There are a myriad of reasons deaths could have increased, and there are other states with similar laws where it did not increase. Was the study even adjusted for demographics like obesity, population change, ethnicity, immigration, etc? 14 states have an abortion ban (AL, AR, ID, IA, KY, LA, MS, MO, ND, OK, SD, TN, TX, and WV). For instance, ID has one of the lowest infant death rates in the country despite having a total ban on abortion. Same with IA, ND.
June 24, 20241 yr Texas was the 1st State to pass this ban, the other States you listed will likely follow in seeing these results. Texas is also way more populated than ID and IA and ND.
