The thing is, Ballage has failed so far for lack of a quick step.  Jordan Howard is a bigger back but his strength is getting small in the hole and trusting his blockers.  But his performance on short yardage is not great.  

I watched Earl live as a Oilers’ fan.  He had 34 inch thighs which made him hard to tackle but what made him so great was his agility and speed.  Great center of gravity and could run away from the defense.  He truly was a big back. But he was 5’11”.

Greatest back I saw play live was Sweetness.  Crafty and just so hard to get a hit on.  He was 5’ 10 and 200.  The back that had a similar style but not quite as slick was Emmit Smith.  Now Smith carried Sanders weight (216) on a 5’ 9” frame.  Same size a Frank Gore.  Short enough to hide behind the OL but big enough to run through arm tackles.

I wasn't a fan of the Willis in the 1st round talk but he's got a cannon.  Could end up being a steal in the 3rd.  He can run the ball just as well as Hurts but he seems to be a passing QB who can run rather than a running back who can make 1 read.

I'm not arguing any of your points.  Again, I think my original message got lost with all of the posting.  The Eagles already have a bunch of 5-9 and below RB.  Why not bring in something different when you have the opportunity.  They know what they have in Scott and Gainwell.  Bring in a different dynamic and see what they can do.  Don't bring in a clone.

Kennedy Brooks reminds me of Curtis Martin. We’ll see if it works at the pro level.

We have a bunch of them. Most of them are from sales contests at work but my wife went nuts one day and bought the gigantic pink one with wheels and I think it cost almost $400.  I was not happy about it at the time but whatever.
