doesn’t include extensions. But besides schwarber, JT and strahm these contracts are largely bad. Turner is Ok but Castellanos and Nola have been bad.

J.T. Realmuto 5 Years, $115.5 Million Good

Nick Castellanos 5 Years, $100 Million Bad

Kyle Schwarber 4 Years, $79 Million Great

Taijuan Walker 4 Years, $72 Million Bad

Didi Gregorius 2 Years, $28 Million Bad

Matt Strahm 2 Years, $15 Million Great

Craig Kimbrel 1 Year, $10 Million Good

Corey Knebel 1 Year, $10 Million Bad

Max Kepler 1 Year, $10 Million Bad

Jordan Romano 1 Year, $8.5 Million Bad

Whit Merrifield 1 Year, $8 Million Bad

Brad Hand 1 Year, $6 Million Bad

Archie Bradley 1 Year, $6 Million Bad

David Robertson 1 Year, $6 Million OK

Chase Anderson 1 Year, $4 Million Bad

Joe Ross 1 Year, $4 Million Bad

Brad Miller 1 Year, $3.5 Million Bad

Matt Moore 1 Year, $3 Million Bad

Spencer Turnbull 1 Year, $2 Million Great

Josh Harrison 1 Year, $2 Million Bad

It may have been.

I’ve seen Jim Bowden, Stark, and some other reporters keep mentioning Bo Bichette. It feels like somebody in the Phillies front office/organization is kind of putting that out there. He kind of makes sense as he’s a right handed bat. And it allows you to trade Alex Bohm and get potentially maybe another outfielder or relief pitcher. It also then allows you to bring Miller along slower this year. then they can also look to trade stott next off-season if they don’t plan on extending him.

But Harper saw pitches in the zone only 43 percent of time, the fewest out of 532 players (minimum 200 pitches).

Harper saw only 39.1 percent of pitches in the zone in the postseason, 83rd out of 84 players (minimum 50 pitches). Boston’s Ceddanne Rafaela saw the fewest (36.5 percent).

Harper spent most of the season hitting third in the lineup. Phillies cleanup hitters posted a combined .720 OPS, which ranked 20th in baseball.

It was their lowest ranking out of any spot in the lineup.

The Phillies would benefit from having a true slugger hit fourth, even if it doesn’t mean a substantial increase in pitches in the zone for Harper. His chase rate (35.6 percent) was just a tick below his career-worst rate in 2022 (35.7 percent). It was 33.4 percent in each of the previous two seasons.

Perhaps he makes an improvement there with a big bat hitting him.

Perhaps the Phillies re-sign Kyle Schwarber in the offseason and hit him behind Harper, like he did earlier in the season. If Schwarber signs elsewhere, the Phillies could turn to a free-agent slugger like Pete Alonso, who is a Boras client.

It’s highly unlikely, however, the Phillies sign both, based on their payroll situation

No crap they’ve needed a cleanup hitter for 3 years.

Harper should play better than he wouldn’t be called out. Anyway Phillies are now out of my mind. World Series time

I will be ready for the next Phillies window in 2045 when the phillies sign Trea Turner JR to a 15 year 1 billion contract

Snell doesn’t have his best control tonight. Blue jays better do damage now cause in an inning he could find it.

Here we go jays!

Hope they didn't blow their chances now

At least they got snell’s count up to 29. Meaning if they can get him out by 6th it’s huge for them as dodgers bullpen isn’t great.

That's what I just said to my friend, he has the dodgers sweeping the jays. I said at least they got snell to throw 30.

I don’t see them sweeping the jays. I think it’ll go 5 or 6

I said jays in 6.

The thing that worries me with the jays is their starting pitching isn’t that good and their bullpen is just ok. They’ve gotten by with it all year but then again i really think the AL besides the Mariners didn’t have great pitching so they could get by.

Ugh that was some Phillies level running there

I said during in the Phillies series, you cannot give them extra outs or giving them Outs by bad base running/bad at bats. They are too good of a team and with how they’re playing right they’ll capitalize on it

Gausman should have started. Had plenty of rest
