Now they have to not catch the Padres.

Let’s gooooooo. After watching ten years of absolute dog poop, we finally get to see a playoff series.

So the Phillies don’t get a home game for the wild card series? Interesting…

That's the new "penalty" I guess for being the 3rd wildcard team. They won't see a home game until game 3 of the NLDS. Anyways, as much as I bi#ch and moan about this team, it's certainly nice to see them back in the playoffs. Nothing better than Red October, especially at CBP in the Fall.

I legit thought this guy snuck into the locker room at first:

it's amazing how everyone just goes from hating this team to loving this team in a few days because the brewers keep blowing it and yet the lousy effort they showed against cubs and still losing  a few games nationals that's swept under the rug and will win the world series because they make the playoffs.

championship teams dont play like this, the 07 phillies didnt need help from teams to get them in the playoffs, they beat the teams are supposed to be beating and that's why they won it all in 08. it's not the same vibe. if they actually destroyed the cubs and nantionals like it was nothing and make the divisional playoffs, it would be different story.

the third wild card is joke and the flaws on this roster are going to show in the playoffs why didnt deserve to go in the playoffs and partying and drinking like they won the world series is probably going to make it to easier for the cards to blow them out and we are back to the same old bs. same roster, same problems, same manager hiccups next year,.

there's no accountability with this team and that's why im upset, they should be accountability with this team regardless of the outcome because this team make not the playoffs next year because they kept the same flawed roster and managers.

if you are ok with mediocre baseball and not making the playoffs for the next 10 years because of this, then be my guest.

In baseball you just have to make the playoffs and then get hot at the right time.  While I agree the Phillies have a flawed roster and some underwhelming players that doesn’t really matter once you make the playoffs.  Being the best team in the regular season actually means very little.

Yeah… the ‘07 Phillies got in on the last day because the Mets choked. They won 89 games. This team is at 87.

if this was a young team, i would have something to look forward to, problem is you have money on aging players, wheeler could lose a step from his injuries, nola is nola, he's not cole hamels, he could really suck next year. every player we have on this roster that's good is aging and inconsistent besides schwarber, if we cant move on from some of these players, this might be the only time we make the playoffs, there's no young talent on this roster to build from. 07 phillies didnt have aging talent that's why we went on a long run.

Just saying the Phillies have painter, Abel and McGarry coming up. If painter and Abel are what we think they have a pretty nasty rotation. Their issue at that point is they need to draft and develop better positional players. Particularly at catcher and outfield. If Sosa hits like he did with us and last year with the cardinals he’s likely your 3b and you move bohm to first. Sosa kind of reminds me of Pedro Feliz and he’s young. The issue is Harper’s elbow so castellanos and schwarber have to play the outfield until that’s fully heal. They also need a catcher for when realmuto declines which he’s 32 next year. I’d have been much more happy with the marsh trade of the Phillies spent their first on a catcher like Daniel Susac who was a hitting machine  and good defensive catcher at Arizona. He’s  ready in 1.5-2 years which is the timeline for when realmuto is likely declined

I’m guessing this offseason is find another starting pitcher, add 2 bullpen pieces and sign someone like bogerts or Turner.

About as pathetic as being the first major sports franchise to register 10,000 losses. We do everything to the max in Philly, even losing

Well the A’s won five titles in Philadelphia. So there were good baseball teams in Philadelphia, they just were not in the National League.  And no one is ever catching Connie Mack btw

I kind of agree with everything, but I'll take what I can get.

Also, how in the world does making the playoffs this year, mean they won't make it the next 10 years?  That makes no sense.

Frankly i think the Phillies use painter next year as one of the starters and goes out and gets another starter. I guess their big signing is going to be turner or bogerts then fix the bullpen around Alvarado, dominguez. If wheeler, nola and Suarez pitch like this year and painter is the real deal then their rotation is actually really good. Problem is Phillies prospects are Phillies prospects

I really hope this kid is an all timer type pitcher. Would be amazing if he turned out to be

I hate two of the Phillies players.  Not that it ruins it for me.  But i loathe them.

Who are they?

I can't stand Castellanos. Hoskins and Segura are the type I can tolerate as long as they are winning. Something about them rubs me the wrong way.

Im not ecstatic about them but they have some good young pitching that should come up the next few years.  Abel, painter, mcgarry
