August 22, 20206 yr Under normal circumstances, its not that big of a deal when your ace has a bad game. Being that this is the Phils bullpen, this could get mighty ugly.
August 22, 20206 yr good news pivetta is gone. 10 minutes ago, Green_Guinness said: Nola having a real clunker tonight. Gave up a pair of 430 ft HRs. Just doesn't have it this night. He was our only hope. Now Girardi will have to go to the pen. Are the Braves' players practicing their swings on T-ball stands so they can get their timing down for the Phightins' BP? I rather have the t-ball stand pitching.

August 22, 20206 yr Whats more likely to happen...Braves sweep the Phillies or the Celtics sweep the Sixers. I refuse to believe that any of them get swept this weekend, but its more than likey to happen.

August 22, 20206 yr Well at least pivetta is gone. Well see if these guys they added can do anything. Dont see how they could be any worse. I'm still optimistic that the team can be watchable through the rest of the season. It's a low bar but that's really all I'm asking for.

August 23, 20206 yr 60-game season ... here, during game number 23 Kingery is hitting .117 I wonder what kind of betting line I could get on him hitting under .150 for the entire 60-game season
August 23, 20206 yr So when does Girardi pull wheeler and when does the bullpen implode? I’m gonna say wheeler pulled in the bottom of the 7th and bullpen implodes 9th inning
August 23, 20206 yr Welcome workman to the Phillies bullpen. You’ve been indoctrinated as part of us as you gave up 2 runs on your first pitch.
August 23, 20206 yr 1 minute ago, Shocker54 said: Hoskins a great doubleplay candidate Good thing we didn’t bunt the runners over to prevent that and get harper up against a pitcher where lefties are hitting 340
August 23, 20206 yr 3 minutes ago, Shocker54 said: McCutchen probably doesn't even know how to bunt YES! HOSKINS BIGGEST CONTRIBUTION IN A YEAR AND A HALF! He pulled a roger dorn That was close. He looked like he was beat by the throw but got his hand in.
August 23, 20206 yr im just starting to think no matter what we do, some players just have the losing mentality
August 23, 20206 yr So 4-0 lead going into the bottom of the 7th and our pitchers can't get 9 outs before the Braves can score 5+ runs to beat us? We literally need a 7+ run cushion going into the late innings to win a game. Thanks, KLentak (yes, that's a capital L in his name) for putting this putrid team together, you Frankie Munoz looking doofus.
August 23, 20206 yr You know this team is getting swept tonight then likely lose the next series as well to the nats
August 23, 20206 yr The Phillies are so bad that ESPN has replaced the Phillies with tennis tonight And move the Phillies to ESPN2
August 24, 20206 yr The first read by Bohm on that grounder up the line screams future first baseman. He’s going to have to move faster than that. But at least he’s hitting .323. Once they bulk him up to put some more power behind that long frame, he has a chance to be a real hitter...unless he’s just Browning/Hoskinsing us. Of course, that body change will almost certainly relegate him to first base. I think Bohm probably will bump out Hoskins and we’ll be in the long term market for a 3rd baseman.
August 24, 20206 yr This Hembree guy isn't too bad. Seems to be a strike thrower instead of a guy who nibbles.
