I know he doesn't hate Philly.  According to some on here he does or is biased towards whatever team they're playing.  Neither are the case.

The Eagles hardly have smurfs at WR though.  We have a Heisman Trophy winner who can dominate.  We have baby TO but can dominate.  And they have Quez, who can run by anyone.  These are not smurfs who can only get open by running a screen or 5 yard out/button hook.  These are elite WR who can excel downfield.  They've been severely limited the last few weeks.

What has Hurts done over the last 3 games that Minshew can't?  Again, not saying I want Minshew in the game instead of Hurts.  Minshew can't touch what Hurts did weeks 2-3.  He can however manage a game, hand the ball off and get the ball out quick.  If all you want Hurts to do is be a game manager then you might as well do the revolving door QB idea that one of the posters on here suggested.  Bring in a game manager every 4 years and never pay a QB top dollar.

This question makes my head hurt.

I went to the game yesterday with a cousin of mine from Alabama. He was in town for the weekend and wanted to go to the game even though he’s really a Titans fan. But he hates the Cowboys so he was rooting for us. It was arranged in advance for him to get the ticket and that I would meet him at the seat. He went to the stadium about four hours early and wandered around. He wanted to buy an Eagles jersey as a souvenir. He naively thought he could pick one up outside the stadium but was told he could only get one at the store inside.

When he showed up he was wearing a black Dawkins jersey and looked like a real Eagles fan.

So yes, definitely you can get a Dawkins jersey at the stadium. I witnessed it less than 24 hours ago.

He was pretty bad 15 or 20 years back. I don’t think he hated Philly but his commenting back was not centered on neutral on several occasions back then. I’ve had zero problem with him for years though.

In what way?  It's an honest question.  Hurts 100% dominated in weeks 2-3.  No way in hell Minshew comes close to putting up those numbers.  The last 3 games however, Hurts has 100% been a game manager.  Again, I don't want Minshew in there.

Gardner as well. Did any one notice the difference between Wallace & Gardner?

I sure as hell did. Even commented to the people I was sitting with! "Have you ever noticed that whenever Wallace comes into a game, nothing good ever happens”? I literally said that.

Also, Marlon T and Milton Williams are obvious liabilities. A rotation like the Eagles try to play doesn’t really work — or won’t in the long run anyway— when you have weaknesses like that.

I suppose I should ask, I've been to Philly once before, and as a tourist, I went to Pat's and Geno's. I know they are looked down upon in here, but the buddies I'll be with will be visiting for their first time. I know it's a touristy thing to do, but, we are tourists, lol.

If I can steer them away from it, is there still a quintessential cheesesteak place to go to? I feel the Pats/Genos whole experience (including the walk down there) is just part of it all...

Weeks 2 and 3 he dominated in the first half, and then back to a game manager in the 2nd half. Hurts has yet to dominate for a full game which is a big reason why we arent putting teams away.

I probably should’ve mentioned ST as well. they could use some fixing up on ST.  giving up a 63 yard kickoff return and a fake punt in back to back weeks.

I'll be interested to hear what @FranklinFldEBUpper has to say about that Elliott kickoff in his Special Teams Blog post.  All through the season Franklin has commented on the good depth that Elliott's kickoffs have, but also their line drive trajectory.  4 yards deep into the End Zone should be deep enough for the KR to take a touchback, but it clearly wasn't in this case.  Perhaps Elliott needs to simply put the ball 6 yards deeper ... and out of the End Zone.

Yeah, teams would be wise to go hurry up when Williams and Marlon are in and gash them on the ground.

That was interesting.   @justrelax   I just saw the Bills run play with a pulling LG by having the LG start to his right, then pirouette and pull to his left leading the RB.    Have you ever seen that before?

For reference... first or second play of the 2nd quarter of KC-Buf matchup.  (in case you wanted to check it out on the All-22 when it comes out).

I checked it out. It was the center, not the LG but yes, as you described. First play, second quarter. Called back on a holding call. I don't recall ever seeing it before.

This entire offense is built around Hurts being a dual threat. Like it or hate it, that’s the value he brings and it makes this a unique offense. There are probably only two other teams in the league that can run the scheme they ran against Parsons last night and he was completely neutralized until Lane went out. They made one of the most dynamic defenders in the game look lost with this style. That’s something Minshew can’t bring. Not even close.

Kyron Johnson went for the tackle and gave up the sideline contain.  He was the outside most defender.  Turpin was able to easily make him miss and run up the sideline.

I can’t believe they are 5-1

There are so many, you can't go wrong with any of the highly regarded places. It comes down to what your preference is in a steak. You can look up the places and photos you hear about a lot on Yelp and see what sandwich best fits your tastes. John's Roast Pork, Tony Luke's, Dalessandro's(though I think people overrate this one a bit, but people adore it), and many local pizza places make great steaks as well.

I can't eat them anymore though, it's been years since I've had one so no idea if any of the places changed in quality over the years.

You should go to Reading Terminal Market.  Not a cheesesteak destination, but has DiNic's - great roast pork sandwich (a Philly thing as well).  Plenty of other really great offerings.

People who use Game Manger are really just saying they have no idea how the NFL works.

Aaron Rodgers has been a game manager the last 4 years. Now that he lost Adams he can't manage.

The WCO was a game management offense so Montana and Young and all were game managers.

McNabb is the exception because you have to consistently make basic NFL throws to manage games. Its why a great AR Eagles team would lose games 13-7 with McNabb. He could not manage consistently.

Peyton Manning was a game manager. (run or pass at the line decisions are QB game management 101)

Tom Brady is a game manager.

When the Eagles lose 3 top CBs and Dak starts picking on the UPS guy, that's game management.

When a team starts blitzing you and you screen around them its game management.

When a team goes cover shell and you run it down their throats that's game management.

Its called having a flexible offensive system. Kurt Warner '99 managed the game. Faulk, Faulk, Faulks, Deep Shot. rinse. repeat.

Patrick Mahomes manages the game. Josh Allen manages the game.

The only QB I can think of with sustained success who was not a game manager was Randall because Buddy and Kotite were idiots. He had nothing to manage because they had no NFL level offensive system.

I can only read that usage of "beat" in an American accent because I never hear it used that way in any other accent :P

"Got beat" specifically, I can only hear in a Southern US accent :D

They remind me a bit of the 2001 Bears. With some improbable wins, that team kept winning games they shouldn't have won. They were called a team of destiny, and they were going to win it all. They then got smoked by the Eagles in the first round of the payoffs.

The conference has plunged so deep into mediocrity that I'm not even sure who to root against during the bye week.

NYG and Dallas...meh...we've got 3 games head to head against them and you have to believe in the Eagles taking care of their own business.

I do think the Rams will sort a few things out and will be a factor in the playoffs, but they are on a bye.  We have the Vikings head to head, but I think they are going to ring up a lot of wins this year...bye.  It would be nice to see the Bucs and Packers get driven under .500.  That pushes them completely out of the #1 seed discussion.

I'll probably root for our draft pick with the Cards on Thursday (although I don't think I hate myself enough to watch much of that game) and will pull for Doug against the Giants on Sunday.

The games of this past weekend broke very favorably for the Eagles.  I bolded the "desired" winners above that would produce a similarly favorable outcome.  It all starts on Thursday night.
