Arthur Smith has made Mariota a passable QB and they run the ball well enough to play D.  They aren't great, but they are maximising their talent.

And the Niner D has 7 people out. That helps

I disagree. That is what makes him special. It’s hard to dial something like that back ‘just a little bit’.  Let him be who he is and accept the results.  They will be on the positive side far more often than not.
