My bigger concern is still Gannon.  The Cowboys had him figured out because the defense was so readable.  The team was lucky that Rush underthrew that pass to Lamb.  Solak pointed it out in his podcase with Sheil Kapadia.  The Eagles only use Davis in 5 man fronts.  So whenever he's in the defensive huddle they know what the defense is going to be before they call a play.  It's idiotic and simplistic.  The fix is simple and should have been an adjustment after the Cowboys' first TD drive.  They should have given Davis snaps in the 4 man front.  The 93 yard drive was play after play of inexplicable defensive playcalling and use of personnel.  Gannon did nothing to trick them or show some different look.  He plays scared and to not lose rather than to win.

I try to remember that these guys know what they are doing but Gannon does so many things that are inexplicable to me. Is it analytics or some philosophy? It seems so obviously vanilla and boring.

If I’m Denver my defense is too good to be having the offense and play calling to be this poor. with the lack of picks I’d make a decision to go all in on Sean Payton

But it would cost picks to the Saints to get Payton. He's still under contract. This notion that he's a free agent who can be had for nothing is off-base.

That's why the Saints were willing to trade us their first rounder next year. They were always thinking that they were going to be getting a big haul from some other team for Payton.

My assumption was during the offseason they’d do it and not waste another year with how this defense is. I don’t see them firing hackett now and he gets at least this year. My comment was seeing my defense play this well i can’t give Hackett a second year with this offense being as miserable as it is and bad play calling. I already went all in with Russell Wilson, so I’m tied to him. So i have to find a way to salvage him. If that means investing more into a coach like Payton I’d do it. But i also don’t think the compensation the saints are going to get is close to what they think for him. I don’t see them getting a first.  ultimately likely settle for some picks with conditions on them based off Payton’s success.

I also think the Broncos would be willing to give up some compensation for him. Because id guess they likely believe if they’re willing to go after Payton that he can resurrect Russell Wilson and this offense. Which, if he’s able to would be worth the compensation because they have a defense that’s good enough to win a championship. if you can get the offense on track and Russ playing well again, they will be a Super Bowl contender. The question is whether they still believe Russell Wilson is able to be salvaged by Sean Payton. If they don’t think he is salvageable, then i don’t think due to the compensation they’d be willing to do it. But I’m guessing with everything they gave up to get Wilson just this offseason that they likely feel he probably is salvageable, willing to work out a deal for Payton. they’re gonna need to go another direction regardless  with how Hackett is coaching

I look at the Broncos this way. That defense  is championship caliber defense. They have weapons on offense that are good enough to compete for a championship. Really this comes down to poor coaching going on and being able to get Russell Wilson to play at the level we’ve seen him do in the past. With everything the Broncos have invested in Russell Wilson it’s highly likely they are going to want to invest more to try to get him back on track. that’s the only way they’re close to winning a championship. I can’t see them blowing it up or just sitting back, i see them being aggressive this offseason and firing Hackett if the offense continues like this.

@TorontoEagle

Saw that as of today you can have Uber Eats deliver pot right to your door in Toronto. Next they need a two for one deal where about an hour later they deliver food for your munchies.

Uber eats has been a thing here for like 5 years now, we use it often. I used it more often as a single guy living on my own, but I cook a lot now and have really enjoyed the dive into it.

And I have a full drawer in the house dedicated to munchies, don’t you worry

A bye week then 8 total wins between next 4 opponents.  This season is setting up nicely.

Do you want fine or do you want what the Cowboys returner was able to do?  Just like I want more passes longer than 5 yards, I want more PR that are more than fair catches or 4 yards.

Who is available that could provide that?   Fine beats Reagor.  It's even an upgrade over Ward.   Covey is better than both of them... not by much, but better none the less.

Incidentally, Covey is averaging 6.6 yards/return.  So, you don't have to settle for 4 yards.  ;)

There’s always Desean Jackson, because, you know, he was good 12 years ago!

I mean the 2 point conversion was introduced into the NFL in 1994, the last year Kotite was the coach of the Eagles. He then only coached two more years before he was out of football.

I would imagine that it was not a concept that many coaches understood back then.

It’s basically simple math. It really isn’t that hard.

For some... even basic math is hard.  Trust me.

Hey guys just wanted to wish you all luck with your Phillies. I hope they go all the way for you. Hurts still looking pretty good as is the whole team. Maybe Siri isn't the doofus that he looks like. I also wanted to post a picture of this bad boy I took up in Maine in Sept.

Nice.  Hope all is well.

Ok…here’s an exercise.  Without looking up stats, just going off feel…rank where you think each unit on the team is relative to the rest of the nfl based on these 6 games only:

QB: top 10, not top 5

RB: top 10, not top 5

WR/TE: Top 5

OL: Top 5

DL (including edge): just outside top 5

LB: Top 10

DB: #1

ST: not top 20

Sirianni maybe goofy, but he can coach.  After watching the Broncos/Chargers games, badly coached and played, it's clear coaching around the league isn't good.  I am enjoying Russell Wilson looking like a player that used all his luck up in Seattle.

What Olines do you have better than Philadelphia?

Several, if you factor in health.

But no OL has better coaching.

Browns have to be up there

We’ve had to construct the game plans in consecutive games because the OL couldn’t create a pocket due to injuries.  I think this shuffle has been and will be more of a problem than anyone is acknowledging.

Or better talent.  And the intersection of elite talent with elite coaching is a beautiful thing.  But they need to finish games.

This is a more complex question, but I have them firmly in the top 3. Only team I'd consider swapping for is Cleveland. We have Dillard/Jurgens on the bench. They'd be starting for a ton of teams

We have Dillard/Jurgens on the bench and yet Driscoll/Opeta are the ones playing major snaps off the bench every week, thus continuing the paradox of this OL.
