I'm giving us about a 10% chance to beat the Dutch.

Closer to 60/40 in my opinion

The Netherlands aren't that great to be fair. I've seen them twice this tournament and they weren't very good despite getting it done.

Lukuku just stinks

Japan beats Spain to win the group. Germany going home. Wild.

Spain wanted to see Morocco?

Didn't see the hype with Germany coming into the tournament and Spain definitely tanked

That set of games was wild. At some point during the proceedings, there was a moment when each one of the teams was in position to advance. Costa Rica’s moment was very short lived of course but at least they had their one minute of fun.

Credit to Japan. Germany (that’s my family heritage so I always pull for them, except against the US naturally) only have themselves to blame.

I'd like to go on record that I'll be supporting The Netherlands in the football match tomorrow.

I know I should be pulling for the Yanks (pun intended), but I still think of America as a musty strip of land full of insolent yokels across a littered pond - sort of like Australia but with slightly less inbreeding. Melting pot? More like mouldy fondue, am I right? Just pay your tea tax to your rightful king and shut up already!

That brings us to Holland. Where else can you walk down a dimly lit alley any time of night and window shop for tarts? All manner of tarts. And I'm not just referring to Dutch pastries, lads! In fact, only a small portion of the available confections are local anymore. Most of them are imported from eastern Europe at this point - not that I'm complaining. Talk about a melting pot! You can even get more than one tart if you're feeling adventurous. There's a flavor for everyone's fancy, even a rare chocolate treat. And Dutch chocolate is much more refined than American chocolate. Sure you can go to Camden and get yourself a midnight dessert for a few quid, but you may be in for some trouble. And you have to check it for nuts. I learned the hard way. By the time I unwrapped it and realized my mistake it was too late so I just went ahead and finished it. It's not like I'm allergic to nuts - and just because I had some one time when I was really drunk and didn't have my glasses doesn't necessarily mean I like nuts all the time.

Anyway, go Netherlands!

Same for me.

Slightly surprised - but not shocked - that they didn't advance through.

Slag off you facking wanker

Jesus is starting so definitely winning

Sargeant's ankle injury could be a blessing in disguise if Ferrera balls out today.

Already can't finish

Ugh, F'ing damnit

Good thing, we need him to jog around and not touch the ball a single time.

Berhalter is such a painfully obvious dip ish, and now the game is essentially over.

Cant wait to see which MLS players he brings on to save this match

Two in the box, need better crosses

Plenty of time left. If they go up 2-0, then different story. But until then, we're very much still in this with the amount of possession we've had in their end.

Yeah he needed to slot that home. He won't get too many more chances that close.

Yeah but we can't score, so.

We play just like Berhalter, total spazzes.

The fact thaty he thought Fereirra belonged anywhere near this field is a joke.  And Zimmerman is back after single handedly costing us 2 points.  But John Brooks is forever banished. MLS hack.

Dude, we're knocking on the door. There a whole other half left to play.

More aimless passes on the doorstep of the goal.

2/16 successful crosses.  Is that bad?

Alright now we're F'ed.

Netherlands are doing a good job of absorbing pressure but Dest has been our best player all tournament and time to ride him down the wing. Move Weah to the middle and bring on Reyna on the right with Dest.
