Bo Wulf a few weeks ago got on Zach totally unprompted for his Deshaun Watson take. You could tell Bo was looking to bring it up because it grated at him even though the situation didn’t call for it. And IMO it was disrespectful almost a way to make Zach look bad when Zach is like the nicest guy ever.

I forget what the take was, I think Zach said if a team can acquire Deshaun Watson they should do it but purely from a football standpoint. And of course Beta Bo couldn’t separate the morality aspect of it.

Because when you’re captured by Wokeistan you can’t think with any nuance. And implying that Zach is being insensitive to any victims is very disingenuous. I don’t think Bo meant to shame Zach like that because they’re friends and I don’t think Bo is a bad guy. But I think in the moment Bo wanted to broadcast his wokeness to the audience, because few can resist the urge to virtue signal, and in that moment he kinda did Zach dirty and poorly represented his take.

Is being against sexual predators woke? Bo Wulf thinks Watson likely committed the sexual assaults.  That's fair based on the evidence. Ultimately, it is a question that a team should ask about employing Watson.  I think Wulf did mischarchterize what Zach was saying about Watson.  I got the sense that to some extent the exchange was performative in order for Zach to point out his thoughts on the sexual assault allegations.

No, but yardage is scored differently.  You get 1 point for every 25 passing yard, and 1 point for every 10 rushing yards.

It's interesting how they do his 2022 fantasy projections.  No improvement in passing accuracy or efficiency; they more or less just extrapolate Hurts' 2021 numbers out to a full 17-game season for 2022 -- yet somehow (by getting AJ Brown assumedly) he jumps from 16 TDs to 25 while his INT go up from 9 to 13 -- to keep close to the same TD/INT ratio, I guess.  He also keeps running roughly the same amount.  Interestingly, they keep his completion % at the same 61.3%

Being against sexual predators is not woke. Not being able to objectively analyze a football situation because you need to show how anti sexual abuse you are is. If you’re talking football for a living, that’s part of your job. You have to be able to speak about what Watson brings to the table as a football player or you’re in the wrong field. If someone can’t do that, then go become an activist.

How do people here feel about Lamar Jackson?

I hadn’t even thought of the possibility until some clip "Lamar Jackson to the Eagles???” Clickbait video popped up in my YouTube recommended feed.

I’m not a Jackson guy. I think he’s very talented obviously, but he wants to be the highest paid QB in the NFL, which is a big no from me. And the Eagles basically already have a dual threat guy at QB who isn’t a good passer on the cheap. If he doesn’t work out, not sure what a better version of that same style QB will do in this offense. If it’s not Hurts, they should be pursuing someone whose strengths are throwing the ball and not their legs.

Lamar Jackson would cost picks and want a big deal.  He's a smaller QB that relies on his athleticism.  He has a better arm than Hurts but I don't think he's capable of running a passing attack like Sirianni wants to run.  I don't think the Eagles should be interested.

Hurts is number 5 for fantasy points per game vs Tom Brady at number 4. Ignore everything else....

Hurts is a fantasy machine. He’s gonna get most of the team’s TDs from inside the 5 yard line. I think one game last year he had like 3 rushing TDs, two of which were 1 yard runs. He runs a lot in general. He averages probably close to 50 yards a game. And now he has AJ Brown for YAC yards when he does decide to throw some dump off passes, when his legs are tired or whatever. If he got fantasy points for all the yards he runs around in circles in clean pockets, he’d be a 1st round fantasy pick.

To be clear..

Almost all of the "Hurts Haters" would love to be proven wrong.  But it has to be very wrong.

Hurts can't just get better.  He has to get to that tier where you know your QB can make plays in the fourth quarter to win a playoff game.

He made a ton of plays in the 4th quarter last season.

Grooming Julian is not something anyone is going to care about, nor should it be, but it low key is one of the most important things about the team's future. You see how bad things can get very quickly when you have bad ownership. Someone is needed running the show who cares deeply about the organization and things logically and takes advice from people who know more than they do. Hopefully he learns this through the grooming process(no, not that grooming you sickos). Jeff won't be around forever.

He has gotten much better as a writer and is more measured than he used to be.  He has worked on understanding the game.  He's not just a hot take haver.  I don't mind that he's irreverent and doesn't take himself too seriously.

He’s mean-spirited. That’s what I get from him.
