Everything I have read about the RPO is that the OL is run blocking.  The key reads are the presnap alignment and post snap, usually focusing on the SS or MIKE as the conflict or apex defender. On the RO, everything I ever read suggests the key read is the DE and the blocking is for running.  Not sure I am following what you are saying.  Diagram (Xs & Os), picture or film that can show me what you mean?  Thanks @justrelax @HazletonEagle

I'll do my best. Here are a couple of RPOs against the Browns that involve both run blocking and pass blocking. The plays were run back-to-back. The read is on the LB on the defensive left side.

The LG and C double-team the DT. Inside zone look. The RG and RT pass block. Because the LB doesn't move...

...Minshew gives it to Scott. It's the R in the RPO.

Same action. LG and C double-team the DT... The RT pass blocks. The RG pulls to the left.

The left-side LB commits to the play side...

And Minshew pulls the ball and hits the slot receiver on a slant into the area vacated by the LB.

You can see the LB got completely turned around.

You are basically correct about the RPO being run-blocking action. However, that works well in college because the OL are allowed downfield three yards. In the NFL they're allowed one yard. The ball has to come out faster or there's an illegal OL downfield.

I can't speak to other teams' approach, but Stoutland shows a lot of OL action. We talked about this a week or two ago, regarding the RG pulling and essentially drawing the LB with him. That's the case on the second of these two plays. This combination of run- and pass-blocking action really taxes the defense because it breaks their keys.

Hope this makes some sense.

Are you parking in his yard?  The answer is NO.  Tell him to go F himself.  The road isn't anyone's personal property.  Maybe he should have done a little research before he decided to build there.

Different towns, cities and HOA's have different laws.  But for the most part a road is public property.  Does he tell the bus not to stop there when they pick the kids up?

Hasn't yet.  But he just has a foundation of a house.  Far from complete.  But he literally sits there a day, every day in his car watching the workers.

He's going to be a pr.

He played really well last year after getting thrown in w/o a lot of reps against NFL talent, and hopefully he can stay injury free for another season so Howie can quit drafting guards\centers in the 2nd round.

I bet this Matt Daniels guy is a big fan of Carl Nassib as well.

Interesting...

Happier with AJ Brown but obviously that involved a first round pick

Scary.

Jurgens showed he was a lot stronger than advertised, he was a legitimate 300 lbs coming out of college and they'll probably get him around 310 or so, with his athleticism, he should be able to handle OG.

The interesting thing about the line is that Dickerson is your typical RG type, less mobile but stronger, and Seumalo your LG prototype, same with Mailata and Lane (even up to 330, Lane is one of the most athletic OL in the NFL).

Do the Eagles pull left more than most teams? Will they screen right more? (Seumalo and Lane have the speed to get downfield on screens).

Many of Hurts’s runs are pass plays that break down, not necessarily opportunities for the RB.

We do call QB read options, but it’s no 6-8 times a game

Those scrambles put pressure on the DC, if you go man with deep safeties, if a shallow route pulls defenders out of one side, Hurts can be looking at a lot of empty real estate.

If you keep a LB in to "spy," you're either taking a man out of coverage or a man out of the pass rush.

So you want Hurts to scramble when the opportunity is there to make big yards on the ground, b/c it forces DCs to account for him.

Same reason you want to throw a pass or two to Stoll out of two TE formations (probably why they gave him a lot of work in pre-season) because it forces someone to account for him - how often has a no name TE gained big yards against the Eagles b/c the defense "forgot" about him?

I agree, but it should be less often. It should be enough they have to account for his running, which should open up the passing game.
