Not a huge loss, but the injuries keep piling up for New Orleans.

  • Perfect weekend for me. I got to make my long time soul mate my wife officially. And I got a eagles win today. Life is good.

  • Listen up blog.  Enough. These 2 ass clowns are suspended for 2 weeks.  They've both had warnings to quit the personal attacks.  There's a line between trash talk and just abusing other posters a

SPeaking of the Cards need them to come up big for us Thursday night. Hopkins will be back. Don't think Winston is gonna get his job back.

That could be huge.  Kyler always plays better when he's playing.

Even if that pick is top-10, unless it means missing out on a QB, the Saints probably still feel good about the trade since Olave has looked so good.

I’m so impressed with CJ 23 dude is a dog and brings some swag and attitude the good kind

Not that it matters but didn't he just sign an extension in the offseason?

the cardinals are a franchise that does things on whims. Fired wilks after one year. Drafted and traded up for rosen to then replace him a year later with Murray.

Who got in the fight with Kelce at the end?

Rough Sunday for the Cardinals

Council Rock guy, hate to see it. Justin is a good dude. This might be the end for him unfortunately. I see him at the golf course a lot out here and it always sounded like he only wanted to play another year or so. He put together a nice 10 year career. Hope it’s not too serious for him.

My take on Hurts at this point is that we probably underrate him in terms of his ability to execute an option offense.  If you set aside his running ability and just look at his decision making in the context of the offense, he does a very good job making the correct choices and executing the plays.  To do that, he doesn't need to be an elite passer.  The question that will be answered with this team is how far can that offense get them.  I don't know that the offense will get them to a Super Bowl.

My bigger concern is still Gannon.  The Cowboys had him figured out because the defense was so readable.  The team was lucky that Rush underthrew that pass to Lamb.  Solak pointed it out in his podcase with Sheil Kapadia.  The Eagles only use Davis in 5 man fronts.  So whenever he's in the defensive huddle they know what the defense is going to be before they call a play.  It's idiotic and simplistic.  The fix is simple and should have been an adjustment after the Cowboys' first TD drive.  They should have given Davis snaps in the 4 man front.  The 93 yard drive was play after play of inexplicable defensive playcalling and use of personnel.  Gannon did nothing to trick them or show some different look.  He plays scared and to not lose rather than to win.

It's still only 6 games, they may be keeping it simple for Davis early in the season, and that limits what they do on defense with him in the game.

The bye week is when you self-scout and make adjustments.  We'll see.

The biggest problem with consistently following that approach is that the other team knows what is coming.  There is no surprise advantage.  So mixing in some passes, especially with receivers the quality of Brown, Smith and Goedert.  Then when the opposing D has to take resources out of the box in pass protection, the O-line has an even greater advantage.  Further, there are opportunities like the Eagles' second completion last night (in the first TD drive) to complete passes to receivers like Jack Stoll.

Of course, but everyone already knows we are a running team and they just can’t stop it. Scheme and play calling only go so far. At the end of the day, our OL is simply better than the other team‘s DL.

Sure, mix in a pass play here and there to keep them somewhat honest and to get those big plays. But just watching the games, we can run the ball at will against anyone. So until a team proves that they can consistently stop it, I would keep running.

End of first half, after their FG?

Yes. After contemplating it for a moment a few minutes ago, I realized that was the situation. There was about 28 seconds left, enough time for the Eagles to try to do something if they were so inclined. In hindsight we know they weren't too interested because Lane Johnson was concussed and Driscoll came in to replace him. I didn't even notice.

If they had kicked it short they could have forced the Eagles to burn off about three or four seconds just getting it back to the twenty-five yard line. That could have been helpful for them. Granted there was the chance the Eagles could have had a big return but I think the chance of that was pretty slim.

So yeah, I was kinda surprised they kicked it through the endzone in that situation.

Wow what a play by sauce

Also great lol

I said it last week but they need to come up with a gadget/trick play for the QB sneak they constantly run on third and forth and short. It’s been working but with how they telegraph it, it’s due to get stuffed in a big situation. Vander Esch sold out going over the top and I’m assuming we’ll see more of that going forward. There’s too many opportunities to catch the defense selling out there for a big play on that.

They may be better off with Heinicke. Wentz just has a way of making everything harder than it needs to be.

Honestly, these days in Philly almost every area except some areas in center city and some areas in NE Philly are sketchy. Don't wanna scare you, but keep your wits about you. The city's homicide rate is bad these days. On a Sunday afternoon traveling public transit with other Eagles fans you should be fine though, I wouldn't worry.

Speaking of this, my public transit to and from the stadium has become a lot more sketchy this year. When I take PATCO from Jersey into the city, it's always been a simple walk underground to catch the subway. I've been doing this for about twenty years. It's all connected via a tunnel. Tons of people around going to the game. It feels pretty safe. Well for some reason they have it gated this year. It's not connected anymore. Maybe to keep the homeless out of the tunnels perhaps? Maybe because of COVID? I really don't know. But everyone is now forced to take the stairs up to the street and then walk about seventy yards to the subway and then back down again. I don't really mind this in the afternoon but the return trip, in the dark, after midnight, is a little unsettling. And there aren't as many people to walk with on the return because most of the people getting off at that stop aren't heading to where I'm going, so you're kind of forced to do it alone.

And it sure seems like this is going to be the norm all year. Perhaps forever.

Injury prone. So glad we got 2017 out of him

Lucky for us, the Eagles rarely allow teams to come back in the second half after a double digit lead.

Right, @Iggles_Phan ??

I could be wrong, butI don't believe the plan was ever to think of Driscoll as primary OT depth.  I'll defer to @justrelax but I believe Driscoll is decent OG depth.  The Dillard situation is a bit maddening, but it also is a first world problem.  Also, Brett Toth's absence is a bit maddening, but it is what it is.  I'm inclined to believe Toth would be a better option at RT than Driscoll.

Not sure.  He's not been healthy, but hasn't played much either.  It's just weird.

But wasn't that their own pick? I think the pick the Eagles traded was the one they used for that offensive tackle who's been injured.
