Tbh it’s not good that we’ve started off weak on this road trip. Reds have one of the worst record since beginning of June 

i’ve said this a bunch of times, there was no reason to bring back Alvarado at the price they brought him back. He hasn’t been good since they went to London. He was hurt at the end of the year. Nobody in the right mind and free agency was giving him $9.5 million. You brought him back assuming he just bounced back to what he was two years ago. This is Dave’s biggest problem. Just assuming guys are going to bounce back to what they were two or three seasons ago. It’s not gonna happen.

Alvarado and Banks can't pitch. Both have an ERA over 7. They're soo bad. DD needs to be waterboarded.

I get Sanchez got lit up on his last road start but his era is 5.32 and 1.52 WHIP. Even prior to his last start he had a 4.29 ERA. Meanwhile at home 0.86 and a .93 WHIP

I was thinking a 7-2 or 6-3 road trip would be a realistic outcome. Now I'm wondering if they can go 5-4.

I was following the box score, when I had the opportunity to turn it on it was still 0-0 in the 5th inning so I said the hell that that lol. Looks like Luzardo pitched a nice game though.

Remember a few years back he was like this? Awesome at home and crap on the road... I hope this isn't happening again and if it is why now?

Honestly it’s because of his last 3 road starts. Given up 4, 5, 9

This team is kneecapped with DD roster decisions.

Basically with the pitching staff as constructed you have to win all the Sanchez, Wheeler and Luzardo starts. Problem is when Alvarado or Banks go out there I cringe and cover my face with a blanket because I dont want to see the implosion or Kerkering you never know when a mental relapse will occur and give up 3 straight walks and cant hit the strike zone. With Rangel (bless the poor guy) and Nola you're just praying the other teams offense sucks that night. Combine all that with the Phils offense being so hot or cold and DD better get off his arse and do something and not just Austin Hays/Rodolfo Castro type guys.

They should be able to scrape wins now and again with the Nola/Whoever starts. Maybe play .333 ball or something in those starts. Some of them are against crappy teams with crappy batting and/or a sheet pitcher. Have to win some of those.

I think their best bet is getting a SP at the deadline that can be a solid no. 4. I actually think that’s doable at the deadline and not super expensive like a RH bat or LHP reliever. Once you get that SP then just have Rangel attempt to go 3 and piggy back him with Nola for 3 innings. Unless somehow painter becomes consistent in the minors and turns it around

That works for me. I was always thining Nola as the sheety 5th guy but one better than the one we've had for a few years but having him only go 3 makes good sense.
