Did I say it was hurting?  Nope.  But there’s no denying it was elevated during that time.   You have a deep hatred for fantasy football and people talking about it.  What happened?  You’re amongst friends.  This is a sharing place.  We won’t judge.

Fantasy football brings in a lot of money and spotlight to the sport...but those people are the bane of my Monday water cooler existence.

I dont mind that he only threw 1 TD Monday night since he actually was throwing the ball well.

I mind that he hasnt thrown TDs because he hasnt been able to throw the ball at an adequate level to be an NFL QB.

However, if he can continue to throw it like Monday night, more TDs should come.

Lets say they dont. Lets say he continues scoring 2 more rushing TDs than passing TDs (which sounds crazy and unlikely to happen). AND keeps winning games. So say playing that way, and winning that way is sustainable. Now the question becomes- is this sustainable for roster building reasons?

Is that going toe keep WRs happy. Will they be happy getting yards, and a few TDs, and playing on a winning team? Will that be enough to get WRs and TEs to want to come here to play with him?

If not, then you cant committ. Wins or not, you cant covet that style of play more than being able to build a talented roster on offense. If WRs dont want to play with him because he is a TD hog with his keepers then it'll be an issue. At some point we will begin to see negative effects in Wins column. As WRs leave and it is hard to get good ones to come, its going to leave the team worse off.

So- this is a wait and see thing. Can he keep up that level of play? Can he throw that well and actually throw more TDs? And if not, are his WRs going to get pissed seeing him keep it near the goal line all the time?

Yes, it is wait and see, but you want style points. I just want points and wins. If the WRs complain about not scoring enough that's an issue with them and not with him IF IF IF the team keeps winning. IF it doesn't, maybe I'll listen. As far as WR complaints now all I hear are crickets.

The Lions played zone against us and he killed them with his runs. The Vikings tried a soft zone and he beat it. I have argued that a QB who is a (serious) threat to run puts heavy pressure on a defense.

Joe Burrow is a pure passer, a prototype NFL QB by the definition many in here view as the sine qua non. (I throw that in so that the resident scorpion can wax wroth.) He'll be lucky to last until Thanksgiving.

Is Hurts without flaws?

Just remember this. Only 2.5% of all the men in the united states are under 40, make 100K, and are over 6 feet tall. When you take out the married dudes that number becomes closer to .8%

And yes, I've turned down hotter, or better asses, or  skankier chics

OK Leo DiCaprio

Well took longer than expected but here we are 2-3 days after the game and the crowd that is against Hurts has found their new most important stat to cling to and that's the lack of touchdown passes despite it not representing a lack of a very productive winning offense.

Im less concerned with style points, and more concerned with team morale, and ability to recruit WRs to play with him.

This very well may be sustainable short term (a year or 2) while we have these WRs under contract and hopefully Hurts continues to win games. But if he gets the selfish label, which he is working hard on earning, then we might not be able to retain, or replace WRs of this caliber.

And that may prove this to be not sustainable long term. It may prove to be problematic at that point and the team worsens because of it. Then we start winning less games. Still with a selfish QB. Suddenly things dont sound so good.

Thats why we have to wait and see. Not just on his performance. But on players reaction to it. Not about style points. Its about ego management and roster building.

So you are telling us youve had hotter on the reg, out of desperation? Hello @balldawgbites.

Is it Burrow's fault that his o-line is the worst in the league? I think anybody would swap Burrow for Hurts without question, and behind the Eagles o-line and with our skill players, Burrow would be in the conversation with Allen/Mahomes for top 3 QB in the league, instead of that 5-7 range he's in now.

My point, such as it is, is that there's more than one way to win. It's a tribute to Burrow that he has won as much as he has with such an execrable OL. HOWEVER, of the two offenses, ours and his, ours is clearly more sustainable.

Except smitty was complaining just a week ago.

has his passing improved? Maybe. Significantly? Sorry no.

winning does tend to cure most ills but we have weak opponents to start. If anything the coaches had schemes ready for the vikings

This selfish riff makes little sense to me. I don't see it. I think you are projecting.

I could be wrong now. But I don't think so.

Was he? I missed that. Show me, please.

Did he complain after the Vikings game?

We are up to 8 players in the draftkings contest that begins tonight. The more, the better. Get in before tonights kickoff!

Makes A ton of sense. Rb1 loves to call his own number so it can be "look at me im superman”.

not hard to understand why he might have a chip in his shoulder and an inferiority complex

If you dont account for called runs, pay attention to how much he chooses to run on 3rd down, and in the red zone. He has a major hero complex.

And his superman celebration? Spare me. We dont need a superman. We just need our QB to distribute the ball to his elite weapons, not act like they arent there and pretend the team needs a hero.

Not how it works.

Younger chics, walk by, give them a dirty look, and walk away.... treat them like dirt, stick to you like mud.

Middle age - talk about them. Any dumb question you can think of where they can talk about themselves, do it. what do you do for work, tell me more, etc . fish in a barrel

Older broads - Confirm they want fun, take them to happy hour some where swanky

Because good teams, like teams you'll see in the playoffs wont let the QB run wild. Which is why Lamar has looked pedestrian in the playoffs and why we got boat raced last year.

you need a throwing qb to win in a throwing league.

Time will tell.

That is on interesting take.  Which players have given any indication that they label him selfish?
