Week 1

On my prediction you left out the part where I said Hurts has 2 TDs on one drive.

Don't disrespect Squirt Dog like that.

It may be to avoid having to count the 53rd player against the Cap.  The 53rd player would simply add one more player to the gameday Inactives, so why not get one week of Cap relief?

The 53rd player, Dillard, is on IR.

These projections are based on the 2023 projected cap of 225 million, and the 2024 projected cap of 256 million.

This is not directed at you, but it drives me crazy that so many people think when we have this discussion we are using this years cap number to project the future issues.

Oh gotcha. My response was just piggy backing off of your post, not really replying to the context of what you said. I was just curious if the numbers were indeed going up the next few years

Singleton with some juice on those throws

@LeanMeanGM

Forgot my season total.

Let's go 11-6 and top 5 defense at year's end.

And hope for 13-3, home field and the bye.

@justrelax explain this drill if you would, please.

I’ve met a few. It’s kind of sad because neither was proud or passionate about it.

Yeah, literally the same thing about the guy I knew that was a Lions fans.  He was from Michigan and he and his brother would go to a game sometimes.  Pretty much was just like obligation for him.

One of my good friends from college was from a suburb of Detroit. Huge Lions and Wolverines fan. He had become numb to the annual failure of the Lions but was passionate still about his college team.

I was with him at a sports bar the day App State beat Michigan.

Thought he was going to destroy that place. Never saw a person spiral so badly after a loss.

I blame the Lions for that meltdown 🤣

Not sure if posted, but the NFL Network's ranking of qbs heading into week one.

NFL QB Index, Week 1: Ranking all 32 starters entering 2022 season

Spoiler, Hurts is at #15.

Might be a few spots high, as a QB

As a Rb? Hmmm might be about right.

True, but his salary/cap numbers apply regardless.  The open roster slot he vacated when he went on IR has salary/cap numbers over and above his.

Not adding a roster player does save some money though,

Good thing for his running ability, or he'd be where he should be which is in the 20's.  The author acknowledges his fantasy value being effected by his running ability, which is not something we all should be hanging our hats on.  He certainly can "grow" as a passer.  But is it good enough?  I think we all know the answer to that.  I'm not sure where the talking point keeps coming from that he grew last year, as a passer.  That seems to be something thrown about in the philly media and echoed nationally out of sheer laziness.

2021 stats: 15 games | 61.3 pct | 3,144 pass yds | 7.3 ypa | 16 pass TD | 9 INT | 784 rush yds | 10 rush TD | 9 fumbles

In his first season as head coach, Nick Sirianni employed creative flexibility to flip his offense into a run-heavy juggernaut following a 2-5 start. The shift made the most of Hurts on the ground, morphing the second-year starter into football's leading rusher (784 yards) from under center. What Hurts can do with his legs has Fantasy Heads salivating over his floor, but he also grew as a passer. More development is needed, but Hurts finds himself in a plus environment. The Eagles boast the NFL’s top offensive line and a mouth-watering gang of pass-catchers after acquiring Tannehill’s old pal, A.J. Brown, to pair alongside DeVonta Smith. Nobody saw this coming six months ago, but the concern for Hurts is helping Philly live up to the bubbling hype as a suddenly popular Super Bowl pick

They'll point to his completion percentage, and QB rating/QBR going up, but they were pretty low bars to clear.

There was no way Zach Wilson was gonna play Week 1 after a torn meniscus, but the update Robert Saleh gave to the New York media sounded like a lot of mumbo-jumbo:

"To be honest with you guys ... the earliest he's gonna be available is Pittsburgh," Saleh said, referencing the Jets' Week 4 game against the Steelers. "That's gonna be the earliest. Now can it change? Sure, I'm always gonna leave that door open. You guys know me, I'm the eternal optimist. But we are gonna make sure that both mind and body are 110 percent and make sure we do right by him, and we feel like, talking to the doctors, it's gonna be that Pittsburgh week."

Do the Lions have actual fans?  I think I've met maybe one my entire life.

I have two best friends since childhood, one is a Raiders fan the other a Lions fan. I have met one other my entire life.

True and True

Kelce sounds a bit ticked off. Have to wonder why he's dropping F-bombs and sounding angry about "being comfortable".

Could have been a bad practice. I'm also leery of everyone gassing up the Eagles. We're rarely good front-runners.

He reads the blog and saw @315Eagles prediction for Hurts' numerous TDs on the same drive.

I can't believe the Eagles allowed the video, of that super complex drill that Kelce was doing, to get out.  Competitive advantage and all.

Now theyre gonna know he is more balanced on his left pinky toe than his right one! wtf
