Can i bet AR runs that middle screen a bunch?

he killed schwartz defenses with that

I'm guessing Andy will run about 50 screens in the game, his teams have always been good screen teams.

Hope eagles front is ready for them, Cox and Graham have always been good sniffing them out and they've seen a few over the years.

Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

This is Gannon’s game to prove his prowess against the best QB in the game. Last time they met, Mahomes had 6 incompletions, 5 TDs and 1INT and the Chiefs rushed for 200 yards.

I gotta tell you- there are times I am feeling super excited and a very confident The Birds get this done,

and then I think of MaHommes- and I lose all my confidence. He is without a doubt the best QB we have faced in the last 10 years?  Better than the Goat- I say that because he is so multi dimensional. I could see his antics chewing up this defense, I mean we gave up 40+ to Dak and co, including a 3rd and 30???? To me we will have to put 43+ on the board to WIN. SO can Jalen and Co out score the Cheifs in a barn burner?

So suffice to say I am hoping we are successful, but somewhat expecting us not to be. 😞

I wouldn't try to glean much analysis from that game; that was during the period Sirianni was evaluating what he had in Hurts and was throwing the ball far more often than running it.  Hurts threw 48 times, and Sanders and Gainwell combined for 10 carries.

Eric Wilson and Alex Singleton were the two leading tacklers for the Eagles in that meeting.

Chiefs barely put up 20+ against the Bengals, and while Bengals D are no slouches I believe Eagles D is better than that Bengals D, so I don't think eagles need to score 40+

They just need to play solid on defense, getting a turnover or two would help and not turning the ball over themselves would be a winning formula.

If Eagles win the Super Bowl then Jalen Hurts will become only the second QB in history to have gone 17-1 or better and won the Super Bowl.

Crazy that Hurts is that one dumb Commanders game where everything went wrong from being 17-0 right now.

I don’t buy this comparison. The Bengals have the Chiefs number lately, and Anarumo seems to know how to contain the Chiefs offense and Mahomes. There’s a familiarity there. It’s like how the Ravens D confuses the hell outta Burrow.

Thats not to say Gannon won’t be able to hold the Chiefs O down, he very well may be able to. But I don’t think pointing to the Bengals and saying we’re better than them is a legit reason.

Good thing we are not playing the Colts in the Super Bowl.

Chiefs are probably thinking the same

Think of it this way:

--there is no way, unless you can quickly get in good graces with the local mob and climb your way up to shot caller--to guarantee victory in this game.   You can try but you might have to kill some mafia dons first a la Michael Corleone.

--So knowing that, what other Eagle team would you want to go into the SB with?  I dont give a flying F who we're playing, bring out the '85 Bears.... whoever takes the field has to deal with the 2022-2023 Eagles.

--Not only that, an almost-fully healthy Eagles team.

--KC isnt healthy.

--We match up well stylistically with KC. This is a good scheme match for us on both sides of the ball.

--They can't stop our offense.

--They only have 1-2 paths to victory:. Eagles crapping their pants, or Mahomes being perfect.  Neither are extremely likely.

--We have about 5.  If they turn it over, theyre done.  If Hurts can pass on them, theyre done.  We may even not need the first two to happen, we could just line up and dominate the LOS and win.  If any of their injuries are tweaked during the game, especially Mahomes or Kelce, theyre probably done.   And AR could blow this all on his own by subjecting Mahomes to a bunch of pressure.

The over confidence of some is killing me.  Minus the sacks, we were a statistically better defense in 2017, and after two dominant performances in the NFC playoffs, they got absolutely shredded in the Super Bowl.

Yea it’s bizarre. I feel like I’m the one who’s crazy for being so scurred but feels like among those who have no skin in the game, they see this as a 50/50 game as well. Not on the EMB apparently.

I am confident we can win, but it will not be a cake walk.

Absolutely nothing wrong with being confident, but the folks acting like the Chiefs shouldn't show up are setting themselves up to be massively disappointed if things do not go to plan.

And to me, most pertinent of all, this is a Jalen Hurts game and he hasn’t looked good since his shoulder injury.

No one has been like that.

The Eagles are the favorites this year and were 5 point dogs in 2017.

The mood should be different.  The monkey is off our backs and we owe AR a Super Bowl loss.

It comes down to the run game I think. Will Nick and Shane stick with it? We’ve seen them inexplicably get away from it (Saints game).

If they stay with the run game, then KC will have to be able to stop it to win. I don’t like their chances in doing so.

Obviously Mahomes is an x-factor, but if our run game is churning it will limit the damage Mahomes can do. I also think he’ll turn it over twice.

I said the other week the eagles should watch the last 3 bengals games and particularly the second half of those games cause the bengals seem to slow down and confuse KC. They’ve held KC to 24, 24 and 23 the last 3 matchups. Additionally the chiefs have scored 3 total points in the 4th quarter in those 3 games. If you hold the chiefs to 23-24 points then you have to feel good about your chances of winning.

They apparently drop 8 a decent amount, allowing them to play zone while having Kelce manned up.

For what it's worth the Patriots won the overtime coin toss in the Falcons Super Bowl.
