KC really got banged up tonight and was already banged up.  Is two weeks enough to,get healthy?

Mahomes will be fine. Hope he wont in one hand... you know the rest.

Sneed had a concussion maybe? I think Gronk did in 2017 but 2 weeks is a good recovery from a minor concussion.

JuJu might be done with a knee injury.

Who else got hurt?

Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

The Eagles and 49ers combined for 202 total passing yards.  I wonder how far back you’d need to go to find fewer in a Conference Championship game

The 49ers are a dirty team.  Wonder if that impacts DeMeco Ryans’ chance to be a HC.  29 should be fined even more than Williams.  57 for, stepping on Goedert”s stomach should also be fined.  A lot f dirty play.

It was a little annoying that the refs weren't doing anything to control the game. They should've been more liberal in throwing out ejections (namely #57) when the intention became to hurt our players rather than playing.

In case anyone was wondering, we did NOT win the lottery for Super Bowl tickets.

I’m scaling the facade at State Farm stadium.

What a quote

Hopefully Siposs is ready in 2 weeks.

Its so weird that here we are in 2022-23 and Eagles backup DT Ndamukong Suh revoked the 49ers forward pass privileges in an NFCCG with 10 minutes left in the 3rd.

Kellen Moore interviewing in LA with the Chargers.

Going from Dak to Herbert could be a nice career move.

Feels like that guy has almost single-handedly flipped 2 games for us this year. Strange set of circumstances for a guy who was a FA for half the season.

Love this team.

They dominate in a variety of ways.

And they are built to be relevant for a few more seasons.

Out of Hargrave, Bradberry, and Gardner-Johnson, they will re-sign two.

And they have draft capital.

The window is wide open.

This offseason is going to be very, very interesting.  For me it all starts with Kelce.  If he decides to come back for one more bite of the apple, I can see Brandon Graham following suit.  Both are smart enough to understand the Cap challenges Howie will face, as well as the personal economic windfall (over a number of years) that can come from endorsement revenue, so I would not be at all surprised to see them sign very Cap friendly one-year deals if they do come back.

Cox may well follow suit as well.  I don’t think his market value to teams other than the Eagles will be very high, so being an Eagle for one more year would be an attractive path.  I also believe both Joseph and Suh will be just as good in 2023 as they have been in 2022 and missing Training Camp and the early season games will be just as attractive next season as it is this season.

Assuming a resigning of Hargrove, that would mean the whole D-line corps less Robert Quinn would be back.  Two unknowns would be the future of Derek Barnett and Noah Elliss.

Between Bradberry and CJGJ I would choose to resign CJGJ as the higher priority.  Is ability to be both Safety and Slot/Nickel Corner is immensely valuable.  Having Bradberry back would be very nice to have, because we know what we are getting, but there are other boundary CB options in Free Agency that Howie could target for a one-year prove it deal like the one he signed Bradberry to this season.

White and Edwards are probably Cap casualties, with Dean and Christian Elliss stepping into starting roles.  Here too Howie will look for free agents like White was this year.

On Offense a decision by Kelce to come back one more time is a clear benefit, but it also poses at least two problems as well.  The first is what to do with Cam Jurgens.  Do you plug him in as the RG starter?  Do you have him be backup Center again?  The second Is what to do with Isaac Seumalo.  In my ideal scenario, Howie would resign Seumalo and then trade him to an IL needy team.  That would open the RG starter spot for Jurgens.  That already complicated scenario becomes even more complicated if on Draft day the Eagles select an RT heir apparent with the #10 pick like Georgia’s Broderick Jones (who I feel is an ideal fit to the Stoutland model of O-linemen).

The future at RB has definitely gotten more interesting in the past 8 days with the performance of Kenny Gainwell.  That performance makes it even less likely that Miles Sanders is resigned.  The Draft will surely include one selected RB, if not two.  In a tight Cap situation I would much rather see Howie use Sanders money on CJGJ, Hargrove or Bradberry.  That is how I feel about Seumalo money as well, thus the sign and trade approach to him.

An extension of Hurts would ideally be Cap friendly in both 2023 and 2024 so the team can continue its quest for Lombardis.

That’s my plan and I would stick to it.

Herbert actually getting a good offensive coordinator/coach is also nice for him. Good match tbh.

I actually said that when i saw it live. I was surprised they missed it. They also missed it a little bit later on the return but it wasn’t nearly as bad

@mattwill Nice breakdown on a very stressful offseason. I agree on Gainwell and I think lots of others are thinking the same thing.

I agree 100% on Cox and Graham only coming back to chase a back to back and a last nice payday would have to happen elsewhere.

Best of luck next year! ;)

FWIW what the 49ers are feeling right now is why the Eagles drafted Hurts.

The last game before the Hurts draft was the Josh McCown playoff game.

They refused to ignore the backup QB position and invested heavy in talent.

The niners have had really crappy luck with injuries and their Qb this year. Not sure you could expect to lose trey lance for the season. Then Jimmy G for basically the rest of the season. Then lose purdy in the game then josh Johnson and forced to play purdy who can’t throw.

The Eagles deserve all the credit for knocking those two out of the game with their pass rush. And shanahan is an idiot for trying to block reddick with his tight end thay got him hurt. But the niners had awful luck with their QBs. Not sure you could do much more when losing lance, Jimmy g and eventually purdy. Not gonna have more than 3 QBs at the start of the season on any nfl roster. Literally all 3 got hurt

Wow, national media is making it sound like the Eagles only won cause the 49ers didn't challenge that Smith catch and knocked Purdy out. Yeah, I think a few are right that Hurts isn't right physically because of how off he was, but they are downgrading the win big time.

After seeing a replay, that really was so terribly embellished by Mahomes. Who can blame him of course, but Ossai barely even touched him.

He for sure sold it. Like he was gonna get a call regardless because he’s Patrick Mahomes and you hit him somewhat out of bounds. But he sold the crap out of that when falling to the ground.

Don’t really get this. They didn’t just give away Jimmy G for nothing. They suffered and played in an improbable 4 QB injury season.  Not sure what else they should do.

I look at it this way the fact that the Niners were able to get to the NFC championship game considering the fact they lost their starting quarterback Trey Lance then Jimmy Garoppolo, who could start for a good portion of teams on the league and frankly top 20 if not 15 in the league. now you’re down to your third string quarterback who is the last pick in the draft and yet still managed to get to the NFC championship game. You have to have a really good roster in order to make it to the NFC championship game to begin with. But losing your starting Qb and second stringer who should be a starter in the league most teams would’ve have imploded with purdy

Final thoughts before bed:

I thought the Bengals would have been the tougher matchup for the Eagles. Not by a ton. I think they have the better roster, and while Mahomes is Mahomes and is insane, Burrow is freaking awesome himself. Some of those throws he made were ridiculous. And I think their weapons on offense and defense is better.

But this game is definitely going to be a challenge. As it should be. To be the best, you gotta beat the best. What better way to get a Lombardi than to take down Mahomes.

When Eagles beat Chiefs in 2 weeks the NFL world will say they beat a QB on one leg. They won’t get any credit. And that’s how I like it. The pettiness of fans and media bias against Philly fills me with joy.

I love this f'in picture. This is the greatest era of Eagles football and these 4 linemen are its foundation, with Howie as its architect.
