Magic number for the NL East is 11. Might be 10 if the blue jays hold on

That looked like a really fun and emotional game and with the entire team very involved.  Nice to see Turner get some, the bench came thru, and Harper seems to be hitting well (too bad he didn't get the HR).

The concerns are obvious with Schwarber now the latest guy dinged though doesn't seem bad AND with Ranger not being anywhere near the old Ranger.  I guess we are going with Sanchez as the 3rd starter in October.

Castellanos 0 for his last 9

He fell off after that first time he was hit by a pitch.  I suppose we go thru two to three weeks of nothing from him now.  He kept us afloat for two months so I can accept that and then he can get hot again in Red October.

Tbh i really don’t think he should be the cleanup hitter. Frankly don’t love Bohm as cleanup either. Kind of think the Phillies don’t have a a better option than either hope Castellanos stays consistent or Bohm comes back and starts hitting again like he did early season. I want to say i saw he’s hit something like .243 with RISP since June before he got hurt.

If the Phillies stay as the 1 seed in the NL, we are going to need Castellanos and Bohm to hit well. Both the dbacks and padres are good hitting teams. That’s a series where either of those teams can slug their way to wins in an 5 game series outside of facing wheeler. Particularly the dbacks who lead the league in runs and have had guys like Walker, Marte and Moreno out of the lineup at times this year.

Big win. Would be nice to get a sweep. By my count, Phils are 9-7 going for a sweep after winning the first two games of a series (or first 3 of a 4 game set.)

Wheeler should dominate these losers, and if he has any chance at the cy young he needs to

Any word on Schwarber yet?  Got him on both my fantasy baseball teams and I'm in the semi-finals in both

I’ve thought for a while the pitching is gonna be good enough for them to win a World Series. I like their bullpen. Especially if Alvarado it’s gonna be pitching like this. I think the top three starters are good enough. Even if you get Ranger as your fourth starter and he can go five innings giving up three runs. That’s pretty good.

To me if the Phillies don’t win a World Series it’s because their hitting wasn’t good enough. They have to live with the hitting that they have. And it comes and goes. I trust their pitching way more than I trust her hitting to come through with runners in scoring position. Their whole fate is gonna come down to hitting with runners in scoring position and being able to hit enough home runs to get them by.

Yep, it seems like it will come down to getting the lineup back healthy and hitting.  We also need the bad Nola to stay home in October.
