Gross.  I might just listen on the radio!   I can't stand all these new variations on uniforms.   Just stick with your uniform and your colors and stop trying to squeeze every single last merchandising dollar from the fans constantly.  Have an identity and stick to it.

It's 2022.  Identity is fluid and can change daily.  Get with the times man.

Agree 100% though.  Teams lose their identity when they have too many options or change things up too much.  You'd never think this was an Eagles vs Jets game.

Wentz 'washer' is an immature term because of how it was derived.  It was derived as those who wash his testicles.  That's a middle school level insult, hence the immature connotation.

You seem emotionally invested when you use triple punctuation, which indicates a level of frustration and emotiveness in your response.  And it is absolutely in response to what is being discussed, because the discussion moved to how to have a disagreement with someone civilly and without lowering the bar to ad hominems and immature name calling.   (You aren't alone in this, but I've generally given up on most of the others that fall prey to that style of 'debate'.)

You weren't addressing Mike with the Wentz washer term?  I'm pretty sure you were, as it was his post that you quoted.   And I'm not stating that I know the intention of his post.  I know what his post SAID.  And his post did not defend Wentz.  Read it for yourself again if you disagree.  But, I thought I would try to help you raise the level of discourse so that it wouldn't devolve further.   I see that attempt failed, and you've moved the target on to me now.   It's a shame.  I'll know better for the future.

Also I didn't know that's where Wentz washer derived from if it did , I just took it as they are attemting to wash his faults or scabs or dirt off of him, like most normal hi.am being not on any eagles message boatd would assume it means ...

Why would I automatically think it means washing his balls??? I mean I guess I'm being a bit naive and why in this board wouldn't it mean exactly that???🤷‍♂️

Like I said it wasn't meant as an attack, I'm sorry mike took it that way, I just was using that term as a term I thought just meant some one degending  wentz

Having said that @Mike030270 is a big boy he can take care of himself and he did and I had zero problems with him doing so, just aittle confused why he thought it was immature, if he took  the term the way you did than I understand him calling me immature.

see the thing is seems youhave not noticed that communicating on a message board a lot can be missed lost and unintentionally communicated, it's not a perfect science, for Instance one person may read a post and think it's defending Wentz and another person may read the same post and think it's not defending wentz, and while the Intention by the OP may have been by one or the other those intentions were received differently.

THanks for coming to my Ted talk I'll take questions at the free bar...

I was going to bring that up but wanted others to appreciate the tenacity we miss on this team on their own.  Good eye.

And Lane Johnson directing traffic. Jim Marshall could have used that back in his day.

I mean, we were discussing the run game, Hurts and Minshew at QB and who makes it go.  It is quite obvious the enforcer made it go last year.

Do kids these days still watch or have the opportunity to watch the golden days of NFL Films stuff?  I used to have all of them on VHS, favorite one being NFL Rocks.  All of those Steve Sabol hosted and some even Harry Kalas hosted shows were so great.  They really taught the history of the game and where the NFL came from.  It seems so much of NFL Network is based purely around there here and now.  The only real history you might see is A Football Life that might talk about Walter Payton.

Wonder how many football fans under the age of 35 would know what you're referencing.

That's a really interesting perspective.  With this scenario are you letting the QB contract run out or trading for capital before FA?  Either way, the team is going to have to hit more than miss on the yearly QB sweepstakes.  I know we a lot rag on the Hurts intangibles but I do think it counts for something.  Say you let Hurts walk and draft KJ Jefferson with hopes that he can pick up where Hurts left off.  I don't know anything about Jefferson as a leader but I think you'd see team morale take a huge dip because this team is 100% behind Hurts.  It's a huge risk to take.

At the same time, you have to wonder.  If the Eagles give Hurts a top QB contract, which position is going to be effected most?  Can they give Hurts a top contract, re-sign DeVonta Smith, keep some of their new talent on defense and so on?

Having Kelce, Cox, BG and even Slay come off the books the next 2 years will free up money.  Re-working AJ Brown's contract after next year should free up money.

But sooner than later you're going to have to pay Dickerson.  Mailata is already in year 2 of his 4 year extension and he should have his contract re-worked after next year.  Epps, Edwards, Bradberry, CGJ, White..at least 3 of those guys need to be brought back.   Not even counting FA from othe teams.

I don't envy Howie for trying to figure out how to manage the cap and this roster moving forward.  Having a QB on a rookie contract does give a team so many advantages.  Your proposed idea would be great...if you continually bring in the right QB and the team buys in to the revolving door at the most important position in sports.

I think it would be a case by case basis, but ideally you would see out the full rookie contract to get the best value out of them, then franchise tag and trade them for a ton of draft picks.

Yeah, you’re definitely going to have to hit at the QB position, which is why I think you’d carry 4 QBs instead of 2 or 3 and you’d be drafting one basically every year. But the good news is that getting competent QB play is going to be easier. You can draft a guy like Hurts who needs development and still have a workable offense year 2 because of his legs. You can sign a mid tier free agent vet like Vick out of prison or Cam Newton and basically just ride their legs.

It's not pretentious to accurately use words to describe someone.  He's not talking down to you demeaning you based on the use of the words.  He's accurately describing your behavior.  Make the points you want to make about football. Comment on points others make and disagree about the content of their posts. Don't attack the poster.

Again I wasnt using Wentz washer as an attack, I had no idea that some used that term to imply they washed Wentzs balls which is just a hilarious image for some odd reason, I picture that poster that had Wentz as a saint holding a cross in his Sig and it's just a cringe visual...😳

I just thought it was a term used to describe some one who defense Wentz, like if I were to attack someone instead of their argument the term for that would be ad hominem attack...

My bad for using a term on here that apparently has a lot of un dealt with pain behind it.

Seriously though you guys know me and I don't go out of my way to attack other posters unless provoked and @Mike030270 did not provoke me.

simple misunderstanding on my part that @Iggles_Phan decided to insert himself right in the middle of.

HEs not accurately describing my behavior he's making assumptions and we know what happens when people make assumptions.

having said that talking " Down" to someone never has nor ever will raise general discourse.

Like I said if that was the goal then yes Wentz was the solution.

He successfully led the team to a winning record and missed the playoffs while losing the last 2, only 1 of which he needed to win to get into the playoffs.

Looks like Dicker will wear 13. It was the only option, other than 9 and 12, which they never give out.

I wasn't alive for it but saw it all the time on the all-time Sports Bloopers clip show they would air randomly or when the Phillies were in a rain delay or something. Now you don't even get the blooper reel anymore.

I remember that game.

Winning record doesnt really make his point seeing as Wentz went into a dearh spiral the last month keeping his team from playoffs.

Wentz started his death spiral early this year...

You know it's funny I actually like Wentz, I think it's unfortunate the way things ended with him and dougie P and the eagles, I wished him nothing but the best in Indy, selfishly for better return picks but also because I was a big fan of Wentz in his hey day, and he's a good person who does  a lot of good things in his community, and he's just not a very good QB anymore...☹️

Yup.  Sad but true.  And frankly, the golden age of the NFL seems to be in the rear view mirror now as well.

NFL Network has access to ALL of the old NFL Films stuff (because the NFL bought out NFL Films)...  and could really do themselves a great service by running them in the offseason.  But, as we see with all these alternate jerseys, they'd rather create something new than bring back something old.

Well this is awkward to come back to lol

Lets squash it and not @ me to a bunch of posts lol

Context my trolling schemer, context.

Hurts won his last 4 starts, last game of the season eagles sat all their starters.

Meanwhile colts and wentz lost their last 2 games only one of which they needed to win to get in the show and Wentz as we know choked ,the crazy owner lost his 💩 and decided he'd rather have a QB in a wheel chair and an oxygen cart be his starter🤷‍♂️

I didn't know Jordan Hicks played baseball too.   🤯

The NFL had to add an extra playoff spot for the Eagles to get in.

Good point.  I was thinking much more narrowly that you were/are.  I really appreciate the perspective.

It also begs a question ... who is the "leader" of the Eagles Offense.  Arguably it is Jason Kelce.

Right. Hurts obviously has leadership qualities, but Kelce is the man on offense.

And the thing is, if you’re saving all that money on a QB, you can actually build a strong veteran leadership outside of the QB. Will a QB’s leadership matter as much if you always have a couple veteran guys like Kelce in the huddle?

I don’t know the answer, but some intrepid GM is eventually going to find out.

Kelce and Johnson would both be higher on the offensive leader hierarchy.
