Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

They’re throwing everything at him. They’ll also note that he looked mentally overwhelmed for periods of the NFCCG, especially prior to the drive we scored our second touchdown (after which he seemed to settle down).

If I were the Chiefs, I’d want to get the ball first and get the Eagles down 7-0 immediately. I’d sell out to stop the run and get Jalen into third and long situations. Then I’d throw the kitchen sink at him schematically. I’d bet that he’s a young QB that, although very mature for his age, is still human and will once again be overwhelmed by the moment. And once you get Jalen in a 2 possession deficit, this offense probably becomes pretty simple to defend due to the simplicity of our passing game.

The only thing I disagree about is that I dont think they'll care if we run it*

*Caveat is if we're absolutely blowing them off the ball and dominating the game.

But if it were me, Id make Hurts prove he can throw that deep ball.  I dont care what his stats say.  Id have Clark and Jones coming right up the middle, get Hurts sped up and out of the pocket and take your chances.

Theyll believe they can score with anyone, so givng up a bomb or two wont deter them.  They just cant be physically manhandled all game and I think theyd be happy to let us run the ball a little bit.  Our coaches have a little habit of getting away from the run too.

Why do you hate the Eagles?

We will likely have a plethora of holes on defense to fill.

We have a limited target share as is, with Brown, Smith, Goedert and to an extent Watkins, combined with our rushing game.

How many targets would a TE 2 get? Is that worth anywhere near using a first rounder on one? We also don’t have a lot of later round picks, and frankly, Stoll and Calcaterra are fine 2nd and 3rd options.

It just doesn’t make any sense to draft a TE this year, considering the roster makeup.

The Pats sure made two TE work until one whacked people. Not my preference, but I wouldn't be outraged. I don't see it happening, though. The value will be too high on others unless they trade back.

For all the folks who do not have ESPN+, this draft would be horrid.

10. Philadelphia Eagles (via NO)

Bijan Robinson, RB, Texas

31. Philadelphia Eagles

Darnell Washington, TE, Georgia

63. Philadelphia Eagles

Keeanu Benton, DT, Wisconsin

I like Benton, seems to be an ascending player who can play the 4i/NT - basically JD insurance and good/necessary depth when we lose Fletch/Suh/LJ.  The valuation doesn't seem too far off.  Washington is very interesting, but I wouldn't take him at 31... I feel like he winds up on TEN.

I gotta tell you- there are times I am feeling super excited and a very confident The Birds get this done,

and then I think of MaHommes- and I lose all my confidence. He is without a doubt the best QB we have faced in the last 10 years?  Better than the Goat- I say that because he is so multi dimensional. I could see his antics chewing up this defense, I mean we gave up 40+ to Dak and co, including a 3rd and 30???? To me we will have to put 43+ on the board to WIN. SO can Jalen and Co out score the Cheifs in a barn burner?

So suffice to say I am hoping we are successful, but somewhat expecting us not to be. 😞

In fairness to the defense, they were playing with their 3rd string safety but it wasn't a good game.

Probably should take a Qb at 10. Need a cheap backup Qb with minshew gone and the lord and savior carson strong gone.

I'm starting to believe Minshew re-signs in Philly.  I don't think there's a market for him at all as a starter.

I tend to agree on the chiefs game plan is likely try to takeaway the eagles rushing attack and force it to be a hurts passing game. I think spags will attempt that due to his shoulder issue and they rather go down with hurts arm beating them then allow the eagles to run the ball and keep mahomes/offense on the sideline. Plus if Snead and mcduffie are healthy the chiefs corners have been better than earlier in the season.

Yep. And let’s be honest, there’s a reason why athletic QBs like Jalen haven’t won a SB. It always comes down to scenarios like this where a team says "screw it, you won’t beat us running that college offense.” Earlier in the season, I’d take that challenge but Jalen’s passing hasn’t been good for a while (even before he got hurt in the Chicago game). I’m not sure we can consistently pass the ball right now.

Yeah we kinda destroyed both of them, oops

Nice QBs you go there.  You should protect them.  Be a shame if something happened to them.

Those look really nice.

I don't think so. There might not be a market for him as a starter but I think he'll go somewhere he can at least compete.

Looking at the potential comp pick haul in 2024.

Bummer. Was definitely leaning yes before that part.

Mahomes is going to make plays. The Eagles should focus on shutting down their run game to make the Chiefs one dimensional. In the last 12 games for the Chiefs, they've scored more than 30 only twice, while the Eagles have done it 6 times in their last 12 games. Eagles need to do what they have been doing on defense all year, limit the big plays and get turnovers. And on offense the Birds need to run the ball and limit turnovers.

What does that have to do with anything? Did that Pats team draft a WR with pick 10? Then trade a first rounder the next year for another WR, then extend that WR? Had they also given out an extension to the stud TE they already had on their roster?

Also….the pats two TE dominance is clearly an outlier. No other team has replicated that since.

Was about to post this, but the scary thing is losing 9 players comp pick worthy.

Well, 15+ picks total is one way for Howie to retool down the line.

I'm a bit bitter at fanatics.  I placed an order last week and it won't arrive until 2/15 and 2/20.  By then I'll be ordering my championship gear.

No team had the talent to try. If they did their homework and a future stud is there I don't have a problem with it IF he is the highest ranked player on their board. I can't see that unless they trade back. What they gave DG doesn't matter, especially as we sit hear talking about a TE being a game changer on the other side.

I'm wondering how healthy he actually is.  He looked OK in the AFCCG, but that high ankle sprain is going to limit his mobility and our defense is absolutely going to put pressure on him.  The person that worries me the most on the Chiefs offense is Kelce, I hope Gannon has a good plan on how to limit what he does.

Call me boring, but I'm over here still looking at the top OL in this draft.  I know, we need more lineman like we need a hole in the head, but somebody to take over for Lane in a year or two would be great.  Drafting a RB at #10 is a non-starter.  I wouldn't mind Benton, either.
