I can’t stop doing something I am not doing.

Just end it all.  That will take care of whatever the issue seems to be or not be.

If the NFL is rigged, then Nick Foles is actually the greatest QB of all time, and it’s not close. That means, the script was for Nick to play bad enough in games to become a journeyman. Easy enough. But then turn it on for the 27-2 season and be freaking great. Throw 7 TDs in a game. And then the writers put him back in purgatory until... BAM use his elite QB skills on display for two games, one to put on a clinic and beat Tom Brady... only to never use them again. It means he’s so skilled that he could make all those throws and plays, and only gets to use those skills a few times in his career, while intentionally playing poorly in between. That’s incredible skill.

But real talk, it’s impossible to script football. Could you skew the refs, sure. Could you ask a guy to drop a pass or throw an INT, sure. But you can’t script the end of that last Steelers Super Bowl, for example. Perfect passes and impossible catches can’t be counted on for a script. Mistakes, sure. But great plays require too many things going right to count on them.

A game doesn't need to be scripted to be fixed.  A small nudge at a certain point, with a penalty call (or non-call), a bad spot or even a player taking a dive could be just enough to get the desired outcome.  It doesn't even have to work every time, just once in a while and somebody could be raking in big money.

There are people who cheat in every facet of life.  To think that an enterprise as large as the NFL is 100% on the level, all of the time - well, I've got a Liberty Bell to sell you.

Some real verbal diarrhea.

I used to almost agree with Jerry, as far as not going all in for one year. But now I think differently. We saw the Rams go all the way in, and it worked. We won our last Super Bowl by making some pretty big acquisitions in FA and by having dominant lines and a cheap QB on a rookie deal. We saw KC do the same thing. This year, we went all the way in with a QB on a rookie deal and it got us to the dance.

Talent all around is just too damn important unless you have a Brady/Mahomes. If you have a chance to put a good roster together and believe you have the talent at QB, you have to. We’ve seen how being almost good enough for years is just frustrating. You’re banking on going on a run of overachievement and not getting better teams’ best.

I’ve also seen how much a fan base can relax if you win one every once in a while. It’s worth the shot, to me. I’d rather win one and suck for a few years, than go through the 2000s again. That was brutal.

But once you pay your QB, it’s close to impossible to field a roster without some holes. Unless you just nail every draft pick. Nail your top picks and consistently find gems in later rounds. But that’s unrealistic.

The roster we have right now is pretty much as good as one can get. I heard a video of one of the players saying how they are extra motivated to win because they know the team won’t be the same next year.

But for me, this is a better feeling than getting outed early in the playoffs year after year

Jerry just never understood what made him a successful NFL owner — he was friends with Jimmy Johnson

What really did it was the Hershel Walker deal...  Jimmy wasn't the greatest and was pretty mediocre in Miami.  But, in Dallas with all the draft resources, he was able to leverage that into a real force, with his knowledge of who to grab in the draft... though he had his share of misses.  Drafted Troy Aikmam, then immediately turned around and drafted Steve Walsh as well.

Johnson made a deal with the Vikings that their GM really couldn't understand, and used it to bank roll his roster.

Do I think the NFL is scripted?  No

Do I think some games might be thrown? Possibly

You should all watch that documentary on Netflix about that basketball ref you was caught cheating.  very eye opening how refs could impact a game if they wanted to .  I specifically remember him saying the refs got together before games to decide how to call a game.  I think one of the topics was whether they would call Iverson for palming.  obviously that would render him less effective.  could NFL do this?  I mean they do say there is holding on every play.  those penalties are usually drive killers.  It is possible, but I doubt there is some nefarious plan in place.

don't post don't post, it makes my colon hepatitis act up.

I am concerned, no one asked why I put Bill Hicks and Rob Halford when asked 3 questions about my football knowledge.

I’ve been reading about the 3rd QB rule, which was eliminated when the NFL allowed any player to dress as the 46th active on game day.

My question is, NFL rosters are set at 53. Why don’t they just allow all 53 to be active on game day? What difference would it make?

i also have a football question. in all seriousness; does the Dline have to engage their counterpart once the center snaps the ball? could the dline time it right and take a step to the side or back once the ball is snapped, meaning the oline would be off balance and even possible take themselves down to the ground ? if so and done randomly, I would think this would get in the oline's head and they would waste a precious second to check and be sure they are being engaged.

Would that be an issue for the fantasy football folks/bettors as there would be no need for an OUT designation for injured players?

Do they "have to" as far as a rule................no. If they didn't though and it was a running play the oline would demolish the linebackers and secondary and no they wouldn't fall over

You're describing the first step to a stunt or twist. The OL isn't really caught off guard from the initial lack of engagement, but rather the hand off once the DL crosses gaps.

Some cool images here.
