Should result in a $350k fine for the team, a $100k fine for Taylor, a $50k fine for the DC and a $50k fine for the player under NFL rules. So obvious.

I thought the NFL was turning a blind eye to this stuff - during the GB game I thought they were faking to change personnel when we’d go hurry up (usually after converting a short situation).

Are we expecting Maddox to come back this week?

In theory Goedert could come back next week? They said he got rid of his shoulder sling and he's on track.

I am a good golfer but think the free throw is the easiest to execute

Yet, we are 11-1 with arguably the best roster in the league.

Show me a team that consistently hits on their draft picks.  Filling a paragraph with Chip picks and other day-3 misses isn't convincing.

They have a QB on a rookie deal.  So they chose to invest heavily at the next four important places on the field: OL, DL, WR (Brown), and CB (Slay).  Tell me that's misguided.

I agree with all your points.  I'm going to try and chase down an analysis of draft picks on a team by team basis.  So far I haven't found what I'm looking for, but did run into a couple of interesting things.  One is the following graphic:

The other is this linked article on how various teams use their Draft picks.

Is there any more overhyped story in sports right now than "where is Odell going to sign?" A dude who averaged 38 yards per game last year coming off a major injury he suffered in February? He's not that good anymore and that was before the injury.

Admittedly though, it will be funny when he signs somewhere other than Dallas, simply because their fans and organization seem to think this is like recruiting Randy Moss in his prime, because he's not going to the Cowboys.

Yup - he played 8 games and caught 27 passes for 305 yards last season with the Rams.  He's now coming off an ACL injury.  He wil be the Robert Quinn of veteran WR signings.

Beats talked briefly to Maddox last week who said something along the lines of "Hamstrings are a tricky thing". Depends how you interpret that but it's pretty different than what Jordan Davis and Dallas Goedert have been saying about coming back soon.

It’s all a fake story so he can come back and get extra hype!

Am I doing it right @Sack that QB?

So is a FG, assuming we're playing by the rules of each. Kicking it straight at the goalposts is easy, getting it over a human wall is much harder.

Free throw and putt are the only ones without direct defense. Give me a free throw.

Indeed

And he was the #2 WR across from arguably the best WR in the league… I don’t think Ceedee requires a ton of extra attention.

3 teams, 3 years. The dude is as popular as Prince Harry was at his Gran's funeral

So, $10M does seem reasonable.

I recall desean pulling in a big catch for the ravens two weeks ago…I’m amazed he isn’t hurt yet

I’d be stunned if that’s all he got. Even for 9

I thought he’d be closer to 400 million. But based off what’s being reported, they think the most he’s going to get is 350. I guess it would make sense because the only two teams in this race are the Giants and the Yankees. So maybe neither is willing to go over a certain mark. I guess if there’s a Darkhorse, who comes in, it might increase the amount that he’s going to get. But as of now it’s been giants or Yankees.

6 foot putt is easier. I don't think kicking a FG would be that easy at all.  Sure making it over the cross bar isn't that hard but you have to make it over the 6'5" guys jumping arms extended 7 yards away from it.  Penalty kicks are easier than FGs.  Free throw would probably be the easiest followed by the putt and then the penalty kick.

We didn’t need him. covey just had the craziest return game in the last 30 years.

The Giants makes sense because he’s from northern California. The Dodgers might be considering the fact they just lost turner. So they could probably use some of the money they were going to pay turner into a judge. Not sure if Cincinnati has that type of money to do that contract.

Wentz and Prince Harry are the same person, so .....

So now that we know Howie has unearthed some UDFA gems this year, as per the norm, when do we see Josh Jobe & Mario Goodrich starting. And Carson Strong... for the Colts? 🤪

NFL warns teams about faking injuries

Posted by Mike Florio on December 4, 2022, 7:28 PM EST

From time to time, defenses perhaps try to take the steam out of potent offenses that want to play with increased tempo by having one or more players pretend to be injured. The league office isn’t pretending to be unhappy about that.

On Friday, the league office sent a memo to all teams warning against "deliberate actions to delay the game.” Otherwise known as fake injuries.

Here’s the full language:

"The NFL continues to emphasize the importance of upholding the integrity of the game and competitive fairness as our highest priority. We have observed multiple instances of clubs making a deliberate attempt to stop play unnecessarily this season. Pages A18 and A66. of the 2022 Policy Manual for Member Clubs — Game Operations state the following:

‘Any deliberate attempt by a team and/or player to stop play unnecessarily; prolong or delay the process; improperly take advantage of a stoppage in play; or influence the actions of an ATC Spotter will be’ considered an ‘unfair act’ and may result in discipline, in addition to any on-field penalty assessed by the Game Officials.

‘Clubs and players are advised that, should the League office determine that there is reasonable cause, all those suspected of being involved in faking injuries will be interviewed and medical records will be reviewed. . . .’

"Clubs and individuals determined to be in violation of this rule will be subject to League discipline ‘to include a minimum fine of $350,000 for the club, a minimum fine of $100,000 for the head coach, a minimum fine of $50,000 for assistant coaches, if applicable, and a minimum fine of $50,000 for players. Please be advised that violations of this rule may also result in suspensions of persons involved, and/or the forfeiture of a draft choice(s), including for first offenses. Clubs, club personnel (including head coaches and assistant coaches), and players have been held accountable for their actions this season.”

Per a league source, there are multiple cases currently under investigation when it comes to fake injuries.

He played STs yesterday like he had been singled out for playing badly. I noticed he avoided the blockers.  Christian Elliss may have been a threat to our underperforming reserve LBs on STs.

Possible, but I think he'll shine more on D than on ST.
