Hays can be your starting LF next year and Crawford can be your LF starting in 26, Turner moves to second and either MIller or Caba is your new SS.

Have a harder time believing they’re gonna move on from Bryson Stott. Miller and caba are at least two years away. They’re not coming up in 2025. So you’re gonna have Bryson Scott as your second baseman next year. I think next year is super critical for him. Because if he’s not good again, that means about 3 out of his four years he struggled. with marsh there’s a good chance they move on because I think they can upgrade left field. Hays has played cf before. So you could platoon him with Rojas. Furthermore hays has a nice contract so he’s movable. Same with Marsh having three more cheap years. He becomes movable and maybe somebody still believes after four years they can fix him. To me, I think they’re gonna be going after Soto. I don’t think the get him. But Teoscar Hernandez is also available, which would be a solid upgrade.

I just don't know how you can bring back the same core of guys 2 years in a row if they once again under perform in the playoffs, especially if they get clipped in the 1st round.

But people go way too far with Sosa. The more he plays the more he gets exposed. He was great the initial part of when Turner got hurt. The longer it went he started to go back closer to what he is. You’re not playing 162 games with Edmundo Sosa as you’re starting shortstop or starting second baseman. He is not an every day player. This is like saying Brandon marsh is an every day player. Over time if you play him every day he gets exposed as to what he actually is. Sosa is a nice player that can start 2-3 games a week if need be or if an injury happens can keep you afloat for a month. If you play him 6-7 games in a row for 162 he will eventually be exposed

August 14, 20242 yr Hmmmm maybe Rhys hoskins shouldn’t have been allowed to walk away and play harper in LF

I'm saying he is better than Stott for right now. Even when exposed, I would classify Sosa as a bad offensive baseball player who at least looks semi- competent. Stott this whole season looks like a guy who has never faced live pitching in his life. So yeah, I'm picking the better of two stiffs.

If we are talking this year I’d just platoon them. If we are talking about next year and moving on from Stott then I’m going into FA and getting a better 2nd baseman than Sosa to get me to miller or caba’s time
August 14, 20242 yr I’d actually like seeing this lineup considering realmuto hits .300 with around a .330 OBP with no one on base realmuto harper bohm schwarber turner Stott Castellanos marsh Rojas Or turner harper bohm schwarber castellanos stott rojas marsh Realmuto

Stott in 86 at-bats against lefties has .636 ops. Against righties he has a .657 ops in 284 at-bats. Sosa has an .871 ops in 87 at-bats against lefties and a .721 ops in 109 at-bats against righties. Sosa has better numbers against righties than Stott does where it should be the opposite. Yes, I know Stott has more plate appearances than Sosa does but if I'm being honest, I'd rather have Sosa getting most of the at-bats and if you want to sprinkle Stott in twice a week, fine. I actually think Stott should be sent to Lehigh Valley for a couple of weeks but they won't do that.

Turner has the opposite problem (well right now he has both problems). The issue is they aren’t giving up on him after 2.5 years. Only way he’s going to get back to 2023 is playing him and getting him out of his funk. It ultimately could crush his confidence if you just bench him and that could be something they don’t want to do for his long term future. With Sosa you know there’s a lower ceiling and he’s not going to get any better than what he is. so it’s strictly just playing him to help be better now. I’d just platoon stott until he snaps out of it and if he doesn’t then just play Sosa in a platoon. Sosa is eventually going to regress closer to his mean playing everyday. i think marsh is more deserving of being sent down. His strikeout rate is absolutely ridiculous. now he can’t hit righties or lefties. Stott has been bad but he’s nowhere close to the strikeout rate marsh is and I’d argue marsh has been worse since July. His numbers don’t look worse cause he was actually insane for 3 games vs. dodgers. Otherwise his numbers are even worse than Stott
August 14, 20242 yr Well guys after tonight I’m gonna be up 50 bucks betting against the Phillies since Sunday.

You just don’t trade top prospects for guys you have to fix to get the value out of. If you are trading a catching prospect who’s a top 75 player you better be getting a proven commodity. Not a guy you have to fix. Frankly part of me thinks they didn’t want Robert Jr cause the price was high and the didn’t want to trade those type of prospects away and get burned like they are with marsh.
