Bummed that we're missing Wentz in Philly. A coward.

   So, you are suggesting that Wentz hurt his hand on purpose to avoid coming to Philly?

You are right. Here's Pollard's 14-yard run. The culprit of this piece is Edwards, who fails to find his run fit.

Davis is in the square, Edwards in the oval.

Davis is doubled but both LBs are clean at this point. Edwards has help on his left. His responsibility is the A gap straight up the hash. Davis has clogged the other A gap.

Instead, Edwards runs himself into the back of Davis, leaving his A gap wide open.

And Pollard goes for 14.

Edwards face after the play said all that and more, he knew he messed up on that at.

Needs to be better.

Here's some stats extrapolated for the rest of the season:

Hurts- 4200 passing yards, 17 Passing TDs, 830 Rushing Yards, and 17 Rushing TDs

Sanders - 1300 rushing yards, 11 Rushing TDs

Smith - 1100 receiving yards, 8 Receiving TDs, 93 Catches

Brown - 1400 receiving yards, 6 Receiving TDs, 93 Catches

Goedert - 1000 receiving yards, 3 Receiving TDs, 74 Catches

Watkins - 250 receiving yards, 3 Receiving TDs, 17 Catches

Obviously these will all come down a good bit, but for a college offense this is a pretty good pace.

That's a lot of yards for only 17 pass tds, would like to see hurts toss some more, especially in the 2nd half.

Of course not.

Him choosing to have surgery was indeed a choice.

I know it's not going to happen but I wish we could cut down on the Hurts rushing. There's just so many weapons

It's a symptom of Sirianni's obsession with turnovers.

He trusts Hurts with the ball in his hands above anything else.

So, you are suggesting he is deciding to get surgery to avoid coming to Philly?    You think not getting surgery he'd be able to play in 4 weeks with a broken ring finger on his throwing hand?

I watched the last TD drive to Smith.  The first play ("A taste of Landon Dickerson down your throat") looked like counter trey to the right.  Then later they ran in the other way with Seumalo and Driscoll pulling left.  Then again after the CJCG second INT.

@justrelax, please tell me I saw that correctly.

You did. One right after the other.

Wentz obviously made the best possible decision for his career. He should get the surgery.

I do think he's not exactly rushing to come back.

I don't think that he'd be back in 4 weeks with or without the surgery.   And I think Washington is fine with him coming back slow to save the draft capital.

Weird

There probably is no concussion to report on, just the new rules post Tua are so overdone that even the slightest rung bell is going to go in to concussion protocol.

Oh wow so even when Carson gets hurt they still take the opportunity to take a bit of a swipe at him.

Not at all.  Heinicke has been there for two years and started 15 games for them.  This is his 2nd full season in the offense.

As noted earlier, another option to Driscoll is Dillard at LT and Mailata at RT.  They can use the 2-3 weeks to prep that.

Dont like that option. Weakens both sides just let jordan do his thing at a high level

They probably have no interest in saying anything about a concussed player right now, especially the day after the game. They'll give it some time. Luckily we have a bye coming up.

It's amusing that national media is still all over Dallas like they'll be better than the Eagles with Dak since the game ended up close. I guess I shouldn't be surprised at this point anymore. Having big injuries really threw a wrench into the game with Lane and CGJ (even though he came back in the 4th) but we still managed to come out ahead.

Let Driscoll get back to repping on the right during practice.

Making decisions after Driscoll subbed in mid-game against the likely DPOY isn't a sound move.

Would be nice to have him available in the bull pen.

I think the Eagles should sign DeSean as a returner but I doubt they will for chemistry reasons.

Hurts is through his first 6 games, and I said I would try to evaluate in 6-game stretches rather than a knee jerk reaction after each game early in the year.  So, no knee-jerk evaluation -- just jerk evaluation to this point:

123/184, 66.8%, 6 TD passes and 2 INT, 6 TD runs, 77 runs against 184 passes = 41.8% rate runs/passes.  He's been credited with 3 fumbles but those are exchange related (?)

His completion percentage is well above what I predicted for this season, which was 62.8%.  A 3:1 TD/INT ratio is positive, although a bit light in TD passes.  Trending better than last season's 16 TD and 9 INT.  Still don't like the frequency with which he's running -- history says these dual threat (running) QBs don't fare very well at playoff time.

Really good start so far.  Hasn't cost the Eagles any games, nor come close to.  Had some prolific passing stats in Week 2 and 3.  He faced a strong defense Sunday night against DAL and delivered on what I'd hoped -- no turnovers and a clean, if unspectacular, stat line.

Right now, Hurts is 7th in passing yards, 9th in completion percentage, tied for 17th in passing TDs (but the Eagles are 3rd in the NFL with 20 TDs, behind only the Chiefs and Bills) -- and the Eagles are 4th in points-per-game.  All good stuff and a team record of 6-0

The downside to the Wentz injury is that he probably won't hit the 70% threshold to give the Colts their 2nd round pick.

Eh. Frankly, F the Colts. I really don't care.
