  • Perfect weekend for me. I got to make my long time soul mate my wife officially. And I got a eagles win today. Life is good.

  • Listen up blog.  Enough. These 2 ass clowns are suspended for 2 weeks.  They've both had warnings to quit the personal attacks.  There's a line between trash talk and just abusing other posters a

So Staley gets pounded for his 4th down decisions but he did well tonight,

He went for it 2x from inside the 10 and got 7 instead of 3 and 3.

If he got the 6 then Miami would have been down 1 score at the end instead of 2.

We watched that Hurts game. He was great.

The refs ignored a facemask tackle on Goedert and Watkins had a stupid fumble.

The last 6 points were on a game ender desperation fumblerooski.

Pretending otherwise is a bad argument.

I'm open to hearing special circumstances for why Herbert is really an MVP level 23-25 record starter. and 6-6, 7-6, or 6-7 this year.

2 picks and 3 FG drives vs a 4-13 team does not apply.

Hurts is 2-5 when his team gives up 30+ (2-0 this year) Herbert is 2-11

Its a tough deal. Mahomes is 7-10 and that's about the best.

Like Herbert, but over-rated. Been on national TV way too much this year. League is desperate for young QBs to take the mantle from the Bradys and Wilson's of the league and they want to anoint these peeps and pump them early and often. Yes, he's the prototype build and has a lot of potential. Feel the same way about Burrow as well. They fit that golden all american boy look at QB.  These guys have not been consistent this year, but as soon as they have 2 or 3 good games in a row they forget all these bad games they have had.

39 of 51 is pretty awesome. You'd like more than 23 points but he got the win.

His last two games have been really poor. That said i hated the dolphins game plan at the start. Chargers are 31st in run defense. That’s their biggest weakness. dolphins came out throwing it. Felt like they were trying to prove a point that tua could win this game passing it just as much as herbert. Got down 10, lost Wilson and then cause tua was struggling the offense never was able to get on track.

So Deebo injury might just be a high ankle sprain?  What a drama Queen if so

Hurts has overtaken Mahomes as the new MVP favourite

MGM has him at -125. Bring it home Jalen!

Probably puts him out til the wild card round and frankly when you play that position and what he does that seems like it’s still not long enough to be completely recovered

Also, thanks to Tua's performance tonight:

Didn’t realize Blankenship was carted off

I’m surprised no reporter asked about his injury after the game. Maybe one did but I’ve seen nothing about it

Feel awful for him. He was coming into his own nicely and was a nice contributor for them with CJ out. Hoping for the best, but that piece of crap field probably took another victim.

What does that stat tell you?

To me, it says the Chargers defense has been so bad it gave up almost twice as many 30+ score games, which would be hard for any QB to overcome, relatively speaking. Eagles have only scored more than 30 points 5 times this season out of 13 games, and it’s one of the best offenses in the league. Then let’s look at the two 30+ score games this year allowed by defense. Lions and Packers. Neither games were particularly close between a win and a loss.

This game is too much of a team sport to throw out team statistics to apply it to one person.

If you choose to re-watch the game, you'll enjoy the blocking by Stohl and Calcaterra.  Calcaterra has become a key contributor as a rookie.  Quez, Marlon, now Grant...nice run of 6th round picks.

Chargers defense has been an issue for a while now. They hired Staley thinking he’d take them to another level. And yet they’ve actually been worse with him. Theses are the chargers defensive total defense ranking and ppg ranking from the year before they hired Staley and the 2 years with staley

2020: 10th yards allowed and 23rd ppg

2021: 23rd yards allowed and 30th ppg

2022 (before tonight’s game): 23rd yards allowed and 28th

also not helping chargers matters in blowing leads late is they can’t run the ball. They’ve been awful this year and were not very good last year. in 2021, they were 21st in rushing and 16th in yards per carry. They’ve gotten a significantly worse in 2022, they are 31st in rushing yards and 30th in yards per carry.

I didn't see this til now but what a Fing effort by Knox

And you have this with penei Sewell

There’s an argument to be made the best team in the afc right now might be the bengals. If Higgins injury isn’t serious then their offense is getting healthy at the right time. Their defense seems to have also turn the corner over the past couple weeks. There’s an outside chance if they win out (beat the bills in week 17) and the chiefs stumble once down the stretch then they could get the no. 1 seed. won 5 in a row and 7 of 8.

On offense i think they have better overall playmakers than the chiefs. I also think they have a better running game than the both the chiefs and bills. Burrow showed last year he can beat a mahomes in the biggest stage. With the injuries to the bills defense, i think cincy’s defense is closer. And like last year they seem to be getting better and better down the stretch. Chiefs defense seems to be worse. Gave up 27 or more in 3 of 4 games.

Sewell is no Lane Johnson, (all he does is catch touchdowns), but that was cool.

No one said he was an MVP. No one said he's having a better year than Hurts. It was a conversation based on the idea that Hurts was better than Herbert and "it's not close", based on a single season when Herbert has been vastly superior overall in their careers to this point.

Winning is important, which no one disputed, but it's also a team game which is intentionally being ignored and like I said last night, gives you a bias for our players. You going on about how great Hurts was in the Washington game, but he lost because of xyz is a prime example.

I can't speak for everyone, but I never said I would swap them or wanted/expected to. Hurts works for our team and for our offense. We're firing on all cylinders right now.

Having said that...I know this might be a scary thought, but it's okay to be happy with our own players and give other players props, too.

Since the commanders game and us adding suh and joseph we've really improved on stopping the run. Considering how bad we were, those guys were great additions. Tackling is clearly much better too.

Colts - 99 yards, 84 for Taylor

GB - 106 yards

Titans - 87 yards - 30 for Henry

Giants - 123 yards - 28 for barkey

Interesting. Been a couple months at least since I’ve had one. I can see the ad now though…

What helped so much the past 3 weeks really is the offense going off and forcing the opposing offense to play keep up/catch up.

Man, I hope Mike Leach pulls through.  One of my favorite sports personalities.
