Official Philadelphia Phillies Thread - Still can't hit for crap

Jays were stupid for giving him up

And the mariners for letting him walk to FA. The Dodgers made a lot of moves this off-season. But I would argue their best besides Ohtani was him. Because of what they paid to get him and the production they’ve got out of him. Obviously Ohtani is the greatest signing because he’s a MVP type player. But Hernandez for what they paid and the production they’re getting is pretty ridiculous

Off topic question, the Phillies began the year with a minor league pitcher that they had claimed from the Red Sox.  If I remember correctly he had some sort of military involvement and was of asian-american descent.  What happened to him?

Noah song. That was last year. Basically because they took him in the rule 5 draft, he had to be on the 26 man roster by a certain point and for so long to keep him. Because the Phillies didn’t do that, he reverted back to the Red Sox.

Son of a b Sanchez

Need to have the convo about Sanchez home and away. At home he’s been dominant. 2.24 ERA and pretty consistent. On the road his era is 5.43 and you don’t know which Sanchez you are getting that day. Could get vs. dodgers or could get vs. dbacks. Which brings up what are you gonna do in the playoffs with Sanchez. Because I don’t think you wanna go into a game 3 if the series is tied or you’re behind on the road needing to win with Sanchez taking the mound. He is a far better player at home.

also his day game era is 6.54 in 6 starts.

Well he won't have to pitch during the day in the playoffs so that's one problem solved!

Not necessarily true. Nlcs always has one day game. Game 3 vs. dbacks last year was a day game. I believe nlds always has one too. I want to say either game 2 or 3 was a day game

Back on track…. 4 consecutive games with a double play

Well sheet

Well that’s not good. Harper taken out of the game after being hit by a pitch in the elbow.

Was it the same elbow he's been having trouble with?

No this is the other elbow i believe

Need to dodge another bullet then with Harper.  We have had quite a few guys dinged up with things keeping them out for a couple weeks this year.

Really should consider wearing flaps on both elbows and hand protectors going forward. Feel like he gets hit in the hands and elbow more than anyone

Sanchez much better after a rough 1st inning.

He really has settled down.  Just gave up another double though and has some work to do here in the 5th.

Would’ve liked to see Francis throw more than 6 pitches that inning so we could get him out of the game and into the blue jays bullpen. At 89 pitches he’s likely back out for the 7th.

I’m actually surprised they took Francis out after a 6 pitch 6th and at 89 pitches.

JFC come on. Literally feels like we have 2 DPs every game

So apparently we’ve hit into 27 double plays in our last 22 games

Sanchez with a quality road start today. Much needed

Yup bounced back after a rough first inning and dominated. Hopefully this gets him back on track on the road. His next schedule road start is in NY
