October 9, 20242 yr I'm watching Detroit/ Cleveland and thinking how much better it would be for the Phillies to have Matt Vierling on the team as opposed to Bohm or even that chump Hays. Vierling can play the outfield as well as 3rd base, which he is playing today.

I’d have to go look at all the trades that Dombrowski made in his tenure. But none of them I think are outstanding or great. Best might be Alvarado because Alvarado was pretty freaking good for two years.

Walker, Turner, extending Nola, extending Wheeler, Castellanos, and Schwarber. Schwarber is the only one out of those that has been worth the money. We will see with Nola, but come on, I think we all know how that contract is going to age. I don't mind the Wheeler extension since it's only 3 years. Alvarado was a good trade, but then he trades for guys like Rodolfo Castro, Syndergaard, Kyle Gibson, Ian Kennedy, and Austin Hays. Just brutal. We all need to pray that this overhaul of the minor leagues pans out because if not, the next decade is gonna be brutal with over the hill/ overpaid veterans with little to no young players to supplement. I hope that Painter, Crawford, Tait, and Miller all work out.
October 9, 20242 yr Positive Quintana threw 17 pitches. negative by my count swung at 5 pitches out of the zone

Frankly I’d take Gibson over the trash they threw out there are as a 5th starter this year after turnbull got hurt. Syndergaard was a bleh trade. Moniak isn’t very good and syndergaard was at least usable in 2022. But yeah it’s not been a great track record. nola’s contract is bad cause only he and Yamamoto got 7+ year deals as pitchers. No one on the market was giving nola 7. I don’t believe for a second an organization like Atlanta was going more than 4 with maybe a fifth year option. They overpaid in years. They were better off just going snell 2 years and getting out of the contract after 2 years and seeing who’s on the market. Nola in years 4-7 who knows and it’s about $25 mil per year being eaten up

If he balked, I would have told him to see what he can get on the open market. If nothing was there that he wanted (there wouldn't have been), then he would have taken the Phillies offer. Bad negotiating by DD.

Frankly snell always missed time but if he was available for the playoffs I’d take his ability over Nola
October 9, 20242 yr Bohm sucks he's safe. And F you Topper putting him in there. F you POS you need to be fired tomorrow.
