I'm a bit bitter at fanatics.  I placed an order last week and it won't arrive until 2/15 and 2/20.  By then I'll be ordering my championship gear.

Yep.  My wife ordered shirts for all the girls for the game ( I am wearing my Dawk jersey ) and the order wasn't gonna be there in time, so she cancelled it and is going to make her own shirts.

She is making this one for herself, not sure what she is making for our daughter, daughter in law and grand daughter yet.

Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

No team had the talent to try. If they did their homework and a future stud is there I don't have a problem with it IF he is the highest ranked player on their board. I can't see that unless they trade back. What they gave DG doesn't matter, especially as we sit hear talking about a TE being a game changer on the other side.

Thank god you aren’t in control

I'm wondering how healthy he actually is.  He looked OK in the AFCCG, but that high ankle sprain is going to limit his mobility and our defense is absolutely going to put pressure on him.  The person that worries me the most on the Chiefs offense is Kelce, I hope Gannon has a good plan on how to limit what he does.

Call me boring, but I'm over here still looking at the top OL in this draft.  I know, we need more lineman like we need a hole in the head, but somebody to take over for Lane in a year or two would be great.  Drafting a RB at #10 is a non-starter.  I wouldn't mind Benton, either.

Last years match up against the Chiefs they did a pretty good job of limiting Kelce, and they hard far worse personnel to do it. I expect Kelce to do better this time around, but I don't think he will have a monster game.

Pushing the Super Bowl back one week with the 17-game schedule makes the offseason seem lightning-quick for teams in the Super Bowl.  Within 5-6 weeks after the game we should know most of Howie's decisions on who will be back for the 2023 season:

I love that shirt.  My wife needs this.  Her family is full of the team formerly known as the Redskins fans.

If Isaac walks due to cap reasons - Matt's guy Broderick Jones makes a lot of sense - 10 is maybe a little high to other teams as he isn't an experienced LT yet.. but he's 20 and very talented.  He plays a year or two at RG, and gets molded by Stout into Lane's replacement.  It gets complicated if Seumalo is resigned, as I'm cool to the idea of drafting players high not to play.

Fair enough.  I do like the idea of saturation drafting, so in my most recent Mock, thanks to the trade opportunities that the simulator offered me I took three Edge players Van Ness from Iowa, Carter from Army and Nick Herbig from Wisconsin.

Joe Douglas-Donnel Pumphrey Syndrome?

That's right -- I'm blaming Joe for the Pumphrey pick.

I wonder if we end up tagging someone.  Usually don't but we have so many quality starters on the defensive side heading into FA that I wonder if this is the year that we do.

The only thing I disagree about is that I dont think they'll care if we run it*

*Caveat is if we're absolutely blowing them off the ball and dominating the game.

But if it were me, Id make Hurts prove he can throw that deep ball.  I dont care what his stats say.  Id have Clark and Jones coming right up the middle, get Hurts sped up and out of the pocket and take your chances.

Theyll believe they can score with anyone, so givng up a bomb or two wont deter them.  They just cant be physically manhandled all game and I think theyd be happy to let us run the ball a little bit.  Our coaches have a little habit of getting away from the run too.

So your game plan is to get a guy who can run and throw while moving out of the pocket? .................................................Brilliant!!!!!!

The over confidence of some is killing me.  Minus the sacks, we were a statistically better defense in 2017, and after two dominant performances in the NFC playoffs, they got absolutely shredded in the Super Bowl.

You really can't discount the sacks because they make a big difference. This defense has given up more points and rushing TDs but they have given up 600 less passing yards in one more regular season game.  This defense is better in the secondary and their coverage has allowed more pressure on the QB.  There's no question that the Chiefs and Mahomes can put up big numbers against any defense.  Notably, the Bengals flummoxed Mahomes with drop 8 coverage in last year's AFC championship game.  This season Mahomes has been much better against drop 8.  There's not a consistent formula to beat him but my hope is that Andy does Andy things to keep us in the game.

I certainly wouldnt play coverage.  Seems counterintuitive but I bet theyd rather have Hurts beat them with spectacular plays than our OL just repeatedly mauling a soft front.

I think cover 4 is not going to be the way to win this one.

I say cover 1 press and cover 3 press will give us the most success. When playing man we’ll be able to have a safety over top, playing centerfield, and 2 players able to bracket Kelce. In zone we’ll be able to stay connected and have a couple of eyes on Kelce without completely vacating sections of the field. Cover 4 will allow the chiefs to get crossers and intermediate routes in the middle of the field, giving a ton of space to Kelce, and not much else in that area of the field if Kelce is covered. Kyzir White is going to have a long day if he doesn’t get into Kelce around the line.
The Chiefs have some really banged up WRs and none of them are amazing. We should get in their face, get physical, and delay the timing for Mahomes enough to collapse the pocket.
On passing downs, I’d go Reddick, Sweat, Graham, and Hargrave. Having more speed to chase Mahomes would be ideal.
If we rush 3, I’d rather bring an extra safety, and have any concept with Kelce getting an additional man defender.
Wrap up 10 because he’ll turn a nickel into a dollar anytime he gets a carry.

On offense running the ball, and quick timing routes to AJ/Smitty and Goedert. Hurts usa to recognize his check down running back before leaving the pocket as well. He’s left quite a few yards on the field by running away from his check down when he feels pressure. Easy 4-6 yards on these instances turn into incomplete or negative yards. We should be able to double Chris Jones and live with 1 on 1s everywhere else. Chiefs will likely try to restrict the short game, Hurts is going to have to make some big time throws, which will be easier if he can at least give our 3 targets a chance to make a play on the ball in single coverage. He doesn’t have to drop in in the bucket, because all three of them can adjust and make incredible catches through defenders.

I certainly would try to keep him in the pocket. This game 100% depends on Hurts. If the Hurts from the beginning of the season shows up it's an easy win for us. If the Hurts form the Chicago game on shows up then I would definitely keep him in the pocket

We need a RT of the future and maybe a RG of 2023.

Philadelphia’s favorite son Chris Simms thinks the Eagles are the better team but is leaning Chiefs due to Mahomes and Reid.

Assume that’s going to be a popular media sentiment this week. We’ll see.
