I have upper deck seats in the end zone looking at the play develop going away from me. It’s an excellent view. If I were to talk through my thoughts as the play was unfolding, this is what it would have sounded like:

"They’re going deep. He’s got Watkins wide open. This should be a touchdown! Oh no, the throw is off target. I hope he still catches it. YES, he caught it. Get up! Be careful, don’t fumble. Oh dammit he fumbled. Maybe he’ll recover it. Damn it, he didn’t. F!”

I remember specifically having that instant of worry about him fumbling because I could sense the danger.

It was not a perfectly thrown ball. A perfectly thrown ball would have resulted in a touchdown. But it did get there and he caught it. At that point, any criticism should be directed at Watkins because he didn’t properly assess the danger in getting up with the ball to run.

Thanks, I appreciate the first hand view, it's tough to see it all on the tube.

I keep seeing this argument that the Eagles could have had Parsons. They couldn't. The Cowboys only traded back because they knew the Eagles were taking Smith. If they thought for one second the Eagles were drafting Parsons, that trade never happens.

Possibly yeah, maybr Howie trades up, though not likely.

I remember pre draft I said I thought Parsons was the best player in the draft and if he's there at eagles pick they should take him but won't because they don't value LBs and I'm not sure they would see him as an edge rusher as much as he has become.

So yeah even if he was there I doubt they draft him.

Rattler with a nice game so far .

We were supposed to be in Indy right now visiting the children’s museum before hitting up the Lego store to design mini figs of the family.

Instead we had to put our dog down after a well-lived 17 years. He got sick Thursday night and never recovered. Pour one out for Rowdy.

Sorry bro, that really sucks, glad you got 17 years...

@ManuManu Justbombs on youtube must have been reading the blog and decided to do a vid on Witherspoon.

I might have missed but did the Eagles not elevate anyone for tomorrow? Curious decision. You’d think they could use Wilson to decrease snaps and ease in Joseph. Also the CB situation is the same but they didn’t elevate Goodrich this time.

I would rather watch Covey return punts for 5 yards the rest of the year instead of having to watch another person do the effing griddy dance.

If Suh/Joseph both play, they won't need Wilson.

Sucks.  Been through it a few times now.

Sorry for you but happy for Rowdy. He got you his whole life.  The life of a dog with a good human (even an average one) is unFingbelievable for the dog.   And pretty swell for us too, but for the loss.

Soon it will be all good memories after the sting fades. And then it is time to hit the shelter to take advantage of the fact that we live longer than them. We get to have as many of them as we want. It is a scientific fact that you can always fit another dog.

what a throw by Caleb Williams and great job keeping his eyes down the field

Disagree. Tuipulotu played almost 50% of the snaps last week. That’s a lot to ask out of Suh/Joseph. And that still leaves Cox taking way too many snaps.

A lot of snaps were played last week by the defense.

In a usual week, 50% of the snaps is a much smaller number.

It's just not worth it. I would love an elite RB in this offense but only 2 out of the top 10 rushers last year were first rounders. It's a terrible cost/benefit ratio when you can get top end guys in the middle rounds.

Bad example. Breece hall was RB1 and looked elite pre ACL. Ken walker was RB2 and looks amazing. I’m not saying sell out and buy ANY "best” RB in a class. I’m saying don’t shy away from a true blue chip RB prospect.

conventional wisdom is TE, safety, Rb shouldn’t be drafted at the top. Occasionally there are exceptions. Bijan is one. If the saints pick ends up being either the third best edge or Bijan, give me bijan all day.

would someone please shoot that mother efen rooster!

I’m usually against taking a first round running back but I’m more open to it if it’s around pick 28-32 and he’s the best available player on your board. I wouldn’t do it if there’s better options/players available there but I’m not nearly as against it in that range especially if you think he can be a special type of back.

Cs drop 63 on the Vols.

It was a just survive this weekend in college football. Michigan nearly got upset and pulled it out in the final seconds and ditto with Tcu. Ohio state was down to Maryland at the half And Maryland had the ball down 6 with 10 mins to go. And Georgia had a tough game against Kentucky.

with Tennessee losing I’m curious to see who’s gonna be at 4 in the new college playoff rankings after the Ohio state and Michigan game next week. LSU has two losses (and faces Georgia in SEC title game so likely outside looking in in the end), bama has two losses, usc if they beat ucla has 1, Clemson has one and OSU or Michigan has 1. Could see if that game is a close neither moving out of the top 4

USC and UCLA might want to play some defense.

Holy crap what a throw by Williams there though.

Game is set up for UCLA to win it here.

Williams just has the look of an NFL QB.  Will probably be the #1 pick when he goes pro.

Not saying he is Patrick Mahomes or will ever be as good as Patrick Mahomes, but the part that reminds me of mahomes in him is when the play looks dead. he finds a way with his athleticism and legs to keep it alive and somehow make a backbreaking type play with his arm.

That's pretty much what I see in him.  He has that Mahomes kind of play making.
