Official Philadelphia Phillies Thread - Still can't hit for crap

You kind of figured when they scored 16 yesterday that they were unlikely going to score very many today.

Welp this game is a disaster. Nola and Walker making the Marlins look way better than they are.

Honestly Walker should not be in the pen either. He should not be anywhere near any MLB team because he flat out cannot pitch.

At least Stott is hot again. Was good for a week. Then back to back. Now good again. So that’s an improvement

He’s the Phillies sunk cost fallacy. Because they invested so much money in him they don’t want to admit it was a mistake and just move on. So they keep him. You’ve already thrown the money at him and lost it. You’re not getting it back and he continues to be horrid. So at this point you having them on this team is taking up a roster spot for somebody else who’s more worthy.

Ok i stopped betting against the Phillies at the start of this series. So clearly i need to bet against them tomorrow to get back on their winning ways

Will the Mets ever lose?  The seven games coming up against them might end up being more interesting than we've been thinking.

I hope they don't.....would love to see Atlanta watching the playoffs from home.  So even in those 7 games, if we win 3, the Mets only gain 1 game yet....Atlanta would have to match the 4 wins of the Mets to keep pace.

Losing yesterday means this one is actually fairly important.  We don't want to allow the Mets to get closer now with seven games coming up against them plus the series in Milw.  Not critical but a win keeps the comfort zone in tact.

Honestly i kind of hope the dbacks miss the playoffs. They give us fits and we don’t play well in AZ.

Good start <_<

Splitting the series with the garbage Marlins is not ok. They need these wins.

Yeah it’s pathetic after taking the 1st two. Plus the Mets are likely 6 back after today cause the reds aren’t good and they are hot

Cool so we got hot for 3 weeks and reverted back to playing like crap again the last two games. Johnson getting tattoo’d

Phillies hit into a DP. Gotta keep it alive. We have 0 hits today.

I’d point out if they just DFA Walker and kept allard, allard would be pitching today. And sadly he’s been better than Phillips, Johnson and Walker

Stubbs getting some work is probably good. Hasn’t pitched in a couple weeks lol

There's no excuse for not winning a series against the Marlins. Guess Dombrowski doesn't care what playoff seed they are when he insisted all year on running Walker out there. Probably cost them 4-5 wins for the year.

Nola was the issue here.  If he gives us a decent outing we win the series 3-1 and we aren't having this conversation.  At least the Mets lost so the magic number is down to 13.

No doubt, he sucked.

Yeah, this is where it bothers me. Nola shouldn’t have lost that game. Nola cannot be that bad against the worst team in the national league. That’s when this started to slide. Felt like they lost the momentum that they built up because of that start. That said their hitting the last two days hasn’t been very good. They look a lot better on Saturday because they were down by so much and then they put some runs on the board. But for the most part, they were awful today and they weren’t very good yesterday.

You guys knew as soon as they passed LA that they would lose two in a row, right?
