Kyron Johnson went for the tackle and gave up the sideline contain.  He was the outside most defender.  Turpin was able to easily make him miss and run up the sideline.

Johnson did the same on the opening kickoff return as well and got a small piece of Turpin to trip him up.  You could tell by Turpin's reaction he very nearly had something big on the return.  He set Johnson up the exact same way that allowed for the bigger return.

I went to the game yesterday with a cousin of mine from Alabama. He was in town for the weekend and wanted to go to the game even though he’s really a Titans fan. But he hates the Cowboys so he was rooting for us. It was arranged in advance for him to get the ticket and that I would meet him at the seat. He went to the stadium about four hours early and wandered around. He wanted to buy an Eagles jersey as a souvenir. He naively thought he could pick one up outside the stadium but was told he could only get one at the store inside.

When he showed up he was wearing a black Dawkins jersey and looked like a real Eagles fan.

So yes, definitely you can get a Dawkins jersey at the stadium. I witnessed it less than 24 hours ago.

Great coaching, but regression is coming. They’re winning on the slimmest of margins.

Yeah daboll has them much more disciplined and winning with very little at wr. I think a regression will hit but their next 4 games are all winnable. At jags, at seattle, vs. Houston and vs. lions. I’d be surprised if they win both jags and seattle on the road. But still even if they go 2-2 to be 7-3 from the dumpster fire they have been is a nice jump. I think around thanksgiving is where the drop would begin but they also have the commanders twice after thanksgiving.

Sold! Thanks for this! Cheap shipping and no import duties, exactly what I wanted!

Also, thanks to those who offered to meet up or have it shipped to them as well, you guys sure know how to make a guy feel sweet!

I suppose I should ask, I've been to Philly once before, and as a tourist, I went to Pat's and Geno's. I know they are looked down upon in here, but the buddies I'll be with will be visiting for their first time. I know it's a touristy thing to do, but, we are tourists, lol.

If I can steer them away from it, is there still a quintessential cheesesteak place to go to? I feel the Pats/Genos whole experience (including the walk down there) is just part of it all...

Jim's Steaks on South Street would be pretty 'touristy' and yet much better.

I say BS. There may be better. But its still something everyone hears about so everyone should experience it. Let them try it for their first time to see what is all about.

If there is a next time, look for something better to compare.

If you want one thats still touristy, but Pats or Genos, you can still do Tony Lukes or Jims.

Tony Lukes is my favorite of the 4 big ones.

I don't like unnecessary shuffling and I acknowledge that we won't be seeing Micah Parsons every week, but I think Dillard LT / Mailata RT when Lane goes down is going to be a better option than Mailata / Driscoll.

I concur with that approach.  I also think getting Jurgens some OG snaps would be wise, although Opeta looked reasonably good when he replaced Dickerson last night (but it was only 3 snaps).

Jim‘s had a bad fire back in August. I don’t think it’s open unless anyone has heard otherwise.

I checked it out. It was the center, not the LG but yes, as you described. First play, second quarter. Called back on a holding call. I don't recall ever seeing it before.

Thanks.   They didn't replay it, because of the hold... but I thought it was an interesting play.   Kelce could definitely do that.

Burned down

People who use Game Manger are really just saying they have no idea how the NFL works.

Aaron Rodgers has been a game manager the last 4 years. Now that he lost Adams he can't manage.

The WCO was a game management offense so Montana and Young and all were game managers.

McNabb is the exception because you have to consistently make basic NFL throws to manage games. Its why a great AR Eagles team would lose games 13-7 with McNabb. He could not manage consistently.

Peyton Manning was a game manager. (run or pass at the line decisions are QB game management 101)

Tom Brady is a game manager.

When the Eagles lose 3 top CBs and Dak starts picking on the UPS guy, that's game management.

When a team starts blitzing you and you screen around them its game management.

When a team goes cover shell and you run it down their throats that's game management.

Its called having a flexible offensive system. Kurt Warner '99 managed the game. Faulk, Faulk, Faulks, Deep Shot. rinse. repeat.

Patrick Mahomes manages the game. Josh Allen manages the game.

The only QB I can think of with sustained success who was not a game manager was Randall because Buddy and Kotite were idiots. He had nothing to manage because they had no NFL level offensive system.

Nah, there are QBs who drive the offense with their talent, Favre was in a WCO but he didn't run it like Montana or Young, he lived to make big plays. Wilson's a big play QB, but take away those plays and he's meh. Mahomes and Allen are athletic QBs with big arms who force plays but get away with it.

Peyton was a game manager, he was just at another level, his vision and decision making was so quick that he'd expose any weakness in a defense, that's what Brady became in 2004.

Eli on the other hand was too inconsistent to manage an offense efficiently, his bread and butter was the deep throw to Burress down the sideline.

Some is coaching, some is scheme, some is the QB. If you don't have the big arm, you have to be more efficient, you're not going to consistently make something out of nothing, so you have to keep "nothing" from developing (recognize the blitz and quickly hit your hot receiver, and so on).

Hurts ceiling will be determined by his mental skills, his arm is good enough but nothing close to elite, his running isn't sustainable at this level (though his body allows him more latitude than taller, leaner QBs like Wentz, he's built like a FB) but should always be there as an option. But it will be his decison making and accuracy that makes or breaks him down the road.

I underestimated some of the teams I thought were among the worst in my season record predictions:

I had the Bears winning 2 games all year, they're already there

I had the Seahawks winning 3 games all year, they're already there

I had the Jets winning 4 games all year, they're already there

I had the Giants winning 5 games all year (maybe 6?), they're at 5 already

I overestimated WASH, as well as some of the top teams from last year (GB, TB, Rams, etc.)

So far, I've been right about the Saints, Cards, Lions, Raiders, Browns, and Steelers.

Jim’s had a fire. It’s closed.

Uh... not exactly.   The term game manager is used to describe the ceiling of the QB, not whether or not an elite QB can 'manage' a game.

Rodgers has the ability to beat a team purely with his arm.
Montana picked apart the Eagles and put up either 3 or 4 4th quarter TDs against the Buddy Ryan defense.

Game managing is a term for a QB who can't take the team up on his shoulders and win the game on the strength of his passing acumen.   A team that has a game manager at the QB position is the type of team that it is generally said of them that they aren't built to come from behind, especially in the 2nd half.  Navy, for example, always has a 'game manager' at QB.

Yup.  They will eventually regress towards the mean.  But, they aren't the 4 win team that many people foresaw.  They might just get to 10 or 11 wins.  They also have a weak schedule.

6 minutes ago, BDawk_ASamuel said:

This entire offense is built around Hurts being a dual threat. Like it or hate it, that’s the value he brings and it makes this a unique offense. There are probably only two other teams in the league that can run the scheme they ran against Parsons last night and he was completely neutralized until Lane went out. They made one of the most dynamic defenders in the game look lost with this style. That’s something Minshew can’t bring. Not even close.

I don't hate it at all.  My biggest issue and I'm not sure if its Hurts limitations or the play calling but the Eagles have elite WR and they aren't being utilized.  The Eagles have a Ferrari, Lamborghini and a Hellcat on the highway and are running the at 45 mph.

Over the last 3 weeks, Hurts has exactly 1 pass further than 20 yards and that was the 23 yard pass he made across his body (a great throw).

LOS or behind: 23

1-5 yards: 9

5-10 yards: 14

10-15 yards: 9

15-20 yards: 1

20-25 yards: 1
