Prediction: Doug calls a successful trick play at one point. Sirianni responds with a trick play of his own that fails.

Saints OL without Peat is also not the same. They won't be able to block Tomlinson/Philipps in the run game.

Paul Kariya dead after multiply concussions in the post season 25 minutes before he scored a goal in the same game. Like I said, we wouldnt have sports if 1 or 2 concussions, or a bad concussion and people retired

Paul Kariya is still alive, he is not dead.

yes, it's a figure of speech, I mention he scored a goal 25 minutes after that picture was taken.

I dont even want to know your take on an Asian athlete. I'll delete the previous psot

Asian athlete? What are you talking about?

Did you not read my post? Independent doctors don't do the concussion protocol.  They just flag a player to be looked at but it's still the team doctors that do the protocol.

Also what are you even talking about Asian athlete? You been hitting the bottle a little early this morning?

Time for Tua to hang up the cleats. He def was concussed last week as well.

It's possible he is done.  I would imagine the increased risk of another concussion is going to always be there for him.  I hope he is able to make a full recovery. Last Sunday reminded me of Sami Kapanen getting concussed while on the ice for the Flyers in the playoffs in 2004.

Can you really trust that though? The NFL isn't known for their honesty. Hurts was 100% knocked out for a brief moment in that Detroit game, and there was nothing that happened after. I was very surprised at minimum he didn't get pulled by the concussion spotter for a play or two.

The league pretends it cares, but at the end of the day it want's its best product out on the field.

I don't think Hurts lost consciousness and was then suddenly able to hop and play without any further problems.  Part of the problem is that the decision is made by the team and the player.  Even if you have an independent doctor, they are both going to be influenced by the team and the player about clearing a return to play.  Players don't get to the NFL without getting hurt and sustaining painful hits in most games.  They are also used to being able to shake those hits off except when their bodies just won't function.  The problem is when a concussion doesn't physically seem to impair a player.   The NFL could require more thorough assessments.  I think there are assesssments that take more than 5 minutes and could be used which would give the doctors better information and allow for a break.   I think the doctor could also make the decision away from the player and coaches so the players and coaches do not influence the doctor.

Again, you from your couch saw a concusion.

But... the indepdent doctors who get paid and are trained,  who flag players and sit in the press box did not

The Dolphins doctors who are paid and trained from the side lines did not

The NFL investigation that ended thursday morning did not.

But, you, on your couch, saw it. GOT IT

So the NFL concluded an investigation that an NFL team did no wrongdoing and the doctors who are employed by an NFL team did no wrong. See the issue?

Totally.

But you see the issue of some dude from his couch thinking it's a concussion too.

When it's as blatant as it was last Sunday, not really. He clearly "shook the cobwebs" shaking his head side to side to get his bearings, stumbled to keep his footing, and didn't grab his back once. I mean what are we even talking about here. This is as obvious as it gets. You don't need a phD to know that this is a head injury.

is Scott a healthy scratch and Trey is being called up, or is Trey looking that good/Scott that bad.

Honest question

Scott is hurt. Ribs.

So again, you and youtube got it, but all the paid professionals dont.

We'll never ever truly know if he had a concussion. But I find it funny that couch potatos are doctors.

Then I guess this would be the first time the "paid professionals" covered up a head injury so a key player can stay in the game.

Was just going to say the same thing.

The NFL has never covered anything up, right?

Beyond idiotic to think otherwise.

No, the Dolphins messed up bigtime. Adam Schefter was talking about that this morning: "In the concussion protocols there is a phrase called gross motor instability... if any player is ever demonstrating gross motor instability he is not allowed to play."  That's clearly gross motor instability.  He should not have been allowed to play.  The funny thing is that Dolphins knew it, that's why they reported him initially as having a head injury, which they later revised to a back injury.

So now the question is whether the NFL will do anything about this or will they sweep it under the rug.  I also think he will be out for a couple of weeks then will be back and this whole thing will be dealt with quietly and there will be no further reports on this.

They can't buy a break

But they independent doctors did flag him to go through concussion protocol.

The Dolphins doctors did look at him.  They are trained and paid yes, but they are paid by the Dolphins.  There's a conflict of interest in that.  NFL did an investigation but there is also a conflict of interest in that as well.

Again, I didnt say that.

Shaking off cobwebs doesnt automatically mean concussion. Knees bucking doesnt mean concussion as it just happened to me in hockey cause of my lower back.

You dont want to trust 3 layers of paid professionals in 3 different aspects, thats fine. But im sure as F arent going to trust some dude sitting on his couch.

I'm dumb enough to know that I dont know what happened.

The independent neurologist does not have the final say in this situation. They have the ability to spot out someone who might have suffered head trauma and call for someone to get checked and act as a second opinion, but the team doctor has the final say to clear or pull a player. And as long as the team doctor is employed by the team, that conflict of interest will always exist.
