Official Philadelphia Phillies Thread - Still can't hit for crap

I can see it now. He will miss the next game or two, come back and tweak it again. He will then be day to day for 6 weeks.

Knew it. The only thing I was wrong about was that he would try to come back after a game or two to give it a try. Nailed the 6 week part.

Phillies are done.  Offense not going to do crap with Turner out

This is going to be like the old days where a 9 inning game ends after 11

"The field is getting wetter and wetter” - Mike Schmidt

that’s what rain does Mike

Realmuto’s agent:

”Hey guys. Sure…JT will sign this monster contract and you’ll continue to reap the rewards of the best defensive catcher in baseball. However……he has to walk out to the worst walk up song of all time, and he can never change it throughout the length of the contract.’

I hate his song soooooo much I find myself throwing soft objects at my tv.

Looks like the Phillies pitching moves into the Top 5 in MLB ERA after today's games, with only 4 AL teams ahead of them.

No Trea no problem

Braves lose again.

Can Stott play SS at all?

He played it his rookie season in 2022 and was solid. I'm sure it's gonna be Stott, Sosa, Clemens,  and Merrifield all seeing time at short and 2nd.

Turnbull going to the pen is a jackass stupid Robby T move. Can't stand him.

I'm sure that is a DD move with minimal Thomson input. I agree though, stupid as hell. But, as we see with Castellanos, these guys on these big money contracts aren't going to be benched as long as they are healthy, regardless of performance. Sucks.

Rob Thomson does not make decisions, it is all front office

Either way they have a dependable 4th starter and their thinking that it's smart to move him to the pen is going to come back to bite them at some point.

Braves lose again today. Walker needs to pitch well today, could grab another game on the Braves

Why will it bite them?  How would you handle it?

Dump walker on some stupid team that will take his contract

You can never have too much pitching.  Why go thin and expose yourself to injury risk?

😆 Walker

Walker velocity is down. Leaves it too much over the plate with little movement.

They have a dependable 4th starter and are putting him in the pen. Moving him to the pen could cost them games for one. Also, if someone gets hurt as you mentioned pitchers are a delicate bunch. Will they be able to move him back and have him pick up where he left off?

Bottom line is don't screw up a good thing.

I really think this is a Dombrowski decision. Word was going around Turnbull was gonna be in the rotation and then all of a sudden nope he’s in the pen. There’s no reason other than the injury history but you also have to go with your gut and if Turnbull has the confidence and wants the ball you give him the ball. You go with the hot player every time. I don’t think Topper wanted to move him based on his performance alone

Marsh is awesome. That mic’d up with the players while playing is pretty cool

🫶 Bryce!
