021 against playoff teams. Doug wasn’t very good in 2020 either.

Except in 2021, the PO teams were front loaded in the schedule, when a rookie HC was still installing his offense with a new QB.

2020 had worse WRs, but Ertz 11 games and Rodgers with 345 yards.

Wentz completed 57.4%, 16-15, QBR 41.9.

Hurts 61.3%, 16-9 (+10 rushing TDs), QBR 48.5.

This is a direct quote from Irsay when asked about his actual foot injury that had nothing to do about getting vaccinated.

Quote

"I know he wants to go,” Irsay said. "I know how hard he’s worked. I know he’s respected in the locker room, and all those sorts of things. But, you know, he has to stay healthy. You know, no one’s hiding behind the M.O. of the past. That was there, and you know since we you know came here and going through the months we’ve been through, there’s been difficulties. And it also makes it difficult if you’re not vaccinated, you know, because it makes it harder to depend on someone if they’re not vaccinated. So they have freedom of choice and we understand that. But, you know, we — we’re hoping he can come back and play well. I think he’ll be a game-time decision.”

cool excuses. And you can say it was his first playoff game, I just think the Bucs and Todd Bowles were smart after facing him the first time. said we’re gonna force you to throw the ball to beat us. And unfortunately we can’t win that way against the better teams in the league.

We also had goedert and ertz both missed 5 games in 2020 (I’d add ertz wasnt ertz in 2020 as he was distraught about about his contract). I’d argue the eagles also had worse LT play as mailata was unproven.  was solid no where close to this year’s version (also only started 10 games in 2020). Reason he only started 10 was peters got moved to LT and they believed he could play guard where he wasn’t good. dillard was done in the preseason. Seumalo missed 7 games (missed more this year), brooks missed the entire season and we didn’t have Dickerson as our main backup it was Driscoll (a rookie last year; also got hurt)and Matt pryor who was god awful. Lane Johnson missed 9 games.

The offensive talent and injuries in 2020 besides just Carson wentz who was god awful were way worse then in 2021. At least Driscoll, opeta and herbig actually had starts and significant playing time under their belt entering 2021. and dillard was serviceable at LT when mailata got hurt this year. He was out all last year.

only 3 teams in the league that did not win a game against playoff teams: they were the Eagles, the Falcons and the Panthers. against playoff teams we got down 14 or more points in every single one of those games. After 49ers game, it was 19 or more against every playoff team. and let me inform you, it wasn’t just the Fing defense that was bad in a lot of those games. You want reasons,  maybe their offense got better because their schedule got significantly easier down the stretch. Soooo they could run the ball way more so Hurts didn’t have to throw as much and those teams not being as good couldn’t exploit that weakness like the Bucs, raiders and cowboys did. It could just be the combined win percentage of those teams from after the raiders to the cowboys game was .359 (54-98-1). They faced 2 defenses over that stretch that statistically were top half of the league (siemian and the saints where siemian’s ineptitude with turnovers and moving the ball  (plus injuries to both tackles and kamara) didnt help their defense and the broncos we were great in the first half but scored 3 and struggled to move the ball in the second half)

no one is arguing Carson Wentz in 2020 was better than Jalen hurts this past year. Carson was awful. What I am telling you is the offense against playoff teams in 2021 was as bad as it was in 2020.  In 2020, the Eagles scored 25 points or more against playoff teams twice. In 2021, they did it once and that’s because they had a meaningless garbage time touchdown with 11 seconds left against the chiefs. My point has been is the offenses against playoff teams in both 2020 and 2021 were both bad and this year offensive points per game actually dropped vs. playoff teams

I don't think they traded him because he didn't get vaccinated.  Unless I'm mistaken he didn't miss any games because of it.

There is something going on with this guy behind the scenes that we don't see.  Yes he has guys like Darius Leonard and Taylor that like him and support him, just like he had Kelce and Cox support him when he was here but maybe a good portion of the team didn't like him, his leadership or the way he prepares and that's the biggest reason they are moving on.

Not to mention, it would be awesome to be Brock Lesnar's neighbor.

Wonder what the Skins do with Heinicke?  Could the Colts trade for Minshew?  Does Wentz go back to #11 or did they retire that number for Mark Rypien. 😄😄

Agreed on both points. My FA targets are all young and won’t break the bank:

S Justin Reid

DE Charles Harris

WR DJ Chark

Hi.  Just wanted to remind everyone that Carson Wentz hasn't been our QB since 2020 and thus is no longer our problem or concern.  Yet, some here like to keep bringing up his name and bashing him WHEN HE IS NO LONGER OUR QB.  Our problem now is Jalen Hurts and his lack of being able to read a D, being able to see more than 1/3 of the field, being able to adjust to an NFL pocket vs a WIDE OPEN college pocket, being able to throw a deep ball without taking a CF crow hop like he's trying to gun down a runner an home, and being able to either throw to his left or to the middle of the field or more than 3 yards past the LoS as indicated by gameday charts.

For some reason certain posters here like to keep mentioning Wentz when most of us objective posters realized a while ago he needed to move on and wasn't going to be a part of this team going forward, but because we also don't endorse Hurts then that means we're Wentz Washers and they have to come out of the woodwork like Cowgirls fans.  You do realize that's what your pattern of behaviour is like, right?  Pathological.  And pathetic.

I've stated more than once than Wentz's problem is Wentz himself.  He has stated more than once that he fancies himself a gunslinger and won't change how he plays the game.  Well, guess what, dude?  You tore up your knee and you're never going to be the same player again.  You have play smarter now and be more efficient and change the way you play the QB position.  You're not Favre (his idol) and have to adjust your game.  He hasn't and it's cost him.  Just dumb, dumb, and dumb on his part.  No need for anyone here to make posts thumping their chests to make themselves look good.

Hurts is our QB now and he's at best mediocre.  Some of you asshats are letting that reality get in the way of any irrelevant feelings about a QB who is no longer on our team and never will be again.  Grow up, build a bridge, and get over it so you can move on like most of us already have instead of beating a dead horse to draw attention to yourself.

Don't think Sanders is here after this season.

Some quality RBs in the mid rounds this year.

No.  He's not worth a 2nd contract since he has been regressing since his rookie season.  RBs can be found on Day 3 with ease, well, if we don't have Howie trading up in a historic RB class to take Pumphrey.  But, really, any GM who isn't a hack can draft solid RBs for a RBBC in Day 3.  We should be drafting a different type of RB in Day 3 every draft:  lighting one draft then thunder in the next.  All on 3-4 year contracts.  Keep that position on the cheap and turning over on rookie contracts.  Fresh young legs >>>> older 2nd contract legs.

Robinson Jr. in the 4th or 5th would be ideal.

Maybe a Rachaad White, Tyler Allegier, Damon Pierce, or D'vonte Price if they miss on BRJ.

*Those names might all be misspelled. I did a lot of drinking earlier.
