he’s still top 15-20. Also the next 11 players behind him only 5 have had a bye. And one of them is Mike Williams who’s currently hurt. So he’s very likely to be a top 15 wr who hasn’t played with his starting QB for more than half of his games all year.

He’s currently 18th in yards per game, including Deandre Hopkins who despite missing g the first 6 weeks is on pace to outproduce him. I feel another bet coming on…

Bet that CeeDee doesn’t finish top 15 in total receiving yards?

I read an article about that - he was pretty smart.  He offered a big promo where he sold a bunch of mattresses and said if the Astros won it all he would give the customers their money back.  Sold a ton of mattresses apparently.  Win win for him.

Yea he basically used that as a hedge. Still lose some coin at the end of the day, but its a pretty smart promotion. I think it's Caesars Casino that said on a quarterly call they aren't sure if they are going to turn a profit for the quarter and it basically depends on if they have to pay this dude or not.

Hopkins was so low on draft boards because of the suspension...  #illtakeit

This is why the Eagles' cap situation looks worse than it is, before diving into anything.

The cap situation is not good, but it's not catastrophic either. There are teams like the Packers, Bucs, Saints who are capped out, have old rosters AND don't have premium picks. We have the assets to get out of this.

It will just suck to lose some good players this off-season, but even then that means comp picks in 2024.

It might mean comp picks...

I’m not going to bet that cause i have to cheer for him and i don’t want to do that. I already have to hope for the giants in our other bet. I still think he’s gonna finish top 20 which is still a very good WR. He isn’t is an elite receiver. I’m just saying you act like he sucks and he can’t be a difference maker on that team or that the offense we saw week 6 with rush, a hurt Schultz and a slowly returning Gallup isn’t going to be different as the season continues and likely better. They are likely much different on offense when we see them week 15 as to what they were week 6. If you think the cowboys on offense are less of a challenge to the eagles with Dak than cooper rush then more power to you. I think Dak is overrated but when healthy and guys around him are healthy that offense is better than what they were running with rush

Hopkins is an elite receiver. I wouldn’t expect lamb to be that. This would be like acting like devonta smith should put up Hopkins numbers. Neither are of that class

Hopefully it's just him not putting the cart before the horse. It would be crazy if he started Thor up 3-1. Unless his plan is to start Thor for 3 and bring wheeler in hopefully with a lead for 4 and let Alvarado and seranthony finish it off, idk how comfortable wheeler is doing that though. Also makes no sense to do that, just start wheeler lol

Thor may be a better choice vs Wheeler with nothing left in the tank.

I’m pheeling a 3-1 lead tonight. Nola isn’t perfect, but the bats stay hot. Slug fest.

If we are up 3-1 there’s no way Topper let’s game 5 be a bullpen/Thor game, right?

I pheel like ya gotta throw Wheeler out there.

Given the way he was able to manage the bullpen last night, the idea of Syndergaard starting followed by the bullpen does not bother me a bit.  Wheeler can use the extra rest.

I think context is important in the conversation. CeeDee lamb consistently getting 60 yards a game and eclipsing 1000 for the season is very nice for a slot receiver on that football team. But in referencing the Dallas Cowboys’ dangerous passing attack vs strong pass defenses such as ours, he’s just not that guy.

I don’t believe Schultz being healthy and Gallup being healthy is going to improve CeeDee’s performance. Instead, they’re going to take from it. There are a lot of receivers in the NFL today who are elite or fringe elite, and there are tiers you have to get through before you entertain CeeDee’s position in the hierarchy. Dallas is void of a strong individual receiving threat that can change the course of a game, But that doesn’t dispute that Gallup and CeeDee are still good at their jobs.

Agree.  If the skipper thinks this is the way to go I am on board.  Win tonight and have all these choices to grab 1 more across 3.

And his thinking may further be influenced by what is better, to have his BP game in Game 5 in Philly versus on the road in Game 6.

To me, royal blue is just blah.  It's too basic, especially when mixed with red.

I'm probably in the minority but my favorite Phils uniform is the 80s white pinstripes that accompanied the baby blues.  Maroon is such an underused color in professional sports. Also, love the old cursive P versus the script P.

I think combining their maroon with cream would look incredible.

If they’re up 3-1 after tonight, Wheeler may have all off-season to rest. You use whoever gives you the best chance to win it at the Bank tomorrow night. The question then becomes…is that Wheeler, or is Noah/Bullpen?

They don’t need lamb to be that elite guy if those guys are healthy. Also lamb is averaging nearly 70 yards per game and that was largely with cooper rush. So i don’t know where you are getting 60 yards per game. Also since Dak has returned two weeks ago he’s averaging 73.5, 16.3 yards per reception and .5 td  C093250E-47A1-4A27-85F4-48CD9EF64419.thumb.jpeg.824119d85b84d41afb6f2d2c0ce4c626.jpeg

Again he’s on pace for 1181 yards and 6 tds. that’s not just barely eclipsing a 1000. He’d be on pace for 1100 yards in a 16 game season and he did that with a backup Qb for more than half of his games,  backups playing significant snaps at TE and the other WR positions.

again their offense as a whole doesn’t need him being Hopkins if schultz and Gallup are healthy and producing. You keep thinking lamb needs to be the guy like Hopkins or guys of that tier for them to be a more formidable opponent for when we face them next. Dak being back helps. Gallup being healthier helps. Schultz being healthier helps. Those things make them a bigger challenge the next time then the first. Just pointing out when we won the Super Bowl we didn’t have that Hopkins type of guy either. My original argument was Dallas and niners are the two biggest challenges to the eagles in the nfc. I went into largely cause Dak coming back is an upgrade over rush, i think lamb starts playing better? getting guys healthy like Gallup and schultz are gonna make them better. You seem to be stuck on crapping on lamb as not that guy meaning their entire offense can’t be more of a challenge with those 3 all healthier and playing better then what we faced week 6

again i never said he was elite or that guy. You are just poo pooing his production like they can’t be more of a challenge with him starting to play better with Dak and those guys all getting healthier. He’s still top 10 currently and is on pace with the rest of the league to finish top 20 in yards and receptions. Does he do what Hopkins or aj brown would do for that offense? No but they don’t need him to be for them to be better on offense then what we saw week 6 with Dak back, schultz back and Gallup healthier

(A) and (B) are not mutually exclusive.  Our turnover margin is directly impacted by Hurts.  The guy that handles the ball on every play has only thrown two INTs and hasn't fumbled while carrying the ball.  Your question would be more relevant if you just used the 16 takeaways.  And then I'd argue that the takeaway count is bolstered by the leads our Hurts-led offense creates.

Unlike many here in the Blog I don't think with a polarized, mutually exclusive. I agree wholeheartedly that they are not mutually exclusive.  Their venn diagram looks somewhat like this:

venn-diagram-1629776731.png

The thrust of my question was whether the non-overlapped portion of (A) or the non-overlapped portion of (B) has been a more important contributor to the Eagles 7-0 record?

Should’ve asked for top 20. I think top 15 can get skewed at the end of the season where if Dallas has nothing to play for week 18 he sits. Top 20 usually have a cushion if that happens .

All good points.  That is why he is the skipper.  He is the best possible person to make the best decision.

Note: how the bullpen is used tonight will have a significant effect on the decision as well.

🤷‍♂️I've stated multiple times how much I love the aesthetics of sports.  Ever since getting my first gum ball machine helmet and pack of football cards, I've loved everything uniform, equipment, on field logos and the all around look of not only football but all sports.  Have some great books that cover the best photographs in sports history.  As a teenager, I collected SI covers and created a SI mural of sorts.  Always wanted to get in to uniform design but just never followed through with it. I'm an enormous nerd when it comes to equipment, especially helmets.   I could probably tell you the type of helmet and facemask every Eagle and the majority of NFL players have worn throughout their careers.  It's a completely useless piece of knowledge I have.  I can remember back in my Madden/NCAA days, I would spend days making sure every player down to the long snapper on every team was wearing the correct gear.

Just a few fun facts about this years team.

-Jalen Hurts generally switches his cleats after the first few drives or at half time.  Usually wears one dark pair of cleats (black or green) and then a white pair.  All are different models of Jordan cleats.

-Hasson Reddick has worn the Riddell Speedflex for the majority of his career but has used the Riddell Axiom for a few games this year.  He's even switched helmets mid game (mostly rain games because the Axiom has built in visor).

Reddick's big game highlights Temple's NFL week three effortEagles' Haason Reddick looking forward to another game in Arizona

-Jordan Davis switched his facemask from a custom mask to a more open facemask against the Steelers.

Can Jordan Davis be the future of the Philadelphia Eagles' defense?

-Bradberry was in the Riddell Speedflex to start the year but is now in a Schutt F7.

That's just top of my head stuff I can rattle off from paying attention to it while watching the game.  It's fun for me and I've always loved it.

@NCiggles  It's also a reason I get so frustrated that PE.com and the Philly media has become so terrible with their OTA/TC coverage of the team.  I loved getting to see what new gear guys are wearing or how FA/draft picks look in their new Eagles gear. Now we get nothing. I used to love getting my Eagles Digest and seeing the photos.  I always loved that in the Kelly Green, the team had to earn their wings and wore blank helmets during TC.  Can remember how excited I was to see Ricky Watters in his Eagles uniform.

My bad if posted.

Good point about pen use tonight. I’m praying Nola puts his foot on their throats and demoralizes them going down 3-1. Javier looks so damn good against the Yankees in the ALCS. We got a stress free watch last night…I’m betting tonight is one where I’m calling the pharmacy for beta blockers again.

Have a feeling today comes down to a potential walk off. Have a feeling stott has a big moment in this game.

you’ll know if nola is on if he gets to two strikes and he can get guys to swing and miss or get outs. He tends to get in trouble with 2 strikes and not being able to put the hitter away. I tend to think the pressure is on the Astros that they come out aggressive and try to take the crowd out of it early. So i expect a lot of first pitch swings early
